I honestly think this is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. In recent years I've stayed in a lot of the highly commercialised chain hostels, and nothing against them (a bed's a bed), but this is such a refreshing change from that -- you can tell the love that's gone into every aspect of the design in this place. The owners are so kind and clearly love/know the area well. I got a heads-up from them about a nearby street festival that I wouldn't have known about otherwise, and suffice to say was thoroughly grateful for it! Hamilton would've just been a quick overnight stop for me otherwise, but I ended up changing my train times just to stay there longer and appreciate the city. There's a guest-curated map of local highlights, there are board games and books galore, it's small enough to be friendly rather than overwhelming -- this whole place feels like a true ode to community. And they have guinea pigs!

One tiny tiny thing is that the curtains on my bunk bed didn't quite fit all the way round, though most others in the room did. Not too bad though, when a lot of hostels don't have privacy curtains on the beds at all, haha.

The staff was very welcoming! Check in was very simple and fast. I got a tour of the house by the staff upon arrival. They provided towels for the hot shower, and good breakfast which included oats, cookies and cereal. I appreciated this very much! The kitchen was very well organized with labeling where each utensil is located so not to search thousands of drawers to find the right thing needed. Also, there were clear instructions on keeping the place tidy and clean, so the guesthouse was very clean and the guests were very respectful of these rules. I stayed in the faust room which was very spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Thank you so much staff! My stay with you was amazing.

Everything was very nice. Good concept. Affordable and unique experience at Hamilton if you want to enjoy a nice and home-like moment along with nice staff and guests from everywhere. All appliances and other stuff around are available for you. Ideal not only for solo travelers but also small families.

I know that all heaters are working properly, but sometimes you feel they aren't particularly into the room that we were in. Namely, it was very cold during my night in winter, and we didn't feel the heat of the radiator.

For a hostel, Pring Guesthouse is excellent with a very affordable pricing. The owner was friendly and very helpful, let us checking in late, and showed us around the building before leading us to our room. Free breakfast with a variety of cereals and milk. The kitchen is very well stocked with utensils, cups, bowls, cooking equipment, a kettle, a coffee machine and etc. We did not cook in the kitchen but I am sure one can easily utilize the kitchen fully. I am most impressed by the washrooms! Lots of washrooms on site and they are SUPER CLEAN with lots of free, clean and absorbent towels. Super easy to check in and check out too.

Unfortunately, our room was right next to the kitchen. We were not able to sleep in because of the noises from people having breakfast in the morning. The room also has a faint chemical smell. It didn't bother me but if you are sensitive to smell, it might be an issue for you.

Everything was wonderful! Tim is very friendly and accommodating and the house has a history and character. Learning about the house itself was already interesting and I could mentally take a time travel to 100 years ago! It is such a wonderful experience to be in a heritage house! I appreciated the access to the kitchen. I can see myself staying there for a longer period of time.

I liked the fact that no one disturbed us during our 3-day stay. We met the owner just once at the check-in, everything else was automated, non-invasive, smooth, and relaxed. We booked a separate room next to the door. At first, I thought it would be too noisy, but it was not a problem. There is a place to eat, a place to park a car, a place to do laundry - I'd say it's like staying in the house of your not-so-close relative who's busy with their own stuff and don't bug you at all :)

Hot water in the shower takes a long time to wait.

Special mention to the owners for organizing the space, I admire how they thought of everything down to the smallest details (very nice signed cabinets in the kitchen). We traveled for the whole last year and this was the most amazing accommodation we have been to. The house is beautiful, everything is made with love. Our room was really cozy and the bathroom and kitchen were super clean. The kitchen has everything you need and much more. They have a lot free groceries, a good oven, big refrigerator and all kitchen gear you need. For breakfast they offer free cornflakes, milk, and coffee and tea for the whole day. You can also make your laundry for free. And the best of all this is the heart warming owner. He give us a super warm welcome, we felt good from the first moment. We would love to come back. Thank you very much.

Wonderful host! Tim was incredibly hospital and engaging. It felt like I was staying at a friends place. I loved the common areas (living room with lots of books, a very well stocked kitchen, and a patio space outside). I felt very safe, comfortable, and welcome. The guesthouse provided many amenities that I was not expecting! Laundry, towels, free food, a lock for my locker, bathroom supplies, books, etc. This place just had great vibes, and I wanted to stay longer. Thank you so much!

The bed was pretty stiff and left me with a sore neck in the morning. The room was also quite warm overnight. The curtains around my bed weren’t quite big enough to provide full privacy while sleeping.

Really comfortable stay for a hostel, the single room has everything that's needed. Easy to park outside, coffee, tea, cereals and cookies available for breakfast in the dining area.

The room was just next to the dorm room - someone woke me up in the middle of the night desperately trying to get inside - I guess they thought it was the dorm room so maybe larger signs on the doors would help
