Most of the staff were very friendly and accomodating, the cleaners especially were quick and efficient and did a very thorough job. The room size was really big and was great for a couple. The location was right on the beach with only a very short walk down some stairs to be sea side. Lastly it lived up to its name with most people were at least 30 and not a child in sight.

My biggest problem is that when we booked 3 months before we specifically asked to arrange a late checkout and were told to ask when we arrived. When we did this, they advised to ask on the morning of our checkout at which point were told that it was not possible. We were even willing to pay extra and still despite all this warning the hotel could not figure anything out. The dinner buffet was overpriced, at €30 the quality was not really good enough to justify it, while the breakfast was very repitive and it would be nice to have a few more options that they rotated.

There’s so much to love about this place - I’d definitely recommend it if you’re after a more chilled experience. The food was absolutely delicious and really high quality, the hotel was clean and the views were just stunning, with direct access to a gorgeous beach. Some of the highlights for us was the lovely clean pool and the live music during meals - soft piano at breakfast and some really chilled live bands at dinner on some evenings. There wasn’t any loud entertainment, which we quite liked, though it might be nice if they offered a bit more variety in the evenings - maybe the occasional show or something a little different now and then.

Just a quick note, as it’s not very clear on the booking page - drinks aren’t included with dinner as part of the half board option. That’s all drinks, even still water, so you’ll need to pay extra for those. Thought I’d flag it in case it catches you off guard too - we’ve not come across this at other hotels before. Also, we noticed quite a lot of little flies in the room when we arrived - especially in the bathroom at first, and then later we spotted them all over the curtains too. We didn’t have any food in the room and while they didn’t bite or buzz around us, it wasn’t the nicest thing.

The general parts of the hotel are lovely. The main hallway that has most of the rooms off it is very well presented with a water feature and lots of cosy seating areas. The room was nice and spacious but was a bit dark so needed a ceiling light instead of just lamps. The location is good - it has direct access to the beach and is at the quieter end of a busy road with lots of bars/restaurants/shops.

Breakfast was pretty average. It was included in the price of the room so I can't tell if it's good value. The choice of food was ok but the fruit juice wasn't very nice (too watery), the coffee from the machine didn't taste like proper coffee and they ran out of some items (like croissants/donuts) before the end of the breakfast session.

Slow and unreliable Wi-Fi, lack of bed type guarantee, short and unnecessary dining slots, long waiting time for room service (bathrobes and ironing board), awful coffee and orange juice in a country of oranges and great coffee - unacceptable

Great and beautiful hotel in oriental style for escaping from the cold in Europe in November. The hotel itself isn’t too big, therefore it’s perfect for a more intimate experience. Very clean, and the staff is amazing. Food, both breakfast and dinner were excellent and the selection was changing on a daily basis. The pianist at the breakfast and different music at dinner were a great add-on too, they played at just the right volume, perfect for the ambience! There is direct access to the beach from the pool.

The hotel has five parking spots, so if they are taken, you can only park in the surrounding streets. But it was not a big deal in November, we always found free spaces in the parallel street (about 100m walk)

Location was fabulous, right above Praia da Rocha beach but to the left of the main, noisy strip so it was a lovely quiet respite from the lively bars further up the town. Great to have gated access to the boardwalk and beach. Brilliant spot for walking everywhere and getting to the boat trips and ferries. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Really nice little beauty room on site where I had some great massages, good value. Breakfast and evening meal were bufet style but excellent and coffee really good. I felt very much at home there especially on the few days I was there alone. Everyone was lovely.

everything was great tbh. The decor a bit old fashioned but still in very good condition and bathrooms modern and spotless.

The location of the AP Oriental was perfect, just a few steps to the beach, marina and city centre. A good central point in The Algarve with lots of lovely villages close by to explore using Uber. The food was fabulous, every night there were many options, 2 or 3 types of fish, meat dishes and vegetarian options . the starters were fabulous and so were the puddings. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice and always sparking wine on offer! The hotel gave me cake and sparkling wine on my birthday - that was lovely! The room was huge, as was the bed and the shower. Staff were very friendly and courteous (apart from the eye roll and being ignored by one rude waitress when we turned up 1 minute before opening at 7.30 on the day we flew home but she was young and probably inexperienced in good customer service so we saw the funny side)

If I had to say something it would be that the air con wasn’t quite cold enough in the room and the sausages needed to be cooked for longer but that’s being very finicky.

The food was good. The room was large and had a good view. Also, the staff were friendly. The entertainment was very good.

The food wasn't always hot. Plates were not always hot either. The WiFi in our room wouldn’t always connect. A security light shone into our room. The music from the bar above sometime disturbed us.

Located just outside the main area and therefore away form the noise, this hotel is well appointed with comfortable and spacious rooms. A very good buffet breakfast and evening meal, with attentive and friendly staff. Beach fronted but a lovely grassed or poolside area if you wish not to venture to the beach. We found little to fault and would recommend.

We struggled to find anything negative here. If I have to pick up on something -then a blind in the bathroom as the sun was on the window for some time during the day and made the bathroom quite warm despite the air-con and maybe Netflix or internet based TV would be nice.

super breakfast, very tasty free prosecco with breakfast, beautiful view from the terrace on the beach and the ocean and live music with piano at every breakfast, 2 meter wide double bed, great location of the hotel on one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal and, for me, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world

such a perfect hotel could already have an indoor pool. I would do something with coffee. I personally did not like the coffee machine. Portugal is not exactly a country where you can enjoy coffee, and we didn't even expect that, but we found good coffee a few times in the Algarve. But we certainly forgive this hotel. Their great prosecco made up for it. I'm just looking for some little things, but in general I have nothing to complain about
