It is a classy, beautiful place. The room is spacious and clean. It’s in downtown and within walking distance to many attractions, supermarkets/stores and restaurants. Feeling safe in the area. We felt welcomed the moment we got off the cab front of the hotel. Breakfast was great - eggs are made to order and enough choices and variety to kick start the day. The staff were friendly. They spoke good English. Would definitely come again when visiting Santiago again

Lovely boutique hotel with hard working, friendly staff

At checkout despite having tourist exemption tax free the hotel still wanted to charge the tourist tax fee if we paid using a debit card. This was not expected or explained by them at any stage until checkout. Many other hotels did not charge this fee. Apparently the charge was passed on to the customer because we used bookings and did not book direct with the hotel. Yet if we paid by credit card we were exempt from the tourist tax. Very disappointing by the hotel to enforce the tourist tax fee when other hotels waved it for international travellers.

We particularly liked the rooftop patio and bar, where we had a very good dinner one evening. The breakfast buffet & service were also excellent in the mornings in the indoor restaurant space on the ground floor. The rooftop also proved to be an excellent place to retreat from the very hot (30C+) days for a late afternoon/early evening drink--typically a very refreshing non-alcoholic cocktail--before dinner elsewhere. In other respects the hotel lives up to its 5-start rating, and is very well located for many central city sites. But be aware that this area of downtown can be somewhat unsafe at night, or so we were warned by multiple locals, and the streets appeared relatively empty in the evenings. When traveling to several of the best Santiago restaurants that were typically not nearby we followed local advice and took Ubers without any problems.

Our only minor issue was that the lighting was rather dim in our room, and there were not enough hooks in the bathroom for toilet bags and robes. But these two issues seem to be true of many modern, upscale hotels.

Front desk staff was amazing. Randi, Paul, actually all of the staff were terrific. Very helpful, friendly, polite, and extending. Even the doormen were great. Hotel has a sophisticated, boutique vibe. Very striking architectural details were prevalent throughout the property. Room and bed were very comfortable. No view at all, but plenty of exterior light. Bathroom was spacious and well stocked with plenty of fresh towels. Rooftop restaurant and bar were inviting and food was excellent. There was a complementary open bar in lobby area that was nice for grabbing a cordial on the way up to our room. Complimentary breakfast was served in a very comfy well decorated room. Lots of fresh choices and eggs to order. The Eggs Benedict were excellent.

No drawers in room but nice closets.

The location is perfect - right next to Cerro Santa Lucia and Lastarria, with many bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were also brilliant - very friendly and willing to assist with anything. Particular thanks to Carlos who helped us with our bags. The room was very comfortable and clean and the rooftop bar is also nice.

The room is a little dark, which is an unfortunate and unavoidable consequence of the design of the hotel. Important to note we had a superior room and this would likely not be an issue for any rooms above that grade which had a balcony or were street facing, for example. Another minor point was that there was an overpowering smell of cheap air freshener in the breakfast room which was not pleasant. Other than that, the breakfast was a very good standard.

The property is just stunning. The hotel itself is amazing…the decor throughout is really beautiful - modern and fresh but still with a classical feel. Our room was fantastic - very spacious and light and very well appointed throughout. The food in the hotel was excellent - the breakfast was fabulous and the food and drinks in the rooftop bar were also great. The rooftop bar has a great vibe - we spend a lot of time there enjoying the view and the great relaxing environment. The hotel is without a doubt spectacular - truly 5 star - but it’s their incredible people that really take it to the next level. Just to mention a few amazing team members - Agustin and Randi on the front desk, Matias, Edward, Fernando, Sebastian and Pedro in the restaurants, and Gabriel and Felipe on the door…but every staff member was friendly, personable, and incredibly helpful. Customer service overall at the hotel was exceptional.

Gorgeous, recently renovated building with character. Beautiful, clean rooms. Free wine bar. We are so glad we stayed here. The service was impeccable and the breakfast was delicious. Located very centrally in a safe and bustling part of Santiago. When we told them we were leaving early (before breakfast), Raul had the kitchen make us breakfast to go. Don’t hesitate, stay at Hotel Magnolia.

This is a fantastic hotel and I’m so delighted we stayed there. It’s in a league of its own. The service was exceptional and staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with great yoghurts and muesli, nuts, seeds, eggs, cold cuts and bread. We had dinner at rooftop restaurant one night. Also very good. Beds large and comfortable. The building has been tastefully redesigned as a hotel with cute, intimate spaces. There’s a lolly jar and drinks in library. I liked the central location near good restaurants and museums and near the metro. What more can I say!

Couple of small things:The paper napkins, although embossed with hotel logo were cheap and very small. Loo roll not great either

Staff was very friendly told us to try the Pisco Sour on the Rooftop Terrace Bar which we did right after arriving! It was soooo good we had several. The young musician in the bar was very talented and it was fun to see his family cheering him on. The room was large, clean and modern and the bathroom huge. They also did the nicest thing that we didn't even ask for. We had a late flight (11pm... after a 12 day cruise) and were going to leave our 6 bags of luggage at the desk for the day but they called and let us "stay" in the room! So after we walked around Santiago all day we were able to shower and organize for the flight home before the taxi arrived, that they arranged and charged to the room. Made the forlorn end to our long vacation much more pleasant. Highly Recommend!!

The closet was a bit small, mostly b/c I had a huge hanging bag. The Terrace Bar does allow smoking, but we were able to move far enough away so it worked out.

Really well located for bars restaurants cafes and the Plaza de Armas. This hotel is so interesting , beautifully designed with nice spacious rooms . The staff are so friendly and helpful and really do everything possible to ensure you have a good stay. Breakfast is beautifully presented in an atrium style dining area . There is a lounge area to sit and browse an array of books with a free glass of fizz early evening. We enjoyed dinner on the roof terrace. When we had early starts the kitchen provided us with a packed breakfast and also organised pick up from the airport and back to the airport, as we used the hotel as abase between trips to Atacama Desert and Easter Island .

There is nothing to dislike or complain about. We’ve booked to stay here again in March 2025
