- great location, in a central street close to the cathedral and all other sights, next door from the supermarket, plenty of bars, public transport, the central market etc. - extremely well equipped, cozy and clean rooms

- a bit on the expensive side - soundproofing could be improved significantly: the doors are very loud as is, and we had neighbours who could be heard moving throughout the night; at times, the bed frame and doors to our room and bathroom would shake as a result - to be honest, the number of messages and reminders (on WhatsApp) from the hotel is a bit invasive, complicates the check-in and accommodation procedure and, overall, in my opinion, is not as necessary; on the other hand, when I contacted the hotel about the excessive noise after our stay, I received no reply

Location is super. We had room 101 street side. Cosy/noisy during the day and the evening but very quite during the night. Everything was super clean. Public transport en mercado Ribera nearby. Visit of Guernica, not far from Bilbao, is a must! We could wait in the kitchen with our luggage, our flight was in the late afternoon. There was also a possibility to drop off the luggage in the office in a street nearby. The nice kitchen was extra during this stay.

Special elevator.

There are a lot of things that i like about the property. To begin with the cleaning. Everyday the cleaning lady would come after we would live the apartment. They changed the towels everytime. The location was super. You would find all the attractions nearby, in 3 min by walking. (Metro, lots of restaurants and local attractions) Everything was functual, heat, cold and warm water. The bathroom was spacious. When i booked this apartment, i booked it for the price and for good reviews in general. I can say that the owner or who manages those rooms, make a difference for how they treat/respect the foreigners, for all the positive points of view i mentioned.

There was no pair of sleepers. (Although i did not ask if would be possible to have) The room did not have a window.

Common area could be cleaner, bcs not all people are apprently not able to clean up after themselves I was missing paper towels in the kitchen

I had my phone stolen in San Sebastian before I reached Bilbao. I therefore never received any e-mails or texts advising me how to book in. I found the accommodation but could not access it as I hadn't received the info I needed to access it. A young Spanish man who lived in the same block as the Casual Blue phoned them for me and directed me to where I needed to be to gain access. This was in another street and up four flights of stairs! After that everything was fine. If I hadn't had help I'd have been on the street or had to find alternative accommodation. Casual Blue is in the old town and it was fantastic.

Hadn't realised it wasn't a hotel with a reception and having no phone (it had been stolen out of my pocket in San Sebastian) I had no information on how to access the accommodation.

Unbeatable location in the heart of old town. The room was very comfortable though basic. The keypad access made me feel very secure. My room faced an internal courtyard so didn’t get sunlight, but it was incredibly quiet, even during Aste Nagusia festivities and my sleep was undisturbed.

The WiFi did not reach my room, which was somewhat annoying. I had signal in the common area but my room was one of the furthest from the common area and there was no signal in my room.

Far exceeded expectation for location: in historic quarter of Bilbao, the entrance lobby has to be seen to be believed! Automated check-in worked no problem. Upstairs, plenty of spacious shared facilities area, and a good sized room for two (with beds for four), with its own balcony over the pedestrian street. All fittings new and really clean, beds comfortable, plumbing works well. Location right in the middle of all the amenities - restaurants, cafes, bars, shops etc, with a mini-market right next door. Quiet at night, and superior bakeries nearby for excellent breakfast.

Hard to find fault, particularly at the price. Parking was a bit of a walk. Not Casual Blue's fault, but in the morning the police had closed the main road by the river and Bilbao's traffic had seized up.

Excellent location in the middle of Bilbao old town - could not have been better! The hotel was very clean. It does not have a reception and the hotel requires you to complete a self check in (and submit your passport details) prior to checking in. There is a hotel around the corner that the hotel is linked to that has a 24hr reception and luggage storage. The room itself was clean and comfortable. There is a kitchenette with a fridge (but there is no stove so you can’t cook).

Great experience with Casual. A sister hotel nearby kept our luggage until we could check in which was great as we arrived in Bilbao very early by ferry. We had booked a room with a courtyard view as I thought this would be quieter. However, we were upgraded to a larger room with a small balcony on the street which was great and the street noise wasn't a problem - slept like babies.

The inside door to the hotel was a bit stiff! Otherwise all good.

The room was spacious, the lightning was great depending if you wanted more or less light in the room. Beds were very, very comfortable! We even had a table and chair from which we could use our laptop. It was very quiet all throughout, which was surprising. We stayed during the carnival when the streets were full and loud, but our room didn't register any of that. The shower was very spacious, and the common room had utensils and a fridge for us to store our food.

Lack of heating. It was rather cold and the radiator didn't work at all. Also, the showers would run out of hot water quickly. We had some very noisy neighbours and someone even stole our food from the fridge!
