Beautiful setting, lovely welcoming atmosphere, wonderful food—and a 5 minute walk to stunning Brackley Beach. A perfect location from which to enjoy the best of PEI. Also a perfect place to stay put and simply enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. An ideal vacation spot.

Internet connection can be iffy but this adds to the relaxing feel of the place and helps you unplug from the world—so not a bad thing at all when you are on vacation. Could be a problem though for people who are attached to their devices.

The included breakfast was really good, typical hotel breakfast with bacon, eggs, fruit and yogurt, pancakes and juice and coffee. There’s a trail that takes you 5 minutes to walk directly to the beach and the hotel is right on the water. There is also a boat house that you can use with canoes and kayaks! There were seating outside to relax and there was also a fire pit that you could use. The lobby was beautiful with lots of seating and there were cards and board games you could play. There was also beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas that you could use to take to the beach.

The hotel is historic so there are carpet in the rooms. I hadn’t realized it was historic when I booked it but it was still beautiful, I had just hoped there was a mini fridge to put some food in the room since breakfast was only 8-10am and dinner didn’t start til 5:30pm. I didn’t have a vehicle when I stayed here so it would have been nice to be able to keep lunch in my room since the hotel isn’t in walking distance from anything. There was wifi but it pretty much didn’t work the few days I was staying there so that’s something to consider if you plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel/room and want internet.

Fantastic, peaceful property within walking distance to the PEI National Park, Brackley Beach. Good, convenient, reasonably priced restaurant on site. Breakfast is included for those staying in the Inn or cabins without kitchens. Access to canoe and kayaks. We were to store our bikes when not using. Personable staff

The Inn is a little dated, like stepping back in time. Portable AC in room.

The chalet was beautiful - looked brand new although Rob (the owner) said they were 23 years old. Lots of space around the Chalet no one was right close by. They offered a group fire pit but we never made it over. They have chairs, umbrellas & towels to bring to the beach. We had chairs & an umbrella but borrowed a couple beach towels. One of my sisters & my friend have mobility issues so Rob offered to drive us to the beach (5 min walk) on a golf cart & gave me the number to call when we were ready to come back to the chalet so they could pick us back up! Very accommodating!! FYI there is no air conditioning but if you lower the Windows in the heat of the day & close the drapes then open both up at night time there is a beautiful breeze off the water to cool the place down. There is a fire place in the living room that was all set to light although we didn’t use it, it looks very nice. Not a lot of noise - no loud partying. It was a very nice place!

Mosquitoes & Ants. You can’t do much about nature. Owner said he sprays for mosquitoes & once we wiped off the counter most ants were gone but Rob came by anyways & sprayed & set out some ant traps for us. Didn’t see any ants after that! Mosquitoes weren’t as bad on our 2nd day (maybe there was more wind) but then they were bad again on the morning we were checking out.

The location was beautiful, the staff friendly. Low key, quiet. Walk to a beautiful beach within a national park. Just lovely.

We had some tiny ants in our cottage's kitchen. Not a big deal. WiFi at the cottage was not particularly fast and would drop occasionally. Would love to see an EV charger, especially if there was one at each cottage. Even a low-power one.

Shaws hôtel is a real gem. I am more than happy to have found it. We had to check in after midnight but we were easily accommodated . It is situated in a perfect area. We stayed in a cottage and it was clean and comfortable. Even if the weather was a bit gloomy for two days we were able to enjoy our cottage. I will come back for sure ! Thankyou for a perfect stay .

The location was awesome! There was a 10 minute walk to Brackley beach … a beautiful, long, sandy beach( and they provided beach towels and beach chairs). The property itself was lovely. Buffet breakfast was very good. Our room (in the hotel) had a charming old-timey feel.

The window ac unit was noisy. Dinner and cocktails at the restaurant were just okay, not great, although the outdoor seating was quite lovely.

The main purpose of our stay on PEI was to visit Anne of Green Gables place. This 19th-century hotel was just the thing to get us in the "atmosphere"! We really appreciated the professionalism of the team, the cleanliness and calm of this accommodation.

I loved the old time feel of the property. Charming, family and dog friendly property. Great breakfast options, helpful staff and a short walk to the beach. Overall great vibe. I highly recommend.

Mosquitoes were crazy at night but front desk supplied bug spray!

Unbeatable location and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming! the garden is wide and beautiful and we were happy to enjoy our breakfast in the sun on the terrace. they provide beach towels, foldable chairs and umbrellas against the sun to take to the beach for the day. the building and rooms are quaint and very charming.

Unfortunately, the internet was slow/not working/ disruptive. there are very (!) limited vegetarian options for breakfast (most of them sugary and/or fatty) and no vegan options (apart from pieces of melon and apples). The breakfast options are also a bit awkward and portions are small. You could technically have French toast or pancakes everyday, if that’s your favorite breakfast, but everybody else might be a bit disappointed. also the toilet flush in our room was a bit outdated and we had to fix it manually every day. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay because the location and friendliness of the staff overruled these issues.
