Small Boutique style hotel, nice modern, spacious and clean room overlooking the river next to the old town and a 10 minute walk to the centre. Great foe exploring Bilbao. There is a tram stop 1 minute walk away which takes you around the city. Staff were very nice and helpful. Nice bar/restaurant on the ground floor and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay there again.

We travel around Europe a lot and found it maybe little bit expensive but compared to what you can get in Bilbao if you are looking at higher end hotels it ticks all the boxes.

We just got back from a long weekend in Bilbao and wanted to take the time for a review. If you are doubting where to stay in Bilbao, you should definitely choose Tayko. First and most importantly: the front desk staff is absolutely amazing. Super helpful, amazing tips to explore Bilbao, where to get the best pintxos and how to get to the beach. I forgot her name (apologies if you are reading this, I'm awful with names...), but she really made our trip as we came to Bilbao unprepared. She deserves a raise! :-) The hotel itself is very well located at the edge of the old town. It's next to a busy road and a tram stop, but you cant hear any noise of the street in the room and we had a room overlooking the street and river even. The room was very clean, perfect bed, lots of space. It's easy to get around town from the hotel as there's a tram stop right there and you walk straight into the old city center from the hotel. Breakfast was exceptionally good. We usually have breakfast outside of hotels in local bakeries but this one was worth staying in. The detox juice was particularly good. We also had lunch in the hotel-restaurant, which has a michelin star. Probably the best pork we ever had. All to say, stay here when you're in Bilbao!

a good location to walk around and find bars and cafes to eat and drink. Also pleased as the mix was good from local bars and cafes where the local people eat and drank. Always a good sign - to the tourist traps, and if you wanted fine dining then there were always Michelins star restaurants to choose from ( As also in the hotel )

The car park was a worry if a female was her own. As away from the hotel, in a drive area that was littered with drinking cans. When the car park doors open, there was a time before the electric doors closed, making this feel unsafe. During the day OK, as there was staff working in the office area and the car park attended cleaning cars. Security cameras were in operation.

Great sized room with lovely modern/old decor (bricks were old but refurbished/enhanced with walls of concrete and glass). The bed was extremely comfortable, the view was not great considering the price and only a few feet from the windows in the building opposite, our room rate did not include breakfast or parking so both of those were at additional cost. Breakfast was either a la carte or 'complete' ('complete' included fruit bowl, juice, pastry and cooked breakfast but you could purchase any part of that on the a la carte from about 3 to 12 euros), parking was on the other side of the river from the hotel and 25 euros per night. We had dinner on our last night at the Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel - Ola - and were not disappointed. Very centrally placed in the old town of Bilbao so we managed to walk everywhere including to the Guggenheim Museum but disappointingly, the funicular railway was closed for repair. We booked a wine pairing and Pintxos tour on one of the evenings we were there and couldn't have been more pleased with the tour guide and company. Thoroughly recommend the hotel and restaurant despite the car park/prices and lack of a view.

Car park not close by & the parking charges are steep (having also visited San Sebastian on the same trip, we now believe that it's one of the downsides of staying in the old town of both Bilbao and San Sebastian). There was no view from the room considering we booked a suite which was quite a bit more expensive that standard.

The hotel staff are all so friendly, helpful & professional and the complimentary drink was an extra special treat. As we were early to the hotel it was no problem to leave our luggage in a secure room while we explored the city. The hotel itself is perfectly situated in the old town with all the comforts of a top class establishment. I stayed in a small, single occupancy room which was absolutely perfect, with tea & coffee making facilities, TV, safe, mini bar, hairdryer all topped off with L'occitane products in the bathroom & shower. I would definitely stay here again and kudos to the front of house ladies & gentlemen for being so welcoming.

The bar does not have enough seating.

The hotel is ideally located close to the old town, facing the river. It is surprisingly modern, with beautiful, well lit, perfectly appointed rooms and comfortable beds. Rooms have everything needed (except perhaps a kettle - there is an expresso machine) and the bathroom is ample, well lit, with good toiletries. Also, good TV selection and internet.

Our room had no view at all (a small balcony opened onto a tiny patio closed by a wall), and the "courtesy" welcome is a bit of a joke, as there are no real drinks included - we had mineral water.

They have no parking on site and we had a car The parking space they reserve is súper far from the hotel and it is across the River where it doesn’t look very safe They give you the key to the car wash place where they rent a few parking spaces for their hotel guests and you have to go by yourself We arrived at night and there were some men in the area that looked a bit suspicious There is a lot of car traffic in front of the hotel You can’t even park the car briefly to bring down the luggage If you consider this hotel, make sure you are not driving

Great location on the outskirts of the old town, with easy access to the main local sights. The design of the hotel is nice and the check-in process was simple. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (25 Euro) was nice and the staff were very attentive.

My room looked onto a central service shaft, so the view was poor. I must have missed this in the small print when booking. The hotel was quite noisy, and I could hear other guests moving around their rooms and staff cleaning throughout the day.

From the moment we stepped through the doors, the staff were just amazing. So kind and welcoming, and couldn't do enough for you. It was a birthday treat,alongside anniversary, and also travelling with our dog Oscar. Beautiful bed and treat for Oscar, and lovely hand cream for anniversary, with a little note for each.Beautiful breakfast that set us up for the entire day, again Breakfast staff so friendly. Great location to the Plaza, with great Tapas Bars/Restaurants. Will def call back when travelling through again. Many Many Thanks.

I recently stayed at the Tayko Hotel in Bilbao, and overall, it was a fantastic experience! The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, always going the extra mile to make my stay enjoyable. The location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of the old town, making it easy to explore Bilbao's charm.

The only thing I would have changed about my stay was the mattress, as I personally prefer a firmer one. That said, this is a minor detail in an otherwise excellent experience.
