I chose this hotel, especially for the view, given that the length of stay was short. Reading the reviews & notes, I had some “emotions”. Subsequent conclusions: first of all, I do not understand the criticisms brought, respectively I cannot relate to most of them; secondly, I had an unforgettable experience through the varied breakfast, cleanliness, location and the hotel staff (very helpful and sociable). Thus, the quality-price ratio is a very good one. The pictures on the website correspond to reality, so that just because the furniture is not new, does not mean that a hotel is not good (make a distinction).
The grade I gave is not the highest because I think that certain details in the room should be improved & more carefully finished.

The hotel is situated on the beach , it’s an idyllic location with beautiful views across the bay from the balcony restaurant and bar . There’s a bus stops right outside the hotel which will take you to the old town in 15 minutes . The staff are friendly and very helpful and the hotel is clean and comfortable
There are no fridges in the rooms and no available water fountain to refill a bottle , the hotel advises that the tap water is drinkable however it is tepid and doesn’t taste fresh . There is fresh water available at breakfast however you are not allowed to fill a bottle from this tap and once breakfast is finished all water is 6 Euros for a small bottle even at dinner . I find this unacceptable ,fresh drinking water should be freely available in all hotels as a matter of health and safety particularly when the weather is so hot and from an environmental point of view I am horrified at being encouraged to buy numerous plastic bottles .

This is a prime example of how an older hotel with average but quality renovation can shine due to its exceptional staff and their attitude. We spent four wonderful days in early May at this hotel with our family. The breakfasts are great, though we missed having fresh vegetables. Overall, the food was standard and satisfying. The staff at the hotel is simply wonderful—polite, helpful, and attentive! Everyone we interacted with went above and beyond to address our questions and problems. When my wife was ill and we asked for a kettle to heat water for tea, they brought us not only a kettle but also medicines, honey, and lemon. For my daughter's birthday, they surprised us with a delicious cake that wasn't even on the restaurant menu. The hotel's location is fantastic! It’s near the beach and the central Babiego Street, which is perfect for strolling. The coastline is also great for walks, and there's a bus stop nearby that takes you to the Old Town in 20 minutes. However, the hotel is not suitable for disabled guests or those with mobility issues, as there are many steps and no elevators or ramps. Families with children might find it challenging as there are limited activities apart from the beach. Overall, we are very satisfied with the hotel! The price-quality ratio is excellent!
The only things we didn't like were the bed and the door handles—I was tempted to buy some WD-40 and fix them myself

Hi everyone. We were staying in Hotel Vis. Room including balcony was located on the third floor. Very comfortable room. But main thing in whole Hotel Vis was staff/service. I want to say big thank you for Vesna Tadic - Front Office Manager. The right person on right position which means for us: perfect service, very helpful and very friendly person, no problems at all. Very professional behaviour. Reception: Just amazing service on reception every time from incredible nice guy Matey/Matej. We did not have to ask about anything. He was such a friendly and helpful with everything (perfect service). And I just want to say few words about nice, quiet lady Slavica (cleaning lady). Slavica is the best cleaning Lady ever!!! This lady is just like sunshine in the morning. Every time when we were leaving room to go for breakfast she couldn't wait to clean our room. The room was perfectly clean in 100% everyday. But also Slavica gave us every day big smile on her face, and that small thing made our day happy. Thanks for that all of you guys. And remeber: the place, weather, food are very important when you are on holiday, but people like Vesna Tadic, Matej, Slavica make you to comeback to the same place again. Thank you. Long live Chorvacka. Greetings from Ireland.

The staff are nice and friendly, and the view from the hotel is calm and peaceful—perfect for relaxing, which was one of the reasons we chose it. You can easily order a Bolt to the Old Town for around 5–7 euros, which was super convenient.
The hotel has kind of old facilities and maybe needs some improvement. The shower is a bit small, with no exhaust or window. The room is not soundproof—you can hear people from the hallway, and even when you’re in the toilet, you can hear other guests. Breakfast was okay, but during our 3-day stay, the food choices were exactly the same. Apparently, they don’t change the options. Also, not recommended for older people or those with disabilities—the hotel has about 3 floors and no elevator. Good thing our room was on the first floor.

I recently stayed at Hotel Vis in Dubrovnik and had a mostly pleasant experience. The staff were very polite and helpful, and the hotel was spotlessly clean. One of the best features is the beautiful terrace shaded by olive trees—an ideal spot to unwind and take in the view. The hotel also has a wonderful beachfront, which makes it easy to enjoy the sea just steps from your room.
However, a major downside was the unpleasant smell coming from the sewage collector at night. It was quite strong and unfortunately affected the otherwise relaxing atmosphere. If that issue were addressed, Hotel Vis would be an excellent choice. As it stands, it’s still a good option for those looking for a clean, friendly hotel with direct beach access and a charming outdoor space.

• Fantastic location, very convenient and in a beautiful area • Lovely beach, great for relaxing • Excellent breakfast with plenty of variety • Overall atmosphere of the hotel Hotel Vis is an amazing hotel with a lot of potential. A few modern upgrades and added guest comforts would make it truly perfect.
• Rooms could use an update to feel more modern • Still using traditional keys instead of key cards • No fridge in the rooms, which is unusual nowadays • No complimentary water provided in the rooms upon arrival • Beach beds are not included—you have to rent them separately (common in Europe, but offering discounts or benefits for hotel guests would be a nice improvement)

The location on the beach is absolutely incredible and such a great price. We opted for a sea view room which meant for such a lovely view across the cove. The hotel staff were all really lovely and accommodating, and the breakfast buffet had a fantastic spread. There is a bus stop literally right outside the hotel which takes you all the way into the old town within 15 minutes, but also within a 10 minute walk around the cove there is a strip of restaurant and bars. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend the hotel Vis to friends.
The aircon really needs upgrading as it wasn’t to the same standard as anywhere else we stayed and was hard to sleep in. The rest of the amenities are perfectly fine but could do with upgrading eg the bathrooms.

I liked the location, it was quiet and peaceful, away from the very touristy areas (e.g. old town) but I also visited prior to peak season. Outdoor area was nice, great views - however would’ve been good to have designated NON-smoking areas outside as smokers deterred me from using the outdoor alfresco areas :( and there were a lot of them! Shout out to Josko, one of the bar men, he was friendly and helpful when I wanted to watch the football and couldn’t find the channel.
No elevators to take luggage to room, lots of stairs making it difficult to safely move luggage - I am young and fit and I struggled so I don’t know how older people would manage this. The rooms were never cleaned properly, and done “in a rush” The buffet breakfast had great selection of food, however the hot food was never “hot” or even “warm” mostly it was cold - which was disappointing. Knowing there’s a lot of food to produce - keeping the tray tops on top couldve easily solved this issue, so I settled for cold breakfast options. I did one evening meal at the hotel, however same issue, cold food, and was not value for money, would recommend the restaurant strip instead.

The staff were great and very helpful. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the bay which afforded a beautiful view. The hotel is spacious and in a great location. You could eat as much as you liked with their a buffet style breakfast. It is a bus ride into the old town but there are plenty of good bars and restaurants near by.
The hotel is a bit dated and various things were being painted and repaired when we were there. The Adriatic is beautiful but there are ugly concrete platforms, steps and half derelict buildings along the front near the hotel.
