Beautiful well maintained building, restaurant area about 300yrs old. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfy beds and well appointed bathroom. Fabulous food in the restaurant with great service for both dinner and breakfast. Served proper loose leaf tea, in a teapot and a porcelain cup and saucer, excellent coffee too. Shops and bars within a short walk. Great overnight stop on route to ferry.

Nothing. But you can hear the trains when windows open and there's currently single file traffic (light controlled) and road works nearby

The restaurant Petit Komite is amazing! The food is chef-style, the wine selection is quite ample, however, we went for cider/cidra which was lovely. You need to try the local cheesecake is fantastic. Atmosphere is very good, we sat outside as the weather was very nice for October. Our was big and spacious, comfy beds, and internet/wifi worked like a charm. I will defo visit again in Autumn/Winter. Good sized, charming room with modern bathroom. - Good location with a train station across the street. It costs 2€ per person to get into town. The train ride is around 15 minutes and trains go regularly, also during the week and in the evening. - Parking is right outside. There are plenty of parking spots. - The couple running the place is lovely. - The breakfast was great. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy. - There is a supermarket down the street.

Room cool and comfortable with a very adequate en-suite, excellent shower. Excellent breakfast. The staff were friendly and approachable with excellent English. If we had had time to go into Bilbao, the train was only a short walk from the hotel.

It would have been good to know the restaurant was not serving dinner. The options for eating in the town on a Sunday night were very limited.

The whole building is authentic and characterful. Such a change from the modern hotels. The location was ideal for us because we didn't want to drive into Bilbao. It is right by the motorway but the train station was just 50 yards away! Parking in any Spanish city is a nightmare and expensive. The food was excellent and the staff were wonderfully friendly and attentive.

It was wonderful to be served a yummy breakfast. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Beautiful old chalet, family run hotel. Train station just across road so getting into Bilbao was an easy option. Walk to local shop and restaurants within 10 mins. Bedroom got a bit hot during the night but air conditioning being installed.

Nothing to dislike. If you like quirky old (but well maintained and clean places) this is for you.

When I think of our stay in this hotel, I think 'character'. It is built similar to a Swiss chalet and the interior is finished in beautiful timber frames and painted walls which in turn, are covered with interesting photographs and memorabilia. There isn't a lift, and we accessed our comfortable, clean room on the top floor via a wide wooden staircase. We were served a delicious, traditional Basque breakfast in fine china, and in the evening we enjoyed excellent cocktails in the cosy lounge. We drove to the hotel, parked the car there and to visit Bilbao itself, we walked a short distance to the train station and were in the city centre within 20 minutes. A very efficient & economical service which made our visit so easy.

Room was rather hot with no air conditioning. Restaurant and prices were quite "special occasion" so perhaps not ideal for longer stays. Fantastic food, wine & service though.

This was our favourite stay in Spain! We loved the atmosphere of the room and the surrounding grounds around the hotel. Staff are very nice. The bed was super comfortable and everything was immaculately clean and decorated with great taste. Dinner at the restaurant was great too. A short trip to the centre by train, station is 2 minutes walk away.

Very old historical building with lots of charm. The owner is grandson of famous basque football player of pre civil war time . Great service . Excellent dinners and proximity to the train station with 15 min ride to Bilbao.

Be aware that rooms do not have air con . Opening the window does not work very good because of the street noise and insects . Had some issues with sleep .
