We had a family room with 2 bedrooms. The room was very clean and the beds were super comfy. It's not a big RIU resort, but that's nice if you don't feel like walking much. The food was good.

The food was good, but some items like veggies were almost the same every day. Not much variaty in our opinion. Always hamburgers at lunch, among other things, but you just knew what to expect. Some items also didn't taste very fresh. Breakfast leftovers at the buffet during lunch. This is something I'm not used to from RIU. They usually have great buffets. We spotted a little cockroach at the buffet in the Asian restaurant. I've mentioned this to the staff, but yeah, what to do about it during dinner? The pool is a little cold during this time of the year, but I'm sure it's very nice during spring and summer time.

Beautiful hotel very clean and staff were excellent. So friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and was spotless, cleaned to a high standard every day. The small fridge was a bonus for keeping water bottles cold. The food was excellent with a great choice every day and waiting staff were very pleasant and cleared up quickly. We ate in both the a la carte restaurants and they were also excellent with great choice of food. I really couldn’t fault this hotel at all.

Nothing. The pool towels had seen better days but that’s a very minor complaint and we could have just been unlucky with them.

We have stayed at Riu Papaya for 1 week during Christmas time. This is a great hotel to spend vacation in family, the average age was above 60. Very clean, quiet rooms and food reasonable: great variety for all 3 meals, drinks Ok, especially cocktails, spirits cheap but this is the same in all Riu hotels in Spain. The Christmas celebration dinner was excellent, beyond expectations. Staff very helpful and friendly and services great. Beach is only 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel and there is shuttle bus almost every 30 minutes. Good rapport quality/ price. Majority of the customers are German and Dutch and the TV channels are accordingly.

Very clean with a good variety of food options for the kids during their studies, as they could eat whenever they wanted whilst revising for exams. Staff were very friendly and the bar at the far end of the complex, under the rooms were very good with our son Oli and kept providing him with Latte's! The Asian and steak restaurants were fabulous and the entertainment was amazing.

The maid knocking on the door and letting herself in at 08.00 when we forgot to put the sign out and shouting at us in Spanish!

I recently stayed at Hotel Riu Papayas in Gran Canaria for three days, and it was a wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming, making check-in quick and easy. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and well-maintained, with a lively yet relaxing atmosphere. The room was spacious and comfortable, and I had all the necessary amenities, and the housekeeping service ensured everything was spotless throughout my stay. One of the highlights was the food. The buffet restaurant offered a variety of delicious dishes, catering to different tastes. There were also themed restaurants that provided a nice change from the buffet. The all-inclusive option made dining stress-free, with plenty of drinks and snacks available throughout the day. The pool area was fantastic. There was also entertainment throughout the day, including activities and live music in the evening. If you prefer the beach, the hotel provides a free shuttle service to Playa del Inglés, which was very convenient. Overall, my stay at Hotel Riu Papayas was excellent. The combination of great service, delicious food, and a comfortable stay made it a perfect short getaway. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Gran Canaria!

Comfortable beds for all three members of our group, a great variety of foods, and option for cold breakfast any time of the morning upon request, not too cold water in the big pool, walking distance to the beach, friendly and helpful staff 24/7.

Inability to pay the hotel by Wise Visa Debit card (had to withdraw money in several instalments [due to limit of the ATM] at an approx 1% fee), nighttime noise from the corridor, animator team members at times having a bit too much fun with each other when they were supposed to engage with guests (eg mini disco), smoking policy (designated/permitted areas too close to our liking, eg behind the first few rows of seats at the stage), varying quality of evening entertainment.

Clean, spacious, great pools and entertainment. Very kid friendly (food options and entertainment). Personally would have preferred more Spanish cuisine and flavors.

We booked the suite (2 bedrooms), but the bathroom had a milk glass wall adjacent to the second bedroom. So with the bathroom light on, other people in the room could see you shower. Not convenient with small kids because the light shines through to the other room. We had to brush our teeth in the dark to prevent our kid from waking up due to the light. Not a big issue to us, but an inconvenience.

Pool nice big. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. Very clean. Food and drinks are available all the time. Beach bus very comfy. Nice location near beach, stores everything.

The gym is too small. Instead of the old equipment, get a set of dumbbells and 2 benches! Food could be more various, especially the deserts were boring. The hotel parking lot is very small but you can easily find a spot in nearby public parking. People are reserving and fighting for pool chairs.

Food was awesome, I enjoyed everything I ate, fresh fruit, nice seafood, meat, ice cream, desserts. It was really good. Animators were really helpful, I would not dance without them) Alcohol was not bad)

The walls are crookedly plastered, here and there dirty. I prefer white towels to brown ones. there is no sound insulation and light insulation. In the gym it would be great to have a pole and a horizontal bar, but that's if to be nitpicky. It would also be nice to have a hair conditioner. If the bed is double, it is necessary to make it so that there are not two shifted mattresses, but one.

The All inclusive also includes genuine alcoholic drinks, not only local brands. There are coffee machines and soft drinks machines on key locations.

Too strict management of what is allowed when, like no ice cream before noon. Turning off draft and soft drinks machines after opening hours of the restaurant. The beach is a kilometer away, down the winding hill, so only really accessible via the shuttle, which was too full on occasions. The sand on the beach is actually black vulcanic sand, with some nice sand on top..
