I read the reviews and didn’t expect much but all in all this hotel is quite a fun place to stay in and quite good value considering the location, which is right next to Serdika metro station for quick and easy access to Sofia Airport and other parts of the city. The key access out of reception hours is a little fiddly but well explained by them by text. Expect crumbly Soviet style architecture and memorabilia, it certainly feels quite nostalgic. The room was fairly large and quite basic, including a small but functional shower/WC with the walls plastered in old communist era newspapers and posters of Todor Zhivkov and Brezhnev! Two large windows looked out over a car park, some interesting murals and the contrast of the luxurious Sofia Balkan Palace Hotel. The bed was very firm but that suited me and I slept well, despite being in the heart of Sofia the street was surprisingly quiet after midnight. There was a bit of noise from other rooms but really not that bad. Everything was a bit rustic and ramshackle but it worked and was good value considering it was a room with private bathroom in a prime location. If you’re a traveller on a budget and looking to experience a bit of communist nostalgia you’ll love it. Check out ‘Izzy’s Coffee and Brunch ‘ cafe in the car park at the back of the hotel on Maria Luiza Boulevard for a great breakfast.

The room was hardly ‘deluxe’ and was also advertised as having a balcony which it didn’t have. The bedding was very old and tatty.

The location is great!! The room I got was quite nice: spacious enough, with a fine table and a comfortable bed! The integrated bathroom was interesting for sure. Also not having to go through reception was convenient for me as I was a bit tight on time.

Half the rooms being on the other side of a roofless terrace was a bit peculiar, and a little bit awkward given the rainy weather, but no something to turn me down. The fridge in my room being situated right next to my side of the bed wasn't very pleasant, given its random noisy bursts of turning on.

The location is great, right next to the subway station, which is what I needed to do my flight next morning and the train goes to the airport in 25 minutes. The receptionist was very nice guy, took me directly to my room, explained how to use the keys, let me leave my suitcase at reception until registration which is at 3pm etc. Was very nice to have private bathroom in the room, but not all rooms included it.

The only issues I had is minor, the bed was large but the mattress not very comfortable. I couldn't get the TV to work. There was a small fridge in the room but didn't work. The desk, TV, chair, and AC unit are quite old as well as the building itself, but overall nice and clean.

Great location, bed and pillows were comfy and it was mainly clean. Staff sent instructions, as we had to self check in. We had a shower and toilet within our room, so this made is so much eaiser.

The instructions should say turn left after getting keys out the box. The sign for the hotel/guest room is barely visible in the dark and you have to look up. Had to use our phone torch as light wasn't working between floor one and two. Also there was no lights on terrace. We had a shower and the water leaked out of the doors. So the door may need to be sealed, as it wet the wooden floor. Not sure when the rug last got cleaned but it felt dirty on our feet. Also the wifi on the instructions in the room didn't work. Luickly there was a different password in one of the corridors

Great location – walking distance to everything, the metro station is right next to the building. I had a room with a private bathroom inside the room. Room furnishings are a bit old-fashioned, but the room (including the bathroom) was very clean, I was also very satisfied with the cleaning service during my stay. The staff is very friendly and ready to help with any problem, there is also an option of self check-in, which is very convenient.

the hostel is located on just one floor of a rather old building and the condition of the building itself is not the best. The kitchen could be better equipped, but it is still possible to cook something simple there and it should be enough for a short stay.

It was a perfect location, my room was excellent. The patio was aawesome. I loved staying there!

The directions to get there could have been much clearer. I arrived later in the evening, as arranged, and it was very difficult to find. Even Google was confused! If anything, I would have liked a cutting board in the kitchen. But these were small things. I loved staying there.

Good location, right next to metro station. There's kitchen well equiped. In the room was TV and AC. Comfortable bed and private small bathroom. Great addition is the terrace which I'm sure is a great place to hung out during summer.

It would be great to add some curtain instead of just the shading curtains, there would be more light in the room. The rugs were annoying, moving all the time.

The ensuite was like a box in a room. Which - if you're sharing a room with someone u don't share a room on a normal basis - may be awkward as the toilet was like semi - transparent... Also getting to the room - we have to go past a terrace etc. So the room itself was in a weird place. Lifts looked like it will breakdown anytime soon .... Other than that all good.

Had to find a place to crash for a few hours after a stag night out as I was staying in a different hotel, however as late night the metro or public transport not working the taxi would've cost more and not worthy to disturb my gf with me being completely wasted :) Great location Staff online helpful Good size room Toilet in the room Great price value for a short stay

Well a bit difficult to find the room if you check in on your own Toilet and shower in the room weirdly.. Like a glass shaped bathroom within the main room. Old style furniture Not the best bed to sleep in even if for 4hrs only

The location is perfect and apartment is really cozy for 2 people.

Some details are not listed on the pictures and as general information. Check-in host was not really pleasant - we were waiting for him for 1 hour just to leave the bags.
