1. No mosquitoes in the room. 2. Clean pool water. 3. Friendly staff. Special thanks to Ms. Daliza at the reception, who has a warm personality, speaks great English,a great listener and very helpful.

1. Breakfast definitely has room for improvement. Especially coffee. Yes, I can choose to buy a cup of coffee of decent quality for 1.5USD at nearby cafes, but hey I paid 75 to stay. I’m sure it’s not too much to ask. As I have been to major tourist hot spots in Asia like Bangkok , Tokyo, HCMC and Bali. I know what a good breakfast buffet looks like. 2. No water fountain. Visits to Angkor Wat can make you sweat a lot. I bought a lot of bottle water from supermarket, which was not very eco-friendly. 3. Gym needs major overhaul. It’s simple actually, a squat rack, a bench press rack(plates from 5kg to 25kg) some dumbbells (3kg to 30kg) and a foam roller is all a gym-goer ever needs. 4. 45 USD pick up to the airport is relatively expensive in this country. I’d say 20-30 USD seems fair.

The staff are so friendly on arrival and throughout your stay, always eager to help! They also remembered our names, which was a lovely touch. The pool is incredible! So clean, a great temperature for cooling off after a busy day in the heat. The rooms are huge too and very clean with excellent facilities. The location is perfect - a few minutes’ walk to Pub Street and the markets, with some great restaurants and shops nearby too.

It was an extra $25 to check in early (we arrived at 10am). The hotel is also listed differently on Google and there is a sister one nearby that we went to first. The one you need if staying is Hotel Somadevi Angkor Boutique & Resort.

I loved the swimming pool! Big size and super clean and working pool side bar. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and sufficient, some vegetarian options are there. The room size was very good, the king size bed very comfortable but no choice of pillow softness. The location was in walking distance to all the city sights like beer street and night market and lots of other shops around. Definitely good value for money. We booked a Tuk Tuk tour through the hotel with private guide and we found this extremely valuable and well organised.

There was a little confusion with finding the property, residency = boutique hotel and not the other Somadevi & Spa next door. Some of the staff doesn't speak enough English to help.

- We liked the location. Central but not in a too crowded spot. Sufficient restaurant options opposite the hotel and nearby at walking distance. - Good breakfast buffet offers sufficient choices. - Nice swimming pool but cold 😅. - I enjoyed the mango smoothie. - Good massage at their spa facilities.

I would like to advise the hotel to have the breakfast buffet ready at the moment that breakfast time starts. At leas, I would expect this. It happened that those times that we went for breakfast upon starting time, most of the food was not available yet. This was a pity.

Nice hotel verry conveniently located next to all things of interested. Fantastic breakfast, nice pool, a bit hard to find it as next door is another hotel with almost the same name ( same owner )

Pool bar staff do not speak/understand English, was verry hard to find somebody there to order something in the first place, when finally somebody showed up it was quite challenging to order a beer, to pay the beers was an impossible mission and we finally gave up all together and let them put the drinks on room bill as it was latterly impossible to communicate with them. If you go to the pool, bring your own drinks with you!

It’s very clean, our room was really spacious and the bathroom was modernized recently. The hotel itself is not the newest one but really well maintained. The swimming pool is pretty big and we enjoyed it a lot. It’s located pretty central, there are not many nice places to eat around. It was very quiet in the room and we could have a good night sleep. The breakfast was almost identical every day, it was nice to have fresh soup or omelette made for order though.

What I find negative is that they tried to charge additional breakfast fee for my child although I booked and payed it through booking.

Our Executive Double Room was comfortable, spacious and clean with a balcony overlooking the district/greenery. No noise issues at all. It is a 10-15 minute walk from pub street, a few minutes from the river. There are excellent venues immediately opposite the hotel - call outs to Phalla restaurant (probably the best meals we had on our whole trip), Majestea (great coffee) and the (no English name) juice/shake shop. Hotel has many amenities including large pool which was very refreshing and gym (did not use). Extensive breakfast offering including egg station. Staff were super friendly, being a smaller hotel (estimate at 50 rooms) and our 5 night stay it felt like they knew us each time we came by. Would definitely stay here again. (BTW I was a little shocked when the hotel messaged to offer an airport transfer at USD45, having been to Siem Reap before and remembering how close the airport is to town. In late 2023 the airport was relocated to 45-60 minutes drive away so while a little more expensive than arranging it yourself, their fee is reasonable).

Pool area has too few loungers. There were often guests wanting a lounger but all were occupied, with no other poolside seating despite a vast area that is unused.

The staff were fabulous and always greeted you by name when you were coming and going from the hotel. They were also excellent help when planning my activities. My room was huge and had a couch and balcony overlooking a garden area. The pool was right on my doorstep and was terrific at the end of a hot day. The hotel is easy walking distance to pub street, old market, riverside and lots of restaurants. There are also a few restaurants directly opposite if you don't want to head into town. The area around the hotel felt very safe and I didn't have any issues or concerns walking to and from it throughout the day and on the way to dinner. I often got a tuk tuk home post dinner but more for convenience than safety as there were often lots of other people put and about. I booked a tuk tuk and tour guide to the temples through the hotel and found them excellent. My guide was very knowledgeable and the prices were very comparable to what was advertised elsewhere.

Only negative was that my mattress was very firm. Buy many people would prefer this and it didn't prevent me getting a good night's sleep.

The Somadevi Residence is in a great location & all the staff were wonderful, from check-in, to breakfast to checkout. They were all very friendly, polite & professional. Our garden view room was quite spacious & clean & came with Tea/Coffee & 2 bottles of complimentary drinking water. The linen & bathrobes looked clean & the bathroom had all the necessities. The breakfast was delicious & had a good variety to choose from. Our room service meal was sent to us pretty quickly & tasted good. Unfortunately I didn't see the pool bar open & there wasn't any cushions on the sun lounges, but the pool was clean & big & at a good temperature. Overall, I had a good experience staying here for 2 days.

The pillows were a bit too thick & hard for my liking.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The driver and guide they arranged for my temple tour were brilliant and competitively priced. Pheara took great care of me. The room was large and comfortable. The hotel is close to pub street, restaurants etc. The breakfast was great. The hotel cafe is very good.

The pillows were rather hard but this was addressed as soon as I raised the issue. Getting your laundry done is a little expensive.
