Room was spacious, beds were comfortable and the hot breakfast buffet was very good with a lot of food selections! It was nice for a week long stay. We had a full kitchen which included a fridge, stove top, microwave and dishwasher. The Wed evening social was nice and gave us a chance to relax and enjoy the property.

Initially we were given the wrong suite due to hotel error and didn't realize it until we settled into the room. We had reserved a suite with a full kitchen and were given a different one so we had to pack up and move to the correct suite. A bit of hassle. Once we settled into the correct suite, our stay was fine, The walk to the convention centre involved using steep walkways something we did not expect. Make sure to have good comfortable walking shoes.

We enjoy the spaciousness of the suite which allows you to spread out more and not feel confined to a single room. The location was excellent for exploring the downtown area of Halifax one note, Halifax is built on a tall hill,with the Citadel at the top, and slopes down to the Harbor. The hotel is at the middle level of that hill, so you will be going up and down steep hills to explore the city.

My major complaint about the hotel is the lack of signage that is visible. All of the signage is in silver on a tan background and is impossible to see. The hotel shares space with a Hampton Inn, but is tucked behind it. The signage on the side of the hotel (on Cogswell St), is hard to see, and easily overlooked. The signage on Brunswick St again is impossible to see. The Hampton Inn sign is visible, but not the Homewood Suites sign. We had to call the hotel to ask where it was, while parked in front of it. Just look for the Hampton Inn.

The pillows could definitely be upgraded. The beds were comfortable. The staff could come around a little more to ask if you needed towels or toilet paper but other than that, it was a great stay and the lobby bathrooms should be opened for guests all the time people do have bad stomachs.

The pillows and room cleaning were inconvenient

Room was great, clean and cozy. Location is in downtown, so I could just walk around to see everything I want. Hotel also have lounge with unlimited coffee with power sockets and wifi, so if you bored, you always can come and drink coffee, chill in internet. And there is laundry! During our stay we got hurricanes Lee around. At that time, there was problems with power supply in many places across city, including us, in our room electricity and water was shut down for about 2 days (started one day, ended next day, ~24 hours total). I want to give credit to hotel, we was warned about this like few days before, so when water and electricity was shutted down, I had full bath of water and all my devices charged already. Additionally, there was electricity in lounge zone, so we could come there and charge devices or drink coffee. I added above to "what I like" section as Hotel not responsible for hurricanes schedule and could only react on it, which imho was done nicely.

Breakfast could be better. I did stay here 10 days and at last days I couldn't see bacon, sausages, yoghurt, eggs and muffins. But I did like toast machine and coffee machine. Breakfast time also too early. Had to wake up 6-7am in a morning to have breakfast. 9am already late if you want to find some food for breakfast.

The room was very spacious and comfortable, especially a very large and comfortable bed and a fully equipped kitchenette. We had a bit of delay when checking in, but this little hiccup was perfectly and promptly resolved by the hotel staff; so what could have been a disappointment magically turned into success. I guess the management and the staff deserve a credit. Breakfast was very good. Also we had a wonderful Citadel view!

The swimming pool is just ok. Parking is usually extra.

The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. All areas of the property were clean and well maintained. Loved the two bedroomed suite on the top floor which had everything you could want for a nine day stay. The beds and pillows were of a high quality and the shower was great. A good variety and quantity of breakfast available. We would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was great, good quality with many choices.

The age of the room showed a bit. For example, the was no mold on the caulking in the bathtub, but a few mold stains that don't come off. Took me a while to notice the heater on the wall in the bathroom was controlled by a thermostat on the wall, not by the dials on the heater itself.

I liked the parking at the hotel. The room was spacious and bright.

The breakfast could have had more selection. We found lots of chips and towels from the previous stay under the beds. They called me before I was even there to check in threatening to cancel my room if I didn’t provide an updated credit card number.

The location is great, walking distance to the Citadelle, Split Crow and all of the good restaurants on the Board Walk. Good choices for breakfast, hot, cold and fresh fruit. They have social on Wednesday afternoons, you should take advantage of that.

The rooms and services were great, well the carpet in our room could use a good cleaning.

The room was quite comfortable and having a kitchen was really helpful given we were there for 6 days. The breakfast in the morning was very good and consistent. All of the staff are terrific, very friendly and helpful. Terrific location!

The only thing I would change would be the quality of the pull-out in the King Suite. My son could feel the springs of the mattress and the frame was really squeaky so we heard him every time he turned over. Other than that, we had no complaints at all.
