Staff were very helpful, the hotel was clean and they had attention to little details in the room (safe, amenities, complimentary fresh fruit, comfortable bedding) The hotel looks great, it is a renewed historical building from the era of king Farouk of Egypt, they kept all the old characteristics of the building, it is in a quiet area and perfect for walking around. Great breakfast. Excellent value for money Highly recommended especially in winter.

The hotel outsourced the health club to a private company that charges extra for the use of the Sauna or Hot tub, and these charges are exaggerated and are per hour, they call it a spa but it has no pools, only a hot tub, a sauna and a steam room. These health club/spa facilities just sit there empty the whole day as no one will pay $20/$30 per person per hour, there is no value. The hotel needs to have packages that include the use of the sauna and hot tub as part of the package.

The historic location near Montazah Palace, an oasis away from hustle and bustle from the rest of the city. The air is fresh and there is no pollution. The park is so beautifully maintained and it feels like Disneyland but with a lot more history. I think the Montazah area is a must visit spot when in Alexandria because it is different from the rest of the city. And the sea breeze can be felt more than in other places.

There is no insect grill so you can not leave the window open at night (but because it is a historical property it was probably not easy to add to existing windows). Be careful when booking because foreign and local rates differ so although your booking will go through once you arrive you will be asked to pay the difference.

I liked the hotel overall, however two main points that forced me to leave and didn't extend my stay, the bed is very small in size and the mattress is extremely tough. Other than this the hotel is perfect for quiet stay. The breakfast is a bit expensive compared to outside tier one restaurants available outside the hotel and offer a high-quality food and a fantastic view.

Mattress is tough, bed is very small for two adults, TV has only 18 channels most of which are not working or having a bad signal.

The place, rooms, and location are just fantastic and stunning, although it's not a beach front yet so cosy and lovely The rooms are small but you will never feel it as the ceiling is too high and the old windows overlook the garden with plenty of lights inside, the hotel is fully renovated and spotless clean with a great smell

The stuff is too cold, not welcoming the guests the way it should be in such a 5-star hotel I stayed for 1 night for visiting some family members during the week end and there was a wedding in the place with loads of noise and when I asked them at what time the wedding should end they advised that place policy is at 12 am hence the wedding ended 3 am in the morning with a complete sleepless night The hotel rate is extremely expensive for a non beach accessed hotel hence I understand that I am sleeping over in a Palace yet the 100 EGP for car parking was extremely ridiculous after paying nearly 6000 EGP for 1 night in a single room!!! It's not about the 100 EGP ITS ABOUT THE CONCEPT.....

I liked the concept of an adults-only hotel, especially since it is historic and located close to Montazah Palace. The staff is young, smiling, charming, and very polite. They upgraded our room because it was our 33rd anniversary and also offered us a complimentary tart. The suite was really wonderful, making our stay even more special.

What I did not like are not major concerns, but having worked in tourism for 42 years, I appreciate authenticity and harmony with such a historic palace. The furniture should reflect the style of the king’s era and be made of authentic pieces to match the hotel’s historic charm.

The buildings and their historical relevance are quite well preserved. Some small details like furniture positioning etc need some attention to improve the experience. Outside the hotel, we were surprised to find that the Montazah Gardens and palaces are very well maintained architecturally and from the facility management perspective, which is a challenge in our country. So, well done.

Trivial complaint but worth mentioning as constructive criticism so Helnan can improve. The water temperature in the shower is constantly fluctuating between very hot and cold. Upon check in, we asked for the maintenance staff to unclog the sink and fix the toilet flushing mechanism. They only fixed the latter but left a mess behind.

Air condition system should includes heating option , TV size must be bigger & includes more channels.

Excellent quiet location inside Montaza Gardens.Historic building ( Haramlek palace) turned into a small clean well run hotel (adults only)with very friendly staff. Hotel offers shuttle bus to nearby Palastine Helnan Royal hotel ( beach access, restaurants, …..). The shuttle can also take you to the Montaza gate where you can take bus or Uber or taxi to many beautiful locations in Alexandria. We originally planned to stay for two days but ended up staying more than three weeks.

Frequent wedding/ photo shoots could disturb the otherwise peaceful setting.Food is mostly not prepared in the onsite restaurant but is shuttled from Palastine hotel so there may be a delay in getting your order.

I liked the antique style of the place. Unique location not necessarily practical & Beautiful gardens.

The shower stand cleanliness, was way below the standard ( all around the frame there is dark soap scum). Stressing on cleaning the room carpet would even give more comfort and trust to the overall cleaning level of the room. So housekeeping in general could be improved, even on the main hotel staircase, the same dirt was there upon arrival and departure next day. The matter is I have an eye for these things, all over hotels were I stay often.

1- Faced issue when entering the main gate, because at check in, they forgot to give me a special entrance card. 2- Setting at pool side after 7 pm is horrible due to Miskito, LOTS OF THEM, and they are. It doing anything about it. 3- Breakfast was less than good, it much if variety
