Every aspect, from A-Z, every single thing you could possibly come across was thought of beforehand and taken care of. To me it is important the hotel I'm staying breathes history: Matild palace integrates historical charm and modernity. The service surpassed that of any luxury hotel we have experienced, including those in Amsterdam and Paris. For instance. During check-out, I mentioned my disappointment that my sister could not visit the rooftop bar, 'The Duchess,' as she had retired early our last evening there - and before I could even finish my sentence, György offered us a private tour. If you plan on staying here do not forget to carve out some time for the spa, which is immaculate. The property and our room were lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable. It’s a very good location, close to tram, metro, and the river.

With the exception of one young tall gentleman, the front desk staff all seemed pretty sour. In addition, the 2 concierges I dealt with were not especially helpful. As an example, while the gentleman did show me the app for public transportation, when I asked further questions he told me to read it on the app. This occurred while there were no other people waiting for assistance so time was not a factor.

Very beautiful, spacious and modern room. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the built-in speakers in the room. The hotel is very well located - in the middle of central Budapest. Visiting the rooftop bar is a must (especially during the summer months).

Unfortunately, we were not satisfied with the breakfast, which did not live up to our expectations. Tried several dishes from the a la carte menu but thought nothing was particularly good. Also took forever to get seated. Ordered prosecco for the room and despite a reminder, this was forgotten and I had to call and ask where it was. We got it delivered 45 min late.. When we checked in, the receptionist forgot to inform us that the hotel reserves an extra €100 per day from your card. At first we thought something went wrong with the payment. This is fine, but you should definitely inform the guest about it!

The breakfast provided was truly exceptional, boasting a delightful array of delicious options. While those who arrived first were able to enjoy orange juice served in chilled glasses, the experience was nonetheless pleasant even when served in warmer glassware. The ambiance and scent of the hotel were both invaluable, offering a serene and historically rich environment for guests to enjoy during their stay.

During my stay at the hotel, I discovered that the rooftop bar was temporarily closed for renovation or another reason. However, I acknowledge that I missed the opportunity to visit it on previous days, which was entirely my oversight.

a young server with dark hair ignored us at breakfast and acted pissed whenever we were making eye contact all the switches for the lights are next to the bed

The decor and the position was e collect very comfortable. The staff at breakfast could have been faster the service was a bit slow there . The driver who was supposed to pick me up couldn’t find me , had my mobile number and couldn’t phone me either , bad service for 140 euro fee.

No swimming pool

Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food. It was our 42nd Wedding Anniversary celebration and the attentive staff made our experience extra special.

Everything was perfect- the room was well equipped, we came with a baby and it was comfortable with it as well. The breakfast was very good and had a big variety of options

Location was great, the room was amazingly well equipped, quiet and the mattress was exceptionally comfortable. The whole staff did their best to satisfy our needs and they went beyond and above to make sure our stay perfect. I recommend this hotel 100%. Also, the bathroom is one the most beautiful bathroom I have ever seen :)

Really great hotel in a stunning building. Perfect match of the old architecture with new, modern classy interior. Special attention is also paid to the small details. I absolutely loved the bathroom. The location of the hotel is perfect to explore the city. All staff very friendly and helpful (page, reception, housekeeping, service) Would definitely recommend for a stay in Budapest.

The breakfast (selection) didn´t fully match the otherwise really high standard of the hotel. (All egg meals, also fried eggs should be served always, not from the buffet. Butter was missing for like 10 minutes,...) But to be honest this is whining at a high level.
