Fantastic location, close to Praia da Rocha, but quiet and calm. Fantastic view over the marina. The room was very comfortable, including the bed. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was vast and delicious (we stayed B&B). The main pool is great for a swim and relaxing - it's very salty so just floating is easy!

The cleaners didn't do the best job, during our week stay we requested clean towels on day 4 or 5 and our damp towels were replaced with even dirtier towels. A few of the cleaners came across as unhappy to see guests, but most were smiley and happy. The room could do with a chair or two, and the bathroom was very tired looking.

Ideal location for those looking to be close by the beach and there is a lovely walk along the boardwalk on the beach. Staff were pleasant, place was clean and cleaners would come back a second time if you did not want to be disturbed on the morning round, they were doing the round. Plenty selection of options for breakfast, whatever you wished they most likely had an option. They provided towels if you wished for the pool by just handing over a card which is given on checkin and free parking service (if renting) you just pay €10 deposit for the card to let you out at the barrior and they gove back at check-out when retuning the card.

As noted from comments we had seen prior to booking regarding the pool, pool was huge but very cold, not heated which gave for a shock on first step in. Although accommodation was lovely, the appliances and some furniture could do with a bit of an upgrade as slightly dated.

Location is amazing. 1 minute from the beach. Huge supermarket 7 mins away by uber. Friendly staff from reception to the dinner. Amazing room, felt spacious with great views. There is nothing not to like about this place.

Food was average overall. Perhaps I am used to 5* star hotels that normally provide loads of variety. Dinner: REALLY bland food with very few options. The restaurant is usually empty and I went in August. My advise go and eat at local restaurants, more choice and much better. It's also not that expensive. Breakfast was nice-Lots of fruit, cakes, crossaints.

Unique hotel next to the marine with colorful buildings. I was in one of the Marina Sun rooms which is about a 7 minute walk from the main building. Balcony in the sun was wonderful with a view of the marina. The location is a bit far from everything, but not a problem for me as I like to walk and the quiet. They have a golf cart service to bring you to the beach, which is great. The room was sunny and large with a comfy bed and sofa bed. Breakfast is excellent. So many different options, warm and cold, sweet and savoury . I was a bit sceptical at first, but they even have a lot of vegan options. Perfect stay for a short stay in Portimao!

The kitchenette is super basic. There were no tea towels, washing up liquid and only one pan you could use for soup. It's not much use other than making a salad or sandwich or heating up your take away. The marina and parking lot next to the hotel is public space and several times during my stay, people would take their cars for a spin and play loud music at night. If you are a light sleeper like me, not ideal for a good night's sleep.

Beautiful pool area. Lovely rooms and balcony. We moved from marina sun to marina beach and glad we did as there would be a longer walk from there to the beach area. The beds were super comfortable. Really interesting incentive to reduce the amount of housekeeping. If you don’t need housekeeping some of the days of your stay you get a free drink. Breakfast was possibly the best brekkie I’ve ever had in a hotel. Super close to the beach and the main road in Praia da rocha ( bar the hills and steps) and super close to the beach club. They also provided us with a cot for our baby.

Feels like it is in need of a bit of a spruce up in areas. I think they are mid doing that though. Can be a little loud in the evenings. We could hear music 1 or 2 nights. Not too loud so didn’t bother us too much but there is a road nearby that had loud bikes going up and down. The doors aren’t designed to keep out noise. The pool isn’t heated and was therefore quite cold for young kids.

Smart hotel, location was fantastic right on the marina with lots of facilities within walking distance, such as cafes, corner shop, beach, restaurants and boat trips etc. The one bedroom apartment was spacious with a view of the marina, breakfast wsa plentiful and good quality, lovely local atmosphere with many Portuguese staying at the resort

Charging for coffee pods in the room when the tea was complimentary, no clothes line over the bath or on the balcony for swimear to dry and limited space for the kids to unpack in the lounge area

From the welcome check-in to the goodbye checkout, the staff in every department of this hotel made the experience even better - and a special mention to the excellent reception staff who looked after our requests and transported us around the resort in the buggy. The hotel itself is a sprawling complex on a marina, ideally positioned between Portimao and Praia da Rocha, with easy access to beaches, restaurants, bars, shopping etc. The seafood cuisine in the area is superb. The rooms are apartment-style with self catering facilities. They are modern and very clean with a small kitchen area and a balcony overlooking the marina. Cleaning takes place daily and again the staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant complex has a great choice of breakfast buffet items and there’s a separate a la carte restaurant. The swimming pools are very pleasant and relaxing and positioned to get the sun all day - they were never too busy and we could always find loungers. There is so much to do from this hotel base: walking, beaches cycling, water sports, boat trips, shopping, dining etc, there really is a lot to do. There is a great-vibe beach club next to the hotel, with cocktails, cabanas, food, drinks. Also, along the entire beach strip there are bars and restaurants to cater for everyone. I would thoroughly recommend a trip by water taxi to Ferragudo village, where there are many excellent bars shops and restaurants - in particular, I would recommend dining at Borda do Cais and Brunch in Rio. Overall this was an excellent five day break in beautiful sunshine and surroundings. I’m sure you will have a great time.

I just want to thank everyone at NH Portimao Marina Hotel for looking after me and my daughter from 20-23 May 2024. Everyone was so helpful from the staff at the reception who went above and beyond for us, to the guy who works at the emergency team who came to help call ambulance when my daughter shoved a Lego up her nose (sorry I don’t know your name but you know who you are). I also want to thank the whole team at The Marina Deck restaurant for doing EVERYTHING in their power to help me and my daughter. I can’t express how grateful I am, honestly I am writing this with a tear in my eye from how grateful I am. My 4 year old daughter has autism as well as coeliac disease so feeding her is very difficult as she can only eat gluten free and she can have quite bad tantrums when she is not comfortable. On day 1 when this happened at Dinner the lady Maria I think her name was (curly hair and glasses) was so so so helpful and the gentleman who worked with her that day. They did everything they could when they saw I was struggling with my daughter. Maria then spoke to her colleagues to make sure they all know my daughter has special needs and therefore they did everything to accommodate her. On my third dinner visit a lady called Carla helped us because she was advised by Maria of my daughters condition, she gave us a table at the back in a quiet area and she served the buffet dinner to us directly. She put the tv on for my daughter on a cartoon channel and asked the chef to make my daughter gluten free potato chips (fries) with gluten free ketchup as she saw I was struggling to feed her what was on the menu. These two ladies Maria and Carla deserve big praise for their amazing efforts and I left them both a tip with their colleague at the front desk so I hope they receive it. Again thank you to everyone in NH Portimao Resort. I couldn’t be more grateful to all of you for making my daughters holiday an amazing one.

Nothing, it was all amazing.. I have been to many 5 star resorts all over the world but this 4 star resort had the best customer service I have ever experienced. I will definitely recommend you to everyone.

The location on the river is exceptional, with beautiful views.The room was cleaned to perfection every day.The staff was the most helpful, kind, and friendly we have ever experienced when on holiday. The room was nice with comfortable bed and handy kitchen.. Ride to far off restaurant in cart very helpful. The breakfast was very good. Room service food delicious and high quality.

Ridiculous bedside table lamps which kept falling over. Lack of kitchen utensils and dishes. ( had to call restaurant to get more). Lighting was way too low. Showers ONLY in bathtubs, despite info online saying bath OR shower.
