Good hostel. Actually a hostel, like a hostel. What does a person need when using a hostel? Bed to sleep and take a shower. In fact, the hotel is clean, the sheets are also, the bed is comfortable for me. The hostel also has a very good entertainment and relaxation area with a bar for drinks and food, pool tables, darts, an outdoor terrace, even a volleyball court and plenty of seating for visitors, with consumption from the bar optional. Also the hostel is in a very good location in the very center of Copenhagen, but be aware that it is 2 km from the train station and maybe 3.5 from the Flixbus station for example. But for those who arrive from Copenhagen airport or have a flight coming from there, the location is also very good, 5 minutes from the hotel there is a metro station from which you arrive directly to the airport. In fact, as you can see, I can say mostly positive things. UNFORTUNATELY, AFTER WRITING ALL THIS, I ALSO HAVE TO SHARE MY DISAPPOINTMENT REGARDING THE HOSTEL'S LUGGAGE STORAGE POLICY. THE HOSTEL OFFERS LUGGAGE STORAGE, BUT FOR A PAYMENT. 80 KRON, WHICH IS ALMOST 11 EUROS IF YOU ARE WITH A LARGE LUFAR. IT IS EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE TO ME. I TAKE IT AS BLACKMAIL. I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE TRAVEL WITH LUGGAGE LIKE ME AND THEREFORE ARE FORCED TO PAY THIS FEE IF THEY HAVE A LATE FLIGHT ON THE DAY OF DEPARTURE. I TRAVEL ALL OVER THE WORLD. I'VE VISIT HUNDREDS OF HOTELS AND HOSTELS AND NEVER HAVE I BEEN ASKED FOR A LAGGAGE STORAGE FEE ATER CHECKING OUT. IF YOU LOOK AT THE GENERAL BOOKING INFORMATION FOR THE HOSTEL, YOU WILL ONLY READ THAT STORAGE IS OFFERED FOR LUGGAGE. WHEN YOU PAY THROUGH BOOKING YOU WILL RECEIVE A MESSAGE THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY A FEE FROM 5 TO 80 KRON DEPENDING ON THE SIZE, BUT YOU WILL RECEIVE THIS INFORMATION WHEN YOU ALREADY BOOK. EXTREMELY NOT CORRECT. SUCH GREED I CANNOT UNDERSTAND. I'M NOT WRITING TO COMPLAIN, BUT TO ADVISE OTHER VISITORS.

Great location, comfortable beds, good size storage for belongings, very good value for money

As I was in a mixed dorm, I wish there was a private area for changing clothes - changing in the bathroom is not the most comfortable experience, and in the shower the floor is often wet (plus neither have mirrors).

Location is definitely the best. We had a party at a nearby venue and the location was perfect. We like the room size is large and bathroom is large for 2 person. There is space for 2 small suitcase. And there were safe deposit box in the bottom drawer - we stayed in private rooms for 2. It was good for 2 nights stay.

It was warm in the rooms and while fans were provided, it is an old building without Air Con or somewhat climate temp adjustment. You can open the window but if you are street facing you will encounter noise from party goers :) Which is not something I don't like. Just for those booking to make a request facing away from street. e.g the courtyard was okay I suppose. Issue with heat - nothing to do- Denmark rarely is super hot but beware in the summer that this is an issue everyone have in Europe.

This was the third time I have stayed here, and always come back. Staff are always very helpful - I managed to buy a ticket for Jul at the Tivoli cheaper than at the gate. Location is easy to explore the touristy spots and more. Nice hot shower, and safe, secure dorm room. The lock box for my suitcase was large enough to fit in. Close to plenty of food and drink places, so going out for breakfast was easy. I wish I could have stayed longer but had go back to work.

The bed light was not so flexible, and not possible to adjust so that the light shined down to my side and not to the front of me when reading. Toilet didn't flush all the way most of the time, despite holding the flush button down for longer. Had to wait and flush about three times before the little amount of paper went down. I actually stayed here ( Natalie ) but Booking.com hasn't changed the profile despite me changing the account to under my name. I stayed in a female only doom with 6 beds.

The hostel is in a very good location, was clean, and everything worked well. At the time I made my reservation, this was by far the best offer in Copenhagen in terms of price-quality ratio, so I wasn't disappointed.

The online check-in system wasn't working, so I had to check in person. Based on the email, it seemed like online check-in was mandatory, which caused some stress as I wasn't sure if everything would work out properly due to my inability to complete the online check-in process.

The places to socialize are big, although it gets full during weekends. The rooms are very noise proof. Also helpfull staff. The breakfast is very good, buffet style (eat all what you want). Different types of bread (even the dark one full of seeds), scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, yoghurt, cereals, milk, coffee, etc. I would come back here if in Copenhagen again.

The beds could be better in terms of not shaking when either of the occupants move, but these are normal bunk beds, not like pods. I also don't like to store my stuff in drawers bellow the lower bed. I prefer vertical lockers. BTW: you will need to bring you big lock for this, or you can rent one at the reception. These are just details, all in all this hostel is an excellent choice.

I didn't get to experience the breakfast because I had a tight schedule my entire stay. But everything was exactly as I remembered from having stayed at a Generator 20 years ago :D The staff is absolutely wonderful, the service is fast and efficient. You're getting exactly what you pay for and I really enjoyed the experience 😁

I mean, if I could have chosen roommates that cleaned the toilet a bit after taking taking their hobbits to Isengard, I would have, but that's not something the hostel has any control over. That would probably be my only complaint 😁

This is our second stay in a Generator hotel and we are quite pleased with the value for money ratio. Our room was on the last floor, so it was quiet and away from the shared facilities. The location is perfect - very close to all main attractions in Copenhagen - we basically didn't use any transportation at all.

The elevator is extremely slow, very annoying. As we were staying on the sixth floor we were always using the stairs going down, but not always nice going up, especially fully dressed in your winter clothes. Not sure why, but both my husband and I had back problems from the bed, although the mattress seemed quite solid.

Bunk beds are very comfortable, but don't have curtains or isolation walls. Common area is huge, with a. well equipped bar and live bands every now and then. Nice long area outside. They also organise pub quizzes. Frequented by back packers and large organised groups from I'm guessing high schools or universities from other countries.

When I checked in I was given a bed in the bunk room but when I went to the room, someone else was already sleeping there (the person took my bed thinking it was empty even though he had been assigned another bunk bed). Staff should tell all guests upon checking in that they must stay in the bunkbed assigned to them. Also, the bunkbeds don't have any sort of curtains or isolation walls so there is no privacy and it can get noisy with alarms and snoring and the odd light being switched on.

I am lucky, that I decided to stay at Generator Copenhagen. I had an amazing experience. Great location, near to the most beautiful attractions. Easy to travel everywhere with the city transport. The staff are very friendly. You can use 15% discount for all food and drinks you order from the bar, during your stay. The rooms are clean, and there has lovely laddies who looks after your room to be clean. You can meet very nice people, and enjoy in the bar with nice music. Highly recommend this place and the city for people who appreciate the good.

I don’t like that they don’t explain easy the instructions if you want to check in when you use the device next to the reception. The difficult part of this instructions are in the last steps, when you have to take card and hold in the machine to receive your number of room and bed. I touch few times the machine without to understand that I have to hold a few seconds the card on it. I did it, but takes me time. Most of the people they give up when starts to use this device for check in.
