Authentic rainforest retreat. Cabins were good size with good nets over bed and good Restaurant. Food was amazing and staff really wonderful.

Mattresses quite hard. Cabins are not sealed pods so quite a bit of wildlife visits inside. We knew we were in the rainforest but didn’t expect snakes to come into huts or such huge lizards and other insects. Staff were great at removing them but once seen, it was difficult To relax and sleep! Beds are fully netted but those We were travelling with got freaked out by bugs. Situated right on a small river tributary, but 1hrs drive from chow lakes etc so be prepared for transfers. Cottages quite out in the sticks which many guests wanted.

We loved this amazing resort in the middle of the jungle. The views overlooking the river are stunning and the resort is peaceful and beautifully decorated, blending perfectly with the greenery around it. It’s was magical to hear all the jungle sounds and spotting butterflies, lizards... We even got to see the monkeys across the river. The cabins are comfortable, equipped with everything you need. The staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. We felt like at home and we enjoyed the tours we booked through the hotel. Everything was very easy, great service. The resort is not close to the town (you’ll need to use the free shuttle provided by the hotel 4 times a day to get there or to get a taxi) but for us that was a bonus, as we were looking for a quiet retreat in the middle of nature. We actually didn’t have to go to town all that much, since we had most of our meals in the resort restaurant (the food was delicious). Overall, it was an incredible experience and we definitely recommend to visit Khao Sok and to stay at Riverside Cottages

We loved everything

Staying at riverside cottages was a really cool experience. The accommodation is right in the jungle so it’s good to keep in mind that you will be surrounded by wildlife and insects. This was something I was nervous about but when you just accept that it’s the jungle you really get the most out of it. The room was super comfortable, had everything we needed. The bed was comfy, mosquitoes nets were good quality, bathroom was perfect. The balcony’s are really cool because if you’re sitting on them you are in the jungle and can hear all the jungle noises. Yes there were geckos and insects in our room but it’s expected and you are protected by the net when you’re sleeping. There was no AC but we found it fine, we were here in May when there was a bit of rain so this might have helped but it was manageable. The restaurant is lovely on site, does everything you need. We went to the local town for dinner one night and there are lots of options available. You can get to the town by the free shuttle bus that runs every three hours or can ask for alternative times for a small charge. We did a night time canoe tour and the overnight lake stay through the hotel and they were brilliant. The overnight lake tour was more than we could have ever expected - this is a must do if you’re visiting. Recommend booking through the hotel to ensure you get a good experience. If you’re looking for a jungle experience this is definitely a great option!

Amazing location in nature. Its a little way for town but there's a free shuttle multiple times a day for whatever you need to get. Rooms don't have Aircon but the fans were more than enough and since the room is well ventilated the sound of rain and the river flowing filled the room and made it so relaxing. Its convenient having a restaurant there. The staff were able to organise all excursions and transfers which was great. I made a friend on my travels and they changed our bookings so we could stay together.

Because the room was open it meant everything was quite damp as it was so rainy. My friend slipped in the bathroom as the tiles were very slippery and it is hard to contain the shower water. It was great having the restaurant there but some of the dishes were very bland and the curries were very runny

Absolutely stunning location in the jungle but the real gem here are the staff- everything is so well organised and planned. We’ve stayed here two years in a row as we loved our first time here so much. We stayed an extra night via booking.com after booking the 4day 3night jungle grand tour package with the property directly. It includes lots of activities including half day hike in the national park, night safari walk in the jungle with a guide and an overnight trip to the lake. Book it! You won’t be disappointed!

Nothing! It is an amazing place!!

Everything. It was a real jungle experience since you're in the middle of it and we had a huge huge bungalow with hammocks to enjoy the nature sounds. The staff was outstanding and the food was really good. The bed was the most comfortable bed that we had in our month stay in Thailand. There are enough activities to book at the reception and there is a free shuttle from the town a couple of times a day. We regret only booking a couple of days because this was our favourite stay in Thailand. We would definitely come back since it was just awesome.

Don't go here if you don't like the glamping experience. There are tiny animals that can enter your room since you're in the middle of the jungle. We absolutely loved it :)

Perfect stopover for one night. The kids enjoyed going on inflatable tubes in the river, the bungalows themselves are very cute and give a nice feel of staying in a jungle. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was a bit mediocre by Thai standards but again, not a problem for a one night stopper. We also booked a 2 day/1 night stay with them which was lovely. The trips included in the package seemed a bit aimed at tourists a bit too much and we didn’t feel the authenticity but still enjoyed it. Staying on the lake and kayaking around was the highlight for the kids.

Great place to listen and observe nature as you are surrounded by jungle. They offer many trips and great food in the restaurant. We especially appreciated that they make an effort to reduce plastic waste here which is a HUGE problem in Thailand. Friendly staff and Khlong is very knowledgeable. Best tour was the night safari with Lek who is an amazing guide!!

Restaurant was definitely on the expensive side but food is great. If you are worried about bugs in your room, this is not a place for you as rooms are kind of open to nature!

Beautiful and authentic property. They really have thought about everything we need during our stay. They have a shuttle that takes you into the little village 10 minutes away 4x per day for free, they have a myriad of activities available (including river tubing canoeing, night safari, cooking classes, hikes etc). they have a restaurant open from around 7.30 until around 10pm with lots of options available. They have lots of books and board games available if you’d like. I have seen a few comments about animals and insects, but you’re deep in the jungle and it is serene and beautiful, its nature in its entirety so what do you expect. I recommend wearing lots of sun protection and some mosquito protection. I cannot recommend this accommodation enough. One thing to note is that it is in the jungle next to the Khao Sok national park, so as you can imagine it’s not easy to get to - it does take appx 1.5 hours to get there from surat Thani airport (and I believe about 2 hours from Phuket?) but they offer a coach to bring and take you. Truly spectacular scenery!

We didn’t spend enough time there!

The location is exceptional, right on the river. The bungalows are large and spacious. All beds have a mosquito net. Due to the open and airy design of the bungalows, there is no air conditioning but several fans which are perfectly adequate. The water in the room and in the restaurant is free of charge. Water bottles can also be refilled free of charge for activities. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the town (ATM) at set times. Outside of these times this service costs a few Baht. The staff is very friendly, attentive, helpful and courteous. There are different breakfast options, all suitable for Europeans. The choice for dinner is extensive. Everything we tried tasted excellent. Our favorite was the cucumber salad. The activities on offer, if we did them, were well worth the price. The river tubing was great fun. Unfortunately, we only did it on our last day, otherwise we would have done it at least a second time.

There is really nothing to criticize, except perhaps that the floor is a bit slippery after showering. But that's complaining at the highest level.
