This small hotel was a real highlight of my trip to Cambodia. From the first step on the premise guests enjoy personal attention of the staff. Very spacious luxurious rooms, quiet and refreshing pool, flawless cleaningness, spa and high end restaurant in house. Amazing breakfast. Retreat in the full meaning of this word. It is well worth to reserve a free day amid temple tours and just chill out in the hotel, enjoying everything it has to offer.

Some mosquitos in reception and around the pool. But this was the only flaw and it can be easily dealt with repellent.

The pool was spectacular in the daytime and in the evening, buffet breakfast was delicious and the room was wonderful with the best bath in the premier suite. The entrance hall is a beautiful and welcoming experience with staff offering you a cool face towel each time you come back, a refreshing touch. Lastly, the staff were exceptional in all areas of the hotel, they went above and beyond to ensure you have a lovely stay.

Every once in a while you stay at a moderately priced hotel and everything just seems to click. Golden Temple Retreat was that hotel for me. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They genuinely care that you are enjoying your stay. Housekeeping was PERFECT every day. Every towel, every amenity placed exactly where it should be each day. Nightly treats and local Cambodian stories delivered with the evening turndown service. The laundry service was very inexpensive and the laundry was PERFECT every time; clean and pressed to perfection. I enjoyed my morning Cambodian-style breakfasts and chats with the restaurant staff. They had plenty of western options, but I can have that at home. A had the Cambodian noodles and soup almost every day. I’ve been to Cambodia many times so I did not avail myself of the hotel’s ability to make tour arrangements, etc., but I’m sure these are executed with the same quality & enthusiasm. It’s situated close to Pub Street but far enough away so it’s quiet. I walked some days, or took a $2 tuk tuk other days. I would not hesitate to stay at this lovely little hotel the next time I’m back in Siem Reap.

If there is one thing that could be improved, it’s the lighting over the bathroom sink. The overhead LED light is bright, but it’s positioned poorly. Whenever you try to look at your face in the mirror, you are in shadow. :(

The staff at this hotel are amazing! To many to mention them all but Lisa and Nat on reception were great. The food in the restaurant was excellent especially the breakfast - thank you Mr Swang Van!

Centrally located but quiet. Very beautiful building and rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful (especially Lisa who took great care of us from picking us up at the airport to fixing our onward journey by boat to Battangbam. The pool area is just as nice as it looks in the pictures

Location was a short walk from the markets and pub street, Staff was amazing and very attentive. The front desk helped organize a tuk tuk driver to take us to the temples and had 2 predetermined routes. We paid through the hotel and didn’t need to haggle with the driver, it was effortless for us and we really enjoyed the convenience. Hotel also provided a nice free lunch during our stay and set us up a beautiful honeymoon display which made our trip unforgettable. The Apsara show was nice at the hotel restaurant as well! Thank you golden temple retreat!

Special thanks go to Tong and March, who went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and well taken care of. Their professionalism and attention to detail, along with the efforts of the rest of the incredible team, truly set Golden Temple Retreat apart. The location is conveniently situated close to Pub Street, making it easy to explore the nightlife, markets, and a variety of restaurants. You can either take a walk or enjoy a quick tuk-tuk ride. The amenities at Golden Temple Retreat are outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the daily happy hour drinks. The breakfast was another highlight, offering a varied spread that catered to all tastes, from local dishes to Western-style. One of the most memorable parts of our stay was the Aspara show and dinner. The traditional performance was absolutely captivating, showcasing Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage along with an exquisite meal in a beautifully arranged setting, it was a great experience. It's worth mentioning that Golden Temple Retreat has a serene and tranquil ambiance. While families are warmly welcomed, we had 2ad, 3ch, the retreat’s atmosphere leans more toward a peaceful getaway, making it a bit better suited to couples or those seeking a quiet escape. Would stay again!

The staff was exceptional and made us feel like kings and queens. The breakfast was delicious, slightly changing day to day and from 6:30 which is appreciated to start the day early. We have also booked a private tuktuk for the full day to take us to Angkor through the hotel and when comparing to other offers, the price was more than fair. Marida helped us with anything we needed throughout the stay and more. We also felt that the place looks better than on the pictures.

The pool was always in the shadow so the water was a bit cold and not too many spaces to lie around it. We also did not mind it but the bathroom in the room is completely open which can be an issue for some people who needs a lot of privacy.

The service was outstanding, attention of detail was next level and the best I have received from any hotel. Right from the start welcome drinks and pick up from the airport. They had lots of options when it came to organising tours of Angkor Wat. We went for a tuk tuk tour and bun our driver was incredibly attentive and constantly on the look out to make our experience better. The service and seamlessness was incredible, everything was sorted for us. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Our room was incredible, fantastic pool area and drinks around the pool (2-1 in the afternoons making cocktails $2 each) the mini bar included snacks and we got free snacks along the way which was a lovely touch. The bath and amenities for the bathroom were a lovely touch with everything and more including shaver and shaving cream, combs, toothpaste and toothbrush as well bath salts etc. The restaurant was incredible, the food was local and cooked beautifully. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice and service again exceptional. We used the spa on numerous occasions and again is a must do, extremely reasonable priced (2 hour massage can start from £15). I would highly recommend this to everyone, we would love to go back if it wasn't so far away from home!
