It felt like an old bungalow or a boutique hotel. Location was simply excellent - walkable from waterfront and all the downtown streets a tourist would want to visit.

While booking, it showed as "parking available" and came up with the parking filter in my search but only upon booking did I realise it was paid parking AND subject to availability. So when we arrived, there was no parking. We payed 30$ to park on the street over the day but were lucky enough to find one. Bathroom door wasn't locking properly. The door and the lock were getting stuck and creaking.

It's a nice little hotel in an old building (be aware that there are stairs). Big room with everything one needs for a vacation. Very nice staff. The area is great. Bus stops, the public garden, supermarket, food, and more are nearby. A short walk to the waterfront.

There are some things missing at breakfast (like cheese), and the room is small. When you have a room at the lower level, the windows are on par with the ground. So everyone outside can look into your room. Be prepared to close the jalousie most of the time.

Location was great for my purposes. Across the street from the hospital, a short walk to Dalhousie University. Plenty of parking (paid) in the area. Quiet, clean, fairly spacious rooms good water pressure in the shower, quick hot water. Good size bar fridge and small coffee maker with creamers in the room. Basic, but sufficient, continental breakfast.

Mattress was creaky and old, hard to get comfortable. The mini split unit was not adjustable (couldn't turn on or off). It was aimed at the bed, so constant wind blown at you. No security latch on the window, making break-ins quite easy, especially on a lower floor.

While it seems a little out of the way, the Inn is actually well-situated. A ten-minute walk down the hill will take you to Pier 21 (Pier 21 museum, Pier 23 farmer's market, East Coast Lifestyle and Garrison Brewing), and then onward along the Harbourfront. Dalhousie university is across the street; Point Pleasant Park is a 1.5 km walk (past the most beautiful, big, old mansions in the city), and then a 10-minute walk in the other direction to Spring Garden Road (Halifax Public Garden, Citadel Hill, Stillwell Beer Garden and the Dairy Bar). While not fancy, the inn is very clean, well appointed, and the staff were extremely helpful. I was able to leave my suitcase for the day after I checked out at 11 am. Breakfast was a continental self-serve including hard boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, cereals, fruit, coffee and tea. Not much else in the area unless you hit the market down the hill or check out Spring Garden Road, both ten-minute walks.

The location was excellent as well as the breakfast which was better than simple, having eggs and all the food groups. Excellent! The common area locations were convenient, and getting a cup of tea in the evening was easy. Location stellar, I walked to everything I needed. The value was excellent and the staff took care of me when I had to change my travel plans and leave on a different day. Overall it was an excellent place to stay!! And the bed was super comfy. And having a fridge in the room was SO convenient.

I felt cleanliness could be slightly improved - there were dark splatters on the bathroom door and walls, dark splatter stains on the bed spread, dust bunnies around the bed, and I had to stand on the bed to wipe a few spider webs off the ceiling corners hanging over the bed. All manageable, but just little things.

I loved the fact that it was a heritage building, with lovely old interiors. Good central location too, walking distance from several points of interest. The room was fairly comfortable.

Given that the building is pretty old, the floorboards are understandably creaky. I was on the lower floor so it did get noisy at times with guests staying above me walking up and down their room. Voices travel too, and I could hear people conversing in the hallway. Thankfully the nights were by and large peaceful. Lastly, the two-shower system in the bathroom, while thoughtful, ends up being awkward to use given the placement of the overhead shower.

The staff were very friendly, helpful, and hospitable! The location is on the edge of the downtown area, a short walk or bus ride to the harbour, so the neighbourhood is peaceful and quiet. If I remember correctly, the door is locked to the public after hours so I felt very safe during my late check in when staff let me in. The house is so pretty and charming in a homey grandmotherly way. The furnishings and styling was old but that added to the charm. It felt like I was staying in an old childhood bedroom! The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but it was nice to have an AC, a little kettle, coffee machine, and even mini fridge in the room, with my own bathtub and rain shower. I had a lovely bath after a long day. They even have a shared office area so you can print documents and browse the web if needed. The complimentary breakfast was well stocked with lots of options and the parlour is open all day with tea and coffee which I enjoyed after check out the next day.

The furnishings were a little old and the bed was not the most comfortable but that’s the style and the charm of the place.

Beautiful heritage building close to downtown amenities and good bus connections. Staff all extremely friendly and accommodating. Bed and bathroom linens fresh and comfortable. Room cleaned and fresh towels and extras restocked daily. Continental breakfast was well tended and served in the lovely front parlour. Plus after check out they allowed me to spend a few extra hours in the parlour and computer room as my flight had been delayed several hours. Fresh water, coffee, hot water for tea or hot chocolate available all day until 9:30 PM.

The carpets in the rooms I was in are very worn and have a dirty appearance (removal of carpets and replacing with hard flooring would due a lot to spruce it up and make it feel cleaner). The inner lining of the shower curtains in the 2 rooms I stayed in over 4 days had soap residue and smelt yummy (likely had been on for a while).

Historic building centrally located. Minutes from Route 10 which is a frequent bus route into downtown. Because the hospital is across the street, it is generally quiet. Staff are very friendly.

The continental breakfast is simple and good but starts at 7:45 am, so it might be a little late for some. I stayed in the front part of the building and it was quiet, but the street lights were very bright. Parking is first come first served, so you might not get a parking space.

The staff was lovely and extremely helpful with suggestions and directions. The bed was very comfortable. It was nice meeting fellow travelers in the breakfast room.

The downstairs room we had felt a bit damp and musty. Running the ac was necessary just to keep the humidity down. Although it was made clear that a ‘continental’ breakfast was provided, it was quite meager in what was offered. After the first day we opted to go to a cafe down the street.
