I’ve been traveling to Beijing for 12 years and stayed in nearly all the nice hotels. I tried the CHAO on this trip - it’s absolutely the best hotel in Beijing for many reasons- it’s a very cool building, the experience is more like staying in your own studio apartment- it’s absolutely spotlessly clean- the position in Sanlitun is ideal - and importantly the staff are wonderful - an absolute joy to stay there I’m already planning my next stay in November.

The place is beautifully decorated, there are some exhibitions in the hall. The staff is friendly even if they do not speak English they are always trying to help. The breakfast is amazing, there is a large choice with Asian, continental and healthy type of food, very high quality, freshly made. The location is perfect, easy access to all main attractions of Beijing via the metro or with a short and cheap taxi ride. The room was big and had all the necessary accessories to feel home, very comfy bed and large shower. Very clean and new

Nothing. All very good. Maybe a SPA would have been nice to have in the structure but they recommended one 8min walk from the hotel which was absolutely perfect

I love everything about this hotel! The cool reception, the architecture used in every corner of the building, the decoration details, and the furniture are beautifully designed. The staff was excellent, super attentive to all our needs; a place full of beautiful details, nothing was left out. Quiet rooms, super comfortable beds, and pillows. Breakfast was also delicious and generous, with three different menus: an occidental, a local, and a healthy one, but also a buffet. The hotel is close to a shopping mall with many good places to eat, shop, and cafes. Super fun to walk around.

The toilet paper; however, I imagine it is due to the fact that the hotel tries to be ecological and pays attention to recycling.

The hotel's location was amazing. The staff were very nice during our stay. Breakfast have plenty of choices.

The room needs a little bit of touch up. When we came the electric blind was broken, it could not go down so they sent the technician to fix it. We stayed in the Suite 80 with seperate bedroom, living area and dining area. The wierd thing is all the lights are connected with 1 switch so you can't independantly turn on or off just one area of the room. So when my son is sleeping in the bedroom the lights are all off for the entire place. I can't turn on the lights in the living area or else the bedroom light will also turn on. The corner sofa beside the dining area was filled with cookie crumbs underneath the backrest pillow. It seems the cleaning lady didn't inspect very well.

The hotel has it's very own artistic atmosphere and personality. The rooms and beds are really comfortable, with all usual amenities provided. There was even a little bed and a water bowl for our dog. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our special thanks goes to Warren, the assistant manager, his team at the breakfast lounge (I recommend the French egg and orange toast) and to the reception young ladies and men. There's also a nice piano bar with live jazz music.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Great location for chilling around the city also everything is close by. Loved the room and the hotel itself.

Two things I would add. It says on the booking that the check in is 24/7 available, and yes, but if you come before 10:30 you gotta pay up extra which is quite a hassle after those early morning flight arrivals. And my biggest nuisance of the hotel is the hairdryers, guys just upgrade them all to Dyson and you end up with a round 10 from me! I just can’t stand a hairdryer of which the cable is so heavy, it flies out from the electric outlet 🤣 but guys go stay there. It’s great!

The location is excellent. Walking distance to Salitun SoHo and Tai Ko Li. The hotel is beautiful, artistically presented and great attention to details. The sheets and bed are excellent. The mini bar with all sort of juice and drinks and snacks are free for guests. The design of room is very clever and homely. Lots of storage space and sliding doors to create space. The bar below has an excellent band and food and cocktails. The staff are all very polite and attentive. Not a moment wasted. No extra nonsensical words or gesture, simply get what you need without delay attitude. Love this hotel and the vibe.

The free wifi for guest is very very weak. I can’t really send or receive anything. Relied on my phone 4/5G data for roaming.

The breakfast offered was the highlight for us at the Chao. It was diverse and delightful with plenty of options to choose from without being overwhelming.

The hotel itself was fantastic but unless your interest is in shopping the location wasn't ideal for first timer's interested in exploring Beijing and being close to cultural sites. However, given transport is very easy in Beijing getting around was not an issue.

The room was spacious and nice and clean. The air conditioning worked great. All the staff were very helpful, especially Dominic and the manager. They were both very helpful and gave good advice on everything. All the staff spoke good English. The restaurant and bar at this hotel were very good. This is a hotel in Beijing that I would consider staying at every time I am in Beijing.

The only downside is that the bed is too soft. This hotel should have a firmer bed topper.

The hotel is in a great location, very convenient to many shopping and great restaurants. The rooms were huge, very comfortable and clean. The staff was the best part of the hotel, they were all so helpful and kind. Keep up the great work. Highly recommended

The gym could was spacious enough that more equipments could be added. The breakfast was decent but it could get boring after a few days
