The common area, living room + kitchen, is big and very welcoming, very comfortable. There are a few rules for the use of the kitchen and this was super well respected, leading to a nice shared kitchen, well organised, where you find every thing you need and it is clean. Dormitory are also well organised: there is a curtain to the bed for a bit more privacy, a shelf on the side to store small belongings, very practical ! The bed is comfortable. The ratio quality / price is totally worth it and acceptable, contrary to other hostel in Banff or Lake Louise for example...

The showers are really small and as the water is coming from top, for a rather small person (<1.70 m) it is hard to take a shower without getting your hair wet (still possible but complicated). There is also a very small place in the shower to keep dry things. As mentioned in other comments it is quite noisy outside but in my opinion manageable, especially if it is not summer and you sleep with the window closed. I have been more bothered by heavy snorers than by trains, and I still dream of a place where snorers would be separated from non-snorers ;) !

unbeatable value! sure it’s a hostel and you share a room with other folks but this is about as cozy as it gets! Decided to NOT go with a nearby mlrel which cost $65 a few years ago and now wants $300 for accommodations that are nowhere near as nice as this at only $44. plus I got to meet some fellow travelers, went for a beer a the pub a block away and had a fabulous breakfast next door at the Big Bend Cafe. Staff was super friendly and the facilities were spotlessly clean!

well it is a hostel and there was some light snoring from a bunk mate but that was no big deal.

Great facilities with plenty of space and resources for everyone, including a large kitchen with lots of clean utensils, pots and pans, great and sizeable storage for food items and multiple stove tops so that everyone cooking had plenty of space. The common area was large with lots of places to relax even when it was busy. Great location, walkable to all key spots in town and free parking.

No option for recycling soft plastics nor compost of food scraps. The landfill contribution of the hostel would be significantly less if a compost option for food scraps and left overs was available.

Great value for a price 10x lower than any hotel in the area. That's probably the best hostel I've been to. It's clean, people are friendly, you have all the amenities you need. People are actually socialising together in a living room, which also looks great. There is A/C in the room, the beds have curtains with them, the bathrooms are clean and spacious and there are quite a bit of them.

It's still a shared room with a shared bath :)

Found dreamcatcher kind of last minute. Was happy to find a hostel as opposed to an Airbnb I really enjoy the ambience of a hostel. Hostile many years ago in Europe This was similar. I am a senior and was assigned a six-bed dorm with five other young people. Was a good experience! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I found the room to be very warm. Did not get up to open the window I was unsure of how the other occupants would feel about that. Other than that I was fine no complaints.

Great kitchen facilities. Extremely clean everywhere. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. Staff were friendly. Lots of room in the fridge for food

The walls were thin so a bit noisy but after quiet time that wasn’t a problem Lots of stairs to the second and third levels- not a problem for us but could be for someone with mobility issues

Vibe was really chill. Hostel is clean, great location, plenty of parking, kitchen is a good size, bathroom is light and clean, and they have a really nice lounge/dining area. Victor was also superb! He's super friendly, gave lots of advice on trails, looked out for you, and was great conversation. He even joked that he would quote me for his résumé! I honestly have a little crush on Victor! Other staff are also really friendly and very helpful, I extended my stay for another night and they rearranged the schedule so that I could stay in my bed.

The only thing is that the toilet flush handle was a bit jammy but literally that is a super tiny thing you can get around! I also wished they put a board at the end of the bed facing the door as light would come in but an eyemask fixed that. They had a curtain and it only affected my bunk as the end faced the door, all other bunks in my dorm had complete cover.

Just small stuff that could be improved to make this one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in: - It’s super difficult to get in the front door with the key, not ideal especially if it’s late at night, really needs fixing ASAP - Only one small shelf to put things in the bathroom when showering - more space to put things while trying to shower and get ready would be great - I found it pretty chilly inside but staff did give extra blankets/duvets if asked!

I was pleasantly surprised with this hostel, the cleanest and best-organized of any I've stayed in -- you take off your shoes at the door and the kitchen is spotless. There are plenty of cooking implements and nice tables: it was once a restaurant, I think. There was a bulletin board with ride share information and local events. It was very convenient, within walking distance of the town and shops. Our double room was comfortable and quiet and had a nice working desk.

I'd loved to have had an en suite toilet, but otherwise it was good value for the money.

Walking distance to all great restaurants and bars in town. The property felt very comfortable, safe, and cozy. Plenty of room in kitchen and living area to hang out and socialize with other guests. The staff was incredible and so friendly and accommodating. I will 100% be back!

I have no complaints about the property.
