The staff, especially Adrian, were all fantastic; they're help with everything, from checking in to advice about the local area, made the city break wonderful. The breakfast was very good, great range of choice and very friendly staff who kept the breakfast well stocked. The location was perfect for experiencing Madrid life, its people, its culture and its food. Everything is within about 1-20 minute walk. The rooms were clean, roomy, air-conditioned and I would recommend a room with balcony and street view.

Only minor improvement would be USB charging points in the rooms. But if you have a charger with adaptor for european use, then no problem. Adrian was kind to lend an adaptor that the hotel had, which was really helpful.

Where it is placed in a lively area with great restaurants nearby. Clean, comfortable room with functional air con.

Location is excellent. Walk out the lobby, walk about 50 feet and you're at the Plaza del Sol. The hotel has a restaurant next door that has excellent food and a flamenco tablao. The rooms are very nice, the air conditioning works great, the room temperature was awesome. The TV, however, was not a smart TV and only had basic cable channels, mostly local.

the location is very conveniently situated, near the centre, it’s about a 10 min walk to 2 different metro stations and a 15-20 min walk to the centre. the rooms looked better than in photos. the ceiling is tall enough so you don’t feel suffocated and the view is very nice. the bathroom is also spacious, it looked smaller in the picture but it’s actually great. we had both a toilet and bidet and bathtub. the beds were comfortable, water pressure was very good, we had hot water, towels were clean and the AC worked well. it’s true that at night it can get a bit noisy outside due to the fact that there are plenty of bars and restaurants on the ground floor, but we slept with closed windows and the noise didn’t bother us anymore. the staff is very nice, super helpful. it’s a great thing that they have 24h reception, you can come in late at night and someone will always be there to open the hotel door. didn’t need too much assistance, as we only stayed in the hotel during the night to sleep.

it would’ve been convenient to have plugs near the beds. we only had them across the beds. also, we had a light switch right on the bed frame near the pillow, if you hit it by accident with your head or hand, it would cause the whole room to light up. we also had no slippers and the breakfast room was very cold in the morning due to the AC. the wifi didn’t have the best connection, we stayed at the 4th floor, for reference. we’ve had more noise in the morning (9 am) from other visitors rather than at night from the bars. so if you’re someone that wakes up late, this might happen. bring earplugs.

The hotel is in a great location near Sol so a walking distance to everything with some great eating and drinking spots very close by. I did worry about the reviews about noise but thankfully had a quiet room at the back. Found the staff not the friendliest or most helpful apart from one guy on our first night. Room was clean and kept on top of.

We were on the top floor so only had a small window that looked directly onto the roof. I'd definitely ask for a different floor next time. Would have been nice to be able to watch the activity outside.

I got a room with "view" to the inner courtyard although the reservation was for a room with "City view". There weren't any power outlets near the bed. In the entire (double) room, we had only one power outlet available away from the bed. We had to disconnect the TV in order to have one more.

It has a traditional, Spanish feel, staff was very accommodating and patient, and is centrally located. perfect for us.

I was enjoying breakfast with my husband in the breakfast room and a woman sat down and had a full on conversation on her speakerphone at a table nearby. It was loud and, in my mind, very disrespectful. and I always wonder if the person on the other end of the phone knows that everybody in the breakfast room can hear what she saying. 😩 Somehow I wanted to person attending the breakfast room to ask her to turn her phone off, but that did not happen. I know this is a touchy subject, but it’s unpleasant for guests who are trying to read the newspaper and enjoy their breakfast.
