My room was very quiet. This is actually my first criteria when getting a hotel. I slept really well. I do recall hearing one plane though, but maybe that was a path of just one plane. I didn't hear any others. The facilities were quite good indeed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I met a really nice waitress at the restaurant who gave me a great tip about the fishing village in Stevenston. She came from close to this area and I wanted to visit it because it gets great reviews online. I would not have had time except because of the trouble caused during the Air Canada workers strike. I had to change my flights because of this myself, as I realized some friends were getting trapped in Canada so I cancelled my original flights and booked my own new ones and this gave me more time so I visited this nice village and the Japanese restaurant she recommended. It was called Ichiro and it was super nice and very professional with great seafood as you would expect from a place on the coast like that. The price was way better than my home country also. The swimming pools seemed quite good in this hotel. The Denny's was also nice and the staff their were very friendly too. I really like when staff are friendly and when a place is quiet. These are my main priorities on any trip. In the increasingly corporate world where staff are being forced to act inauthentic even as they are being treated badly, this comes across in a very bad way, but it felt like they must treat their staff ok at least in this hotel and the staff themselves are lovely people. I hope the executives do not force their staff in future to be fake nice, and actually genuinely treat them well so that they are happy when dealing with customers. The shuttle to and from the airport was also great, with lovely shuttle drivers. I actually used it to get the train to downtown also while I was staying there. It's a great way of avoiding extra taxi fees.

There was a stain on the carpet just inside the room when I went in. Everything else about the room was very nice so this was disappointing. I guess it's hard to clean some stains.

loved the shuttle bus and access due to the airport and its transport systems. the staff were exceptional helpful and polite. nothing was a problem. The room was exceptional quiet considering we were very close to the airport.

As rooms are only serviced on request more coffee and tea and creamers, perhaps decaffinated products. this is related to our length on stay. We stayed 4 nights. It was close to Dennys so we were happy to go next door, restaurants also in abundance.

Staff was very friendly especially at the CHOP …JJ our waiter as well as manager went above and beyond when they heard our tale of woe getting to Vancouver. Desk staff very helpful when our lost luggage was delivered to the hotel at 1am. Shuttle very efficient.

Didn’t realize that hotel was so close to flight path. Normally we would not have slept well accnt aircraft noise but we were exhausted from a very long day of getting to Vancouver after flt cancellation ex Toronto that we did sleep. Location not conducive to heading downtown by transit although in all fairness didn’t ask if close to skytrain. Got the impression that taxi/Uber would have been necessary to go anywhere.

Good location. Super comfy bed and bedding.

No extra pillows, and I booked for two people and there was only one bottle of water in the room and the label was ripped. Also, I had an early morning appointment and my husband dropped off. Check out was not till noon and when my husband went back to the hotel the housekeeper was already cleaning the room.

Wonderful staff. There was a misunderstanding about our booking. Kay at the front desk and Bret the chef went above and beyond to help us out. The outdoor pool was very refreshing after many hours of travel.

Expensive but everything in Vancouver is. Their shuttle is too small and doesn’t run often enough. For our trips people were squatting in the aisles and sitting on each others laps. Most hotels with airport shuttles go to both South and the main terminal; Sandman does not. That was a pretty big pain to get 7 people’s luggage on and off 2 shuttles.

I am a repeat guest at this hotel and like it very much. Unfortunately there were kids teams staying there and the hallways were incredibly loud with kids playing hockey in them. Also the pool and hot tub were filled even late at night. My sister and I were celebrating our 36th birthday, first birthday we've spent together in 8 years so was looking to enjoy the hotel amenities. Unfortunately we were not able to do so. Would have been nice to be told about the multiple kids sports teams staying at that hotel that weekend.

Friendly staff, accommodating, airport shuttle convenience, some food options available for reasonable purchase amount, rooms are clean for the most part (could use some dusting), cozy and comfortable.

No restaurant on site, no cafe, no pool, not very accessible to attractions, however extra time needed to walk to the bus stop, Skytrain station nearby.

The room was well laid out, bright with extremely comfortable beds and a cosy reading chair. I also appreciated all the reading lamps available for "spot" reading in bed at night. The airport shuttle was very convenient if you need to catch a flight. Having Denny's nearby was also a bonus.

I did find the toiletries rather sparse (no lotion or Qtips provided) and there was no electric kettle despite tea bags being available. Aside from Denny's there wasn't anything else around there that was easy to get to without calling an Uber.

Sandman Signature is the perfect stay before a flight. We are a family of 4 on our way to London from Seattle but going via Vancouver. We decided to do a night in Vancouver and used this hotel. It was exceptional service, nice clean rooms, a good gym, swimming pool, hot tub, and within 30 mins of everywhere. The hotel offers $7 a day parking while you’re away and a shuttle to the airport every 30 mins. Finally, the prices are great for a 4 star hotel like this.

The noise of other rooms and the loud low flying planes ✈️ And the confusion of the layout of the buildings I ONLY ever enjoyed staying in the Columbia Tower and I only ever wanted a room in the tower My partner and I had a horrible experience staying in the low rise building I’m not sure if I want to stay at the Sandman again if I don’t have a room in the towers
