The suite we were upgraded to (for free) was definitely the most beautiful hotel suite we have ever stayed in. And we travel a good deal. The room itself It was nicer than the over the water suite we stayed at in Bora Bora four years ago. The staff was so helpful and amazing, the breakfast was great. We kind of felt like royalty the whole time we were there.

The only drawback I can think of was that the shower was a bit dated and uncomfortable compared to the opulence of the rest of the bathroom and suite overall.

The hotel is perfectly placed and you can reach it within 20-25 minutes from the Airport not depending on the traffic. It is a historical building which makes it even more pleasing. The personnel is helpful and does their best to fulfil your need. What is also important in the old building - the shower and amount of water for washing was perfect!

Even though we came before 15:00 we placed information that our flight is early, we were several times told that the room is to be ready soon, but stayed in Lobby from 9 till 15 with no chance for early checkin (including my personal request for Room upgrade in order to have some rest quicker).

Service throughout the hotel, Decor of the Hotel, Language skills (English), Cleaning, Restaurant, Breakfast, Easy parking, Corridors and Furniture in general, the Wellness area - everything was furnished with such a good taste - and the room was SO nicely decorated with the possibility of dimming the light in all 6 lamps!, sufficient number of electrical outlets, with the possibility of making the room 100% dark, mosquito net, and the Bathroom was absolutely "Over the top" with: Heater for the towels (and it was switched on), heating in the floor, both a tub and a shower, good and descaled showers, good products in general in the bathroom including conditioner and all you may need in toiletries, fog-free mirror (and/or good ventilation), towels in different sizes (and enough of them) - high, high, high QUALITY in everything!!!

A magnificent experience which exceeded even our highest expectations. Stayed for a significant anniversary and it was wonderful to wake up in such a gorgeous room overlooking the lake. Every member of staff was a consummate professional and went out of their way to help us as much as they could. Dinner in the Grill was particularly excellent, being both relaxed and laid back, whilst offering impeccable service and dining. A magical trip overall and would reccomend to anyone looking for a first-class experience in Hamburg.

Whilst familair with a similar standard of restaurant, dinner in the Haerlin restaurant went on for so many hours that in the end we had to simply abandon the final coffee and petit fours in order to get to bed (around midnight, having begun at 19:30). The food was, as one would expect, incredible, but the overall experience was let down by the very long delays between courses (with obvious frustration visible from other diners as well) and the realisation that there would, at that pace, be no time to enjoy a stroll after the meal. Had we known this was the model, we would have avoided it in favour of eating at one of other excellent options in the hotel, others may have enjoyed it nevertheless.

Is it better to have loved and then lost, or to never have loved at all? That is this hotel experience in a nutshell. Everything was exceptional from the pillows to the concierge, to the hotel Grill and the ambience. The staff was exceptionally friendly at reception. The rooms were incredibly large, clean, and well-furnished. The beds are turned down for the night and you quite literally sink into the pillows like Goldilocks. There were also an abundance of amenities from the obligatory toilitries, to complimentary sewing kits and snacks/wine upon arrival. The stay also included laundry and shoe shine service, conveniently made available within the room. Attention to detail is an obvious utmost priority here! The Hotel Grill was another phenomenal experience. Our server(s) (a young blonde gentleman and another young man with a crystal tennis bracelet) were knowledgeable and accommodated our tight schedule. The food was a delight, we had the chateau briande and the truffle-parmesan pasta. Even the doormen were so incredibly kind and helpful, assisting us without hesitation and seeing that we got where we needed to be with a taxi no more than 5 minutes away at any given time. I truly did not want to leave, and I found myself wanting to live here like The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. 10/10!!!

Quite literally the only thing amiss was the shower door in my room (306) creaked REALLY loud when I opened/closed it. C'est la vie.

This is a gloriously fancy hotel - not trendy or modern at all, but meticulously clean and beautiful. There is luxury everywhere, from the high-end bathroom products to the plush robes, from the chandeliers to the chocolate truffles. We only stopped here for one night during our travels and didn't have time to use the spa, which is a pity!

We were only here very briefly and, honestly, it was all great. I can't really think of anything to put here. I suppose it would be helpful if there was a plug socket or charger next to the bed...

Such an iconic place to be... beautifully decorated for Christmas, most outstanding cuisine and bar, immeculate rooms and service. Great shower, supercomfy bed. Fantastic staff, on all levels. Happy to come back.

The master room switch... that diabolical invention... if your spouse uses it to turn off the lights in the room before sleeping, (as I couldn't think of any other way than switching each light off individually, and who does that these days?) a trip to the bathroom at night becomes an adventure... and not a good one... Alternatively, one could use "The Devil's Switch" to turn the lights back on, if only it wouldn't engulf the room in one giant super-nova, blinding everybody for next 4 minutes, whilst having to listen to once screaming banshee of a wife uttering profanities and curses in ones direction... Exchange the master switch please... or set it up that the individual lights can still be operated. In the bathroom for instance?

Location is perfect, staff were amazing, housekeeping was spot on.

A little expensive compared to other 5 star hotels, a swimming pool would've been nice. We had an issue with the heater and wanted to turn it off but had to wait for 2 days cause it needed a technicial to do that and there was none during the weekend. I needed to go outside for a smoke from time to time and the room key was huge and heavy to carry but wasn't worth leaving at it at the reception for 5 minutes everytime. Despite that, we had a wonderful time and would go back again.

I liked the beautifully equipped gym, discrete turndown service, lake views, exquisite cocktails at the Martini Bar and innovative food at Nikkei Nine.

I liked everything but would have loved a bath in the room, turndown with some camomile tea options or cocoa would have been lovely too.

It is an imazing place in each and every detail+ very convenient location. I travel a lot, and I can say it is second to none among hotels. The restaurants located in the hotel is a very unique experience, taste and service. The hotel will defenitely meet expectations of the most demanding guests.
