We liked amazing sunrise views a lot with our 6-month old baby. Hotel spa, heated outside pool, great breakfast, well-maintained gardens and walking paths, hotel interior architecture, and christmasy atmosphere were super cool for us. I think it’s worth travelling to Algarve just to experience this hotel.

A minor glitch: Spa personnel (or, reservation system) can be better organised as they couldn’t find our spa reservations two times although we did it via both main reception and spa reception. Luckily they still had availability to get us to spa area and we did not have any problem.

Wide and varied selection of fresh food for breakfast. Room was spacious comfortable and clean with all expected facilities.

We had paid prior to arrival. Reception requested my wife’s credit card detail on arrival to deal with any items charged to the room during our stay but proceeded to charge her card again for the full holiday cost without her knowledge or permission. The money was returned when we got back home - after lengthy discussion- but no apology was received.

Nice staff and accomodating staff that were quick to help if we had any questions. Clean rooms with nice big beds. Really great breakfast. The location is overall very nice and welcoming. We visited in the off season and could think that somethings would be closed or a little slower due to season, but it was not, which was very nice.

Rooms looks a little old. Hooks in bathroom barely holding onto the wall anymore. electrical sockets very loose in the walls. The bathroom is semi-open and there is no ventilation so the room can feel moist and get a funky smell. A/C very noisy and not effecient. The pool/pool area could do with some more cleaning. The evening restaurant delivered the worst and most expensive meal on our holiday.

I dreamt about staying at the Lake and it didn’t disappoint. Our stay was luxurious. We loved buffet breakfast, (the choice was amazing), the sun loungers with waiter service, the afternoon activities (we tried Pilates), the use of the bikes, the proximity to the beach and the marina and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff.

The balcony furniture, room woodwork and rug could have done with a spruce up before the start of the season. It didn’t detract from our luxurious, restful, relaxed stay. Can’t wait to go back soon.

Everything! The rooms are spacious, the pools are heated, the staff are all helpful and friendly. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets get changed every day. We also did half board and were impressed by the quality and variety of food, we didn’t get bored even after a week. Use of the spa is complementary and is a good size with everything you’d expect. Everything has been thought of already, from little things like chocolates appearing on the bedside table before bed to pool services providing as many towels as you need right by the sun loungers. You can charge everything to your room so you don’t need to take anything with you except your room key. The location is an easy walk to the Vilamoura marina if you’re after some nightlife/cheaper cocktails. Albufeira and Quarteira are within very easy reach by car (although we did walk to Quarteria through the marina/beach a couple of times. An Uber back was €5). We also did the tasting menu at Makris on the Lake, which was amazing; getting the wine flight is a must! It will run to €200pp but for a special occasion it’s worth doing. I really can’t emphasise enough how good the staff were, you really got the feeling nothing would be too much trouble and the high level of customer service really sets this place apart even more so than the facilities or quality of the food.

Being very nitpicky, a couple of times there was a wait queuing up to get into breakfast, but it ran from 07:00-11:00 so there was no rush.

The guest relations staff were fantastic making us feel very special when we arrived and throughout our stay. Special call out to Ineos who was exceptional with her customer service, and Catrina (may have name wrong) on reception when we arrived. Rooms, food and facilities were all great. All the staff from the cleaners to the waiters were always pleasant and helpful. Well done to the whole team!!

The only thing we did not like was the beds which we found were a little uncomfortable and at times the lighting in the rooms which could have been better.

The Lake Resort is our ‘happy place’, this was our fourth stay. Beautiful resort with incredible staff who make you happy! The food is great, the rooms are lovely, comfy beds, it is perfect. Serene, elegant, and beautifully maintained. The staff are clearly trained to smile and look after you. The best thing about The Lake Resort is that it doesn’t change, which is why we love it and will return again. And again.

There is honestly nothing we dislike about The Lake Resort.

SPA, the gym, Sauna. The SPA massage was excellent which was really relaxing. The sauna facilities are also well equipped and the indoor swimming pool are very clean and tranquility as you can use by appointment and adult only. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our room had a very big balcony with sun beds facing to the main gardenw where we we saw beautiful mornings and evenings sky every day! The breakfast buffet has a quiet range of food and especially the fruits are so fresh and juicy. We tried the dinner buffet once the it was also very delicious. Just a few minutes to the marina where many restaurants around. We enjoyed the beach walk every day and visited many fabulous restaurants and bars. The beach is on its doorstep as well. Fantastic location! We have stayed this hotel 5 times and are sure we’ll be back soon.

Breakfast was very good. Wide choice of fruits ,meats cheeses breads and lovely hummus. I like to eat quite healthy and some hotels offer limited options. The choices for me were quite imaginative. These were replenished quickly on busy times. I don’t eat hot breakfast but I did look at what was available and it looked well presented and tasty. Feeling of space in all areas, plenty of beds and good pool service. Quiet but near centre. Staff were very helpful. I forgot converters , after asking reception they brought 2 up to room for me to use.
