Wonderful hotel in a historical building which is why smoking and alcohol are not allowed. This made for a very nice family-friendly environment. Also, the room is beautifully decorated. All the staff members were friendly, respectful, and professional, especially Mr. Sercan. The location can't be beaten: it's super close to the tram and the metro station, and very close to Eminönü ferry station. Would definitely book again if I come to İstanbul in the future.

The room is very clean and the housekeeping employee is very nice and kept the room in immaculate condition, but most of the towels and sheets had stains in them, although they smelt clean and fresh. If not for this I would've easily given the hotel a 10 star rating. The room's view was to a burnt building which wasn't great, but the hotel didn't promise a good view, and we didn't go to İstanbul to sit in the hotel room. The bathroom only had two hooks and nowhere else to hang anything other than the closet in the room. The hotel's entrance is in a small, lively alley (Muhzirbaşı sk). This makes maneuvering heavy luggage in and out a bit hard, so ask your driver to drop/pick you off/up from Muhzirbaşı sk on Büyük Postane cd's side not Ankara cd's.

The room was spatious and clean, but with view to an old building. It was clean and we always received water from the hotel. The location was good, near to everything - nothing to complain.

The breakfast was a little bit limited - we found out in our last days there that we could also order omlette. There was noises at night coming from the pipes or fan, although our aircon was switched off. These noises woke us up. Also, in one night at 3 am we received by mistake a call from the reception, I guess, which also woke us up - we did not mentioned to them this issue, but maybe they should be more careful with this.

This was our third consecutive year staying here, and each visit only deepens our love and appreciation for this gem of a hotel. We booked the Junior Suite, which was not only beautifully presented but also immaculately cleaned and incredibly comfortable. From the moment we checked in, the service exceeded all expectations. Every member of staff – from the reception to the management and housekeeping – made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. A standout element of our stay was the delightful breakfast spread. The variety was fantastic, but the highlight had to be the chocolate cake – it was truly lush and a hit with the whole family. The location is unbeatable: just a stone’s throw from Istanbul’s major landmarks and with easy access to the tram and train station, making exploring the city seamless and stress-free. The most memorable part of our trip was the birthday celebration arranged for our 5-year-old. The staff went above and beyond to make it special, just as they have every year. Special thanks to Sarcan and Mehmet, whom our child affectionately calls "brothers." Their warmth, kindness, and personal touches are what truly elevate this hotel experience. There were absolutely no drawbacks to our stay. In fact, we can confidently say this hotel sets the gold standard. Though it has a boutique and modern design, what truly makes it exceptional is the people behind it. We absolutely recommend the Mercure Istanbul Sirkeci Hotel – a solid 5 stars from us. For our family, this hotel has become more than a place to stay; it’s our home in Istanbul, and we will always return.

The location was great and surrounded by restaurants. The major tourist landmarks were walkable (though you might want to take a cab if you’re opposed to uphill walks)

My family and I were here during the summer and it was easily 90 degrees every day so we would often split our days up with small naps or relaxing time midday. On multiple occasions, housekeeping would take my second room key from the room, effectively turning off the air conditioner. Some days it took almost an hour for the room to cool down. My tv was also broken but this was a smaller issue for me.

Everything is great about the property, the staff are very generous, smile and know what the meaning of customer service is. The location is 10/10. If you are looking to visit Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Sulaymaniyah Mosque I would recommend staying here, they are maximum 15 minimum walk away. It’s a very touristy area, so expect it to be busy, however from your room you’d never know, it’s very well sound proofed. There are an ample of food places. It can range from expensive to relatively cheap. The hotel has a restaurant and sheesha lounge as well. There is a Hafiz Mustafa literally round the corner. Many sheesha places (if you are into that). I would definitely be coming back.

I’d recommend slightly better breakfast selection. Very small selection of hot items. I was told my room was upgraded, but I doubt I was, the room was still the standard room (only writing this, as I never asked for an upgrade, I was told it was an upgrade, it it was not, I don’t appreciate the dishonesty)

We had an amazing time at Mercure Instanbul Sirkeci! Hotel is very clean, neatly decorated and has all necessary amenities in the rooms, variety of breakfast is really wide and also changes every day, so you wont get bored easily. Also it is very well located, you can easily reach all hotspots of Istambul. Least but not the last and probably the BEST part of hotel is its staff. Exceptionally helpful, kind and caring. Without any request and super secretly they organised a happy birthday cake and song for my dad before our departure. We were absolutely impressed!

Location was ideal and the connectivity was amazing.... just 5min walk from Sirkeci Tram station and Metro. Many nice restaurants, cafes, bars and street food joints are so nearby. The area buzzes with activity till 1am. All major historical attractions (TopKapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar etc) are 15-20 walk away if someone doesnt want to use Tram. Hotel staff was smiling & welcoming. Special words of praise for Emrah, Maya and Aydin at Reception desk who were always friendly & helpful . Our review wd be incomplete without mentioning Sercan who guided us to the right places (restaurants, cruises, sight seeing etc). Wifi was good. Currency Exchange shops were just 2min away.

Suggestions for improvement : 1) There were hardly any English language channel on room TV. The TV network offered 98 channels out of which, only 04 were in English. No entertainment or Hollywood movie channel was in English. One didn't feel like to switch on the TV at all. I sincerely hope that Hotel management will give much needed attention to this serious shortcoming. 2) Breakfast is okay but some more variety will make it even better.

Clean rooms with a functional layout. Friendly, helpful staff. Many restaurants nearby and the main attractions are walking distance. Breakfast is plentiful. Down a side street so quiet. Metro and ferries nearby.

The breakfast coffee was very ordinary for a Mercure. Watery flavour at times. One morning there was no coffee. If I was Italian I would grab my Moka pot and invade the kitchen !

We did not have breakfast in the hotel, as it is till 10.30 only and we woke up later, so we did not pay for it. The hotel is beautifully designed, in Turkish style, everything was very clean, the personnel was very friendly. The cleaning was perfect. We had superior twin rooms. The rooms are big enough, especially for the centre of Istanbul. There is a rather big wardrobe in the room, a safe, small fridge, electric kettle and tea, coffee and sugar as well as drinking water are provided by the hotel. The curtains are great, they block the light as they are double, with thick textile. It is possible to open the windows which is great if you want some fresh air. I liked the beds and the pillows, but my son thinks the beds were too soft))) The bathroom is rather small, but very comfy if used by one person, everything is designed well and really comfortable, the shower cabin is big enough. There are USB sockets near both beds, but only one electric socket in the room, which is near the door, far from the beds, so it was not so comfortable to charge the computers. The location is absolutely perfect - in the historical center, close to Ayia Sofia, to the bridge, to the trams and the ships station, to the market, Basilica, the Park, etc. The shops and restaurants are everywhere, but the hotel is very still as the street where it is located is pedestrian only - you have to walk appr. 50-100 m to the road, but the staff and taxi drivers help with the luggage, so it is no problem with that. This hotel is the place I would like to go back to. It is not cheap at all, but i think it is normal taking into consideration its location.

The air-conditioning did not work properly - I think the cooling function was reduced as we visited Istanbul in April, but I like to sleep in cold, so it was not so comfortable - I had to open the windows, open the curtains to get fresh air, so I had to use sleeping glasses to keep it dark. Actually, it is a policy of many hotels to switch off cooling for the period they consider cool enough, but I still that it is not fair enough - the hotel declares that it provides rooms WITH air-conditioning, so I feel I have the right to decide when I want to cool the room. That was the only reason I did not give the hotel the excellent rating.

I had an amazing stay at the Mercure İstanbul Sirkeci Hotel. The location is absolutely fantastic, being very close to the Mahmood Pasha market, the beach, metro and bus stations, and plenty of taxi options. It's also surrounded by many shops and restaurants, making it incredibly convenient for both shopping and dining. The reception staff, Mr. Aydin and Mr. Adam, were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. They made sure all our needs were met and provided excellent service throughout our stay. I highly recommend this hotel for its prime location and outstanding staff.
