The food was delicious (particularly the wonderful breakfast spread) and the staff were always extremely pleasant and helpful. I really appreciated the attention to detail with the beautiful flowers as well as the wall paper in the bedroom and about the hotel together with the interesting 'objets' around the public areas.

Didn't like the extra and high cost of the gym and pool entry and had been expecting to be able to use the pool and sauna facilities when booking the hotel. If it could be available for at least an hour or so for hotel guests that would be more acceptable. This was a disappointment.

With a hotel like this there were many plus points however the standout by far was the food, restaurant service, ambience and setting. For somebody that is dairy free, I'm used to having limited options but at this hotel the chefs are exceptional, without notice I was able to have a taster menu and instead of omitting all the rich flavours that you get from dairy, they were able to create alternatives, this was so much appreciated on my behalf and I'm only taking the time to review because of the creativity on the chefs behalves.

The let down for us was the lack of attentiveness at reception, we went twice to ask a question, they said they would come back to us but did not, we had to ask for a third time. They just seemed disinterested and inexperienced at the time we stayed.

A sublime mix of eclectic nic nacs from furniture to art to ornaments to items to purchase in the salon, reception, and corridors of the hotel. The gardens are from an English country estate with beautiful flowers and trinkling fountains. This is an amazing hotel and would love to stay here again. The spa experience was also fantastic. One of the best massages we have ever experienced. The floatarium of Dead Sea salts was very relaxing and the hydro therapy pool with accompanying sauna, steam and ice rooms was amazing. The location just out of town was great with only a 9min taxi back into the heart of the action in Santiago..

We had just finished the Camino and were looking forward to a good massage. We only had a 1 night stay before leaving for home. No massage service was available In hindsight we should have booked out appt when we booked our room. Perhaps a prompt or email advising to book spa services ahead of time would help. So book your spa services well in advance or your likely to miss out.

Luxurious and elegant building, rooms, and furniture. It was a charming place to stay. We enjoyed a snack in the garden from the cafe in front. Sitting in the window of my room felt like sitting in a magic garden. It was quiet with or without the windows open. Short drive to the city. It was nice to have coffee and a lovely glass bottle of complimentary water in the room.

The shower pressure is not good. The robe was a bit worn/torn. The mattress was satisfactory but not good. A pity! The linens and pillows were lovely.

Room was well appointed and attractively furnished. Bed was very large and incredibly comfortable - like sleeping on clouds. I also appreciated how quiet the room was, with an outlook over trees. In terms of facilities, the pool was a great place to relax, with bar service right there. There was also a choice of a cafe or restaurant for eating which catered to different budgets, but both incredibly good. We also went for the breakfast option, which provided us with plenty of delicious choices. Great stay.

The place is really beautiful, staff friendly, helpful and nice with the kids. Food was also good. They gave a small toy as present to my daughter

We went during hot summer days and the room does not have air con but also their cooling system is not good enough. Swimming pool is small difficult to access with stroller and with few sun chairs and almost no towels (there are 10 towels available and they take time to bring another set). Pool service not often available.We found the room dirty first night( quite some red long hairs in the shower) they came to clean and left a chlorine bottle in the bathroom (not safe with little kids).

Lovely old property that has been sympathetically restored from an old paper mill. Breakfast was fine and the breakfast team delivered great service. The rooms were well proportioned (we were in 412) but would advise to get a room further back in the property. The pool area was lovely and quiet, and I thought the spa was good, though a little busy when I visited. The hotel is a taxi ride from town but we had no trouble ordering them and returning from town. The staff in the cafe were also very helpful.

As addressed in other reviews this is lovely property when visiting Santiago, but they have to decide what sort of destination they are. We stayed for 3 days with Saturday being the second night. There was a busy wedding which in some ways took over the hotel, and was very noisy which stretched beyond midnight. In summary, it’s a lovely hotel but check if events are on during your stay.

Property and staff excellent ! The spa great ! But.. it’s far from the center . We arrived to Santiago after walking the Camino and the only way to get to the hotel was either walk another hour or wait 90 minutes for a taxi !! It was exhausting and we didn’t come back to the old City after taking a bath cause we could not afford another 90 minute wait . Hotel has no pick up service arranged with any taxi company , a big minus . The Michelin restaurant was bellow expectations Other than those two issues the hotel is beautiful for its value .

This is a beautiful facility that the hotel group took the time and expense to repurpose from an old stone factory to a lovely hotel. Rooms are spacious , private and buffered from noise excepting the calming waters of the Sil river. The grounds are not overly groomed which gives them a wildness I liked. The staff to a person is kind, pleasant and always helpful. Food service way above standard. I did not use the spa facilities but would expect nothing less given the obvious commitment to excellence.

I can find no deficits with this hotel.
