Very clean rooms and very good maintenance. Very comfortable bed, great location, nice rooftop and great service people at the bar. Generally one of the better hotels we have stay.

Very Difficult to figure out the lights and why the curtains only close and open to the end and not to the middle? Also, we had a Birthday and we want it to open a bottle of Champagne we brought with us and the bar upstairs charge us $30 to open it. We thought that was excessive!

A beautiful sophisticated and luxurious hotel

The lack of empathy exhibited by most of the hotel staff (except for housekeeping service which is perfect) is contrasting with the luxury level of the place where one expects the staff to go the extra mile for the guests. We experienced it more than once, it seems to be a theme. There is no luxury without great service, and they seem to have forgotten about it. There is no concierge per se which is also missing.

The building is beautiful and modern. Our rooms were clean with luxury linens and furnishings. The spa is gorgeous and well kept. The location is perfect for access to everything Halifax has to offer. The views from the rooms are stunning.

The place is overpriced. There were many additional fees over the stated price but that’s not the hotel’s fault. It just put the price over the top. Oran, a front desk staff member, knew his city well and was proactive in making sure we had information on local sites and restaurants. The other staff were less knowledgeable and far less attentive.

Great location, excelent facilities, personalized service and attention. High class accomodations filled with details that made us feel at home.

Altough automation for lightning and drapery control is greatly appreciated, control panel in bedroom should be enclosed... indicators lights on control panel illuminate bedroom at night disturbing sleep time.

Breakfast was not included but the restaurant had a good menu for all meals. The view was very nice and the hotel location was very good. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Get the room tour because there are extras you need to know.

My one complaint is the bed was lumpy. Not sure what the problem was but is was uncomfortable. I also do not like rain showers but that is a personal preference.

The facilities were beautiful, but it's the staff that deserve honorable mention. Welcoming but not intrusive. When we came down for breakfast the day we were leaving they went above and beyond to get our car, and even bring our luggage there while we ate. Also they expedited breakfast so we were under no pressure to get to the airport for our flight.

Was a busy Saturday with rambunctious kids in the pool - even outside of the "family time" there were kids under age 16. It isn't pleasant to police people, but if you promise adult-only time in the wellness center, you should politely deliver.

Clean, modern, nice restaurant

For the price, they should restock things like tea bags and coffee pods if used. Very odd bar…it is locked and you have to “find it.” They are trying for a secret speakeasy vibe but it is kind of odd and likely keeps people from coming. The drinks were good though.

The Wellness Centre was amazing. The hotel services were also perfect, and staff were accomodating and did door service for fetching ice and gave us water. The pleasantries of chocolate and macrons with a personal note were a very sweet touch. The BKS was an amazing experience. The room was beautiful bathtub and shower. Also bed was so comfortable. For a couple that isn't new to Halifax this felt like a newfound treat and will make you feel pampered and lovely. Thank you Muir.

The rooms are amazing and comfortable.

Some staff were quite up tight. We were questioned upon entering the property as to why we were there and how they could help us. In other words, you really don’t belong here. We had been there for two days. 90 minute wait to check in without any real explanation other than they were full. So was every other hotel in the area. House keeping staff were awesome.

As the newest hotel in downtown Halifax, this was a very special visit for New Year Eve. Muir is in an excellent location overlooking the harbour and features several unique public art sculptures on the property, including the steps to the harbour. The room appointments were amazing, particularly the hand-crafted bar (non just a mini-bar) as well as the bathroom with separate WC and bath/wetroom shower. Service was excellent, all staff from the parking valet to the room service to the front desk made us feel very welcome and went beyond to serve us.

Although the breakfast a la carte menu in the restaurant was creative and the food was excellent, I might have thought a buffet would be offered, but perhaps this is still a left-over restriction from COVID.
