Excellent location,strategically located in heart of Pest with metro and bus station a stonethrow away and goid food places nearby. It's a welcome site to enter this massive once Royal residence. I stayed in 4 bed dorm,amazing cleanliness,comfortable beds and a massive sofa lounge and kitchen. Staff very helpful,I noticed the washroom had no soap around 10pm,BALAGZ (maybe the spelling isn't right) who was at the desk,immediately came up amd sorted the issue Being a doctor, I am a freak about cleanliness and I was very much impressed by the spotless room. If it's budapest..its Maverick Ensuites.

I had complained about No soap being in the common washroom at 3pm to Khaled but he didn't bother to sort it out,however Balagz at the night reception went all out to sort it. Rest all twelstaff were good.

It was the first time I stayed in a hostel. And I had a good experience. It was very comfortable, clean and has a great location. Staff are helpful. The hair dryer in my room did not work well and I asked the staff, they give me a new one. so kind.

There wasn’t a lock on the luggage storage, and I didn’t have one either. I asked the staff, and they sold me one. Lockers really should come with locks—I didn’t expect them to be missing. Anyway, I bought one, and at least it’s good that they have extras on hand.

The coziest accommodation

It is a perfect place, do not skip if avaliable. From location to value for money, from safety to in-hostel facilities and the fast crisis management capabilities. Staff were always so helpful and full of suggestions. This place also has wine nights to meet other travelers. I especially loved the French windows that gave full view of ferenciek tere and two 5-star hotels, the best square in budapest.

Light in the female dorm isn't enough, especially if you are getting ready for dinner.

The location was perfect, and the staff members were very friendly and helpful. I really loved the activities that they organized as well, which gave me enough opportunity to get to know other guests. Overall, this hostel was definitely well worth its price :)

Nothing, everything was good.

I stayed 5 nights in this hostel. And it was the best decision. The hostel is situated in the very city centre. In addition, there are metro station and bus stop 1 min away. In thus building there are Lidl , Starbucks and other cafes. The personal are very nice, polite and friendly. You can leave your luggage for free if you have a late flight (after check out). The beds are very comfortable. And each guest is provided by a towel. It was very warm inside the rooms (I stayed in December). The kitchen is equipped with everything - stove, kettle, refrigerator, microwave, tea and coffee. Tye only thing - you should bring a small locker with you to keep your things in the box OR you can buy it from the reception (price was 5€). I highly recommend Maverick ensuites!

Sometimes you have to wait ~15-20 mins for the bathroom to be free when there are many people.

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful with amazing recommendations! I loved that the dorm room was quite big with spacious lockers. The bed was comfy, and the shelf allowed one to store lots of things. The location was perfect (easy access to the metro which takes one to the long distance bus station and the railway station) and allowed one to explore Budapest. I also felt very safe in the area.

The bathroom sounds were super loud. When someone used the toilet, you would often hear the water run for several minutes (and it would wake you up at night). There were also no hooks for towels anywhere in the room and only two (for six people) in the bathroom. It would also have been nice to have privacy curtains for the dorm beds, especially because the small night lamps were very bright.

We are very satisfied about our stay in the hostel. We knew that it will be nice expierience but it was better then we expected. We decided to stay in this hostel because there is a possibility to leave the luggage before check in and after check out and we were arriving and leaving Budapest with night buses. When we arrived in the morning, appart from leaving luggage we were invited to make ourselves tea/coffe, use the kitchen, what was perfect after 13 hours in the night bus. All the people who we met at the reception were very nice. The person who was making check in for us, showed us on a map all the important places to see in Budapest. The room, bathrooms and kitchens were very clean. Its amayzing that they manage to keep it so clean when all the time the hostel is nearly full and so many people are not cleaning after themselves. We stayed in a room for 8 people and the room was very big (after reading the opinions I was prepared for sth very small but it was opposite). Kitchens are well equipped and there is tea (different kinds), coffe, sugar and cream which you can use. We didnt have any problems with queues to the bathroom even the hostel was full (which I was expecting after reading previous opinions) - every time when I wanted to use the bathroom one of them was free. Additionally: the localisation of the hostel is just perfect and the building is so, so beautiful. Everywhere is close, metro station is few meters away and there is Lidl exactly in the same building. If we come back to Budapest again we would definitelly look for places in this hostel again.

Its hard for me to find sth to write here as nearly everything was perfect. Only some small details like there were no small cutting knives in the kitchen (peeling a lemon with 30cm knive was hard) - but looking at it as a whole kitchens were equiped much better then in an average hostel. The shelf near my bed (upper bed) was broken and I couldnt use it and I didnt have place to put my phone for a night, as others in the room were doing, but I guess someone broke it a day or two before and it was hard to fix it fast. In the morning it was little cold for me, but I just put some warmer clothes and it was ok. It must be hard to heat this old building as the rooms are over 4 meters high and the windows are antique.

The hostal is in a fantastic location. It's my second visit to Budapest, and this was a wonderful surprise. The kitchen is spacey, the common area where I could work is comfy enough. The rooms were cozy, and the people staying here were super nice/respectful. The bus from the bus station/train station drops you off right in front of the hostal, which is appreciated!

I stayed in room 103, and the noise whenever you flushed the system was extra extra loud (they have a different flushing system), and this one sounded as if it was about to break down, all the people staying in the room mentioned it. I also stayed in room number 104, and it wasn't as long and loud as the other one. So, just a heads-up. Also the shower was clugged in one room, and the sink was clugged in the other room. Leaving those two things on a side, my stay was very pleasant.

I ended up at Maverick Downtown quite by chance – and I'm genuinely grateful I did. My main goal was to rest, and this place offered a peaceful and well-organized stop in the heart of Budapest. For future guests, a friendly tip: be sure to read/ask for the house rules in advance. They’re clear, but attention to details will make your stay smoother. Lockers are available, and you can purchase a lock at the reception if needed. The staff were especially attentive and supportive – available 24/7 and always ready to help, even with the smallest questions. I was impressed by their professionalism, their ease in communicating with international guests, and their warm, welcoming attitude. Thank you for the kind atmosphere and for making my short stay so comfortable!
