The room was extremely comfortable, the beds, sheets and pillows, the bathroom, the amenities, the size of the room is perfect and the location too.

Two things caused me some discomfort, they were minor things but could affect other people: because the hotel was very close to the metro station, there was always a little noise from the trains arriving, but I think this was only the apartments facing the back. Another thing, was the distance from the elevator to the apartment. However, there was a fire escape very close to the apartment which was good.

The rooms were spacious but the beds were incredibly uncomfortable, extremely hard which we have found in a lot of the Japanese hotels. We asked reception for some tea bags for the room as we only got coffee sachets & they wanted to charge us 1000yen $10 a teabag when our room was $600 a night with no breakfast. It's in a fantastic position, the foyer area is lovely & dining areas but the rooms are dating. Our floor had lots of stains on it. Overall the position of this hotel is the biggest bonus right at the railway station so very convenient for travel but feels quite impersonal probably due to its size.

Ultra modern facility posing as a grand yesteryear hotel complete with bellhops with no brim cap on. Everyone was eager to please and I was wanting to do the right thing considering the reasonable price I would have easily thought this five star luxury would have been double or triple the price I had a view of the Kyoto Tower from my bed

Coming in on the Haruka line train from Kansai airport the directions were misleading, and we wind up walking the entire train station to find the entrance to the hotel. When in reality, the main entrance was on the second floor up one escalator on the side of the north entrance to the train station once we discover that it was smooth sailing for the four days we stayed some signage would’ve been nice.

I’ve stayed here before and it’s exactly as I remember it - beautiful, well located, and the service is impeccable especially the knowledge and responsiveness of the concierge for restaurant reservations and recommendations. Being located at Kyoto station means you’re well connected to the rest of Kyoto as well as other cities for day trips. Will stay here again next time I am in Kyoto.

A minor point but the bathroom in my room was quite dated, with the shower in a bath that only had a thin shower curtain cover which meant water consistently sprayed onto the bathroom floor. Might have just been the room I booked.

Located in the main Kyoto station, so connections to Osaka KIX limited train and Nagoya Shinkansen were effortless. Local trains all connect into this station. We weren't in Kyoto long so chose that convenience over staying in the historic area. Staff were efficient and very helpful. Besides the mall in the train station, which is huge, there is an underground mall with tons of restaurants just next to the train station. Also a 7-11 right outside hotel entrance : ) Taxis are always available just outside the hotel. Convenient to Fushimi Inari and south-west sights in Kyoto like Kiyomizu-dera. Room and bathroom sizes were generous.

The train station is so large it took awhile to find the hotel after arriving The hotel is also large so it can take a little time to walk to the room.

The room size was stated at 26 sqm but it felt much bigger than that. That was a major plus. The staff were very good and tried their best despite a language barrier. Google translate saved the day. Once the staff understood the request, the requested maintenance was performed before I returned to the room. The international breakfast was quite standard but it had some japanese/kyoto touches which showed their pride and culture. The location can't be beat since it's right inside the Kyoto Station, for travellers going by train it provided the shortest possible walk. The bus stop/terminal is also right in front of Kyoto station, which is very much a bus city.

It's an older hotel so the shower facilities are a bit low-tech. Guests shower in the bath tub and inevitably hair accumulates and the drainage in the tub gets choked up. I would have been happy to clear the debris myself if the hotel provided some tools in the toilet but there was no such tools (plunger, etc). However, the staff cleared the problem very quickly (once google translate came in to solve the language barrier). The water taps are also the old-school water mixer tech so you will always experience a bit of too-hot too-cold before finding the right temp you need.

Kyoto Train Station is an Archiecture Masterpiece. I walked around inside the hotel, checked it out about this station, is a big surprise to me. Should be there and feel about it. Location is excellent, price is fair, next to big shopping stores. A lot of restaurants nearby. Kyoto-Gekijo (big theater) just underneath. Hotel staffs are great, very helpful. Still have newspaper delivered to my room, it is almost a missing service around the globe now.

Due to various customer using the toilet room, the carpet in the toilet room had some stain, unless using ceramic tile. or else it could happen anywhere.

The rooms at this hotel are huge by Japanese standards. The bathroom was very nice too. Staff were helpful and excellent and respectful service was provided. It is located right on top of the train station, but train sounds were minimal with the amount of traffic in the area. The buffet was top notch, with more than enough food -- both western and Japanese and more.

Our rooms were located very far from the elevator. It made you feel that you only wanted to leave the room once a day. Porter service made it easy to manage luggage, however. If you are older and have difficulty walking, I suggest you ask for a room closer to the elevator. The hotel is u-shaped with long corridors! We even saw an elderly couple lost in the maze. There are north and south wings and only one access from either the north or south elevator. There was also some sound of work being done below our rooms at night and early morning.

We booked this for its location at Kyoto Station which offered easy access to trains, buses and even taxis. In cold weather its nice to be able to nip in and out from hotel to take the trains to and from places of interest like Arashiyama, museums and Nishiki Market. Staff were friendly and professional for check in and check out - we arrived a bit early but they checked us in and kept our bags for us while we went exploring. By the time we got back the rooms were ready and our luggage was in the rooms waiting for us. How nice!
