It is clean, quiet and seems quite new. Unlike traditional hotels with damp and old carpet, the floor is clean and the room is bright. Hotels at the London city centre are extremely costly while quality varies (with small rooms), if you opt for a clean environment with reasonable room size, I think this is a sensible choice. The service was excellent, very responsive and straight to the point. Breakfast was good though with limited choices, you might easily enjoy a full english breakfast (eggs, sausages, bacon, veggie, fruits, toasts, muffins, cornflakes …) Transportation was better than expected. Though it is located in East London (closest to Aldgate East station which is the last stop in zone 1), travelling time to major area is short. Regarding the transportation to the airport, if you wish to save the fuss of carrying luggage in changing lines at the underground station, I would suggest you to take 8-minute walk from the hotel to Whitechapel station (right on the Elizabeth Line) and straight to the airport. In addition, there is a drop-off / collection area outside the hotel for Uber/ taxi (Uber from the hotel to the airport could be as low as 30£ but often more than 70£ in most time)

The TV has no YouTube or Netflix options, which I think is quite obsolete.

The hotel itself was great, the facilities were good, the staff was super helpful, and the room was cleaned and tidied on a daily basis

Location is convenient as is in Central London and near the tube but it generally didn’t feel very safe. I appreciate these may have just been coincidental, but one evening, there was a break in at the Tesco Express nearby. The next evening, similar thing in another bar/shop. You could hear police and ambulances quite often…

The decor is appealing, and the rooms are clean with comfortable beds. The room size was adequate, providing a comfortable space. The highlight was the excellent breakfast, featuring a delightful emphasis on English breakfast options. The staff was polite and accommodating. It's worth noting that the surrounding area is populated by a large Muslim community due to the nearby mosque.

Unfortunately, I have to give a significant negative feedback regarding the comfort here. From early hours, around 7/8 a.m. on Sundays, the cleaning service started tidying up neighboring rooms. Due to frequent door opening and closing, it created drafts and noise, which affected a component in our bathroom and was unbearable (some cabinet or chimney). Additionally, check-out is at 12 p.m., but the cleaning staff knocked on our door three times in the morning, checking if we were leaving early. This needs improvement!!!

We liked the auto check-in process most and second, the restaurant, the concept and the food was good.

Mattress and pillows were not confortable as expected.

The location is convenient and the staff very helpful. There are always 2 small bottles of water in the room and clean towels every day. Many choices at breakfast. Also we really appreciated that people took care of our air conditioning problem. The problem was that we couldn't turn it off. They said that it was supposed to stay like this, on all the time for our own safely but the noise was not bearable. So we asked them to turn it off for us and they did. It was not pleasant but at least we could sleep without the noise on top of our heads. One day before we left they fixed it so that we could switch it on and off by ourselves.

The mattresses are not comfortable.

Our stay at the Hyatt was absolutely lovely from check in, to check out! The hotel staff were friendly and professional, so helpful and accommodating. Our room was perfect, the bed was incredibly comfortable and we had everything we needed including tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries, towels ect. Robes and slippers were bought to the room on request. We had a drink in the roof top bar, which has absolutely stunning city views! The location was perfect, within walking distance of spittle field market and everything we needed to attend a jack the ripper walking tour. Lots of lovely places to eat near by too! One very lovely and personal touch was that on returning back from a walk to the market the hotel staff had placed a birthday well wishes card and two small chocolate bars in our room, as they knew we were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. We really appreciated that gesture and it went a long way!

There honestly is nothing to say that we did not like about our stay.

The room was very spacious and clean with sufficient equipment. The staff was very nice and friendly, especially the staff at the breakfast. The breakfast itself was delicious. The hotel is situated very close to the Tower and Tower Bridge. There is an Unterground station within 5 minutes walk, so everything is reachable.

The neighbourhood of the hotel is not very nice - it is a bit dirty, so I would not feel very safe walking in the late evening/night there. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Great hotel in Whitechapel, super location next to Bricklane and close to Aldgate East. The hotel is well designed, rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is lovely with a lot of choices. Staff is exceptionally kind and professional. I had a really lovely stay here!

The lighting in the room can be a tad dark, but this is overall okay as we're mainly there to sleep! Also, it's odd that there's no plug behind where the coffee maker is stored in the room - or perhaps I didn't find it. So this required moving it about each time it was used. But these are incredibly minor points!

The staff at this hotel are warm, courteous and overall excellent. Our room was quiet, even though the hotel was on a busy road; it was spacious by London standards, the AC was silent, and well-set. The bed was very comfortable and the room had everything we needed. Good public transport and dining options nearby. It was a special occasion and the staff made every effort to make it a lovely stay, extended check-out, drinks at the great little rooftop bar and chocolates in the room. We left delighted by our stay.

I had a great stay at Hyatt Place London City East. The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from Aldgate East Tube Station, making it easy to access public transport, or get an Uber or Bolt. The room is surprisingly spacious for a central London hotel, and the Christmas decorations really added to the festive atmosphere. The breakfast spread was excellent, with a variety of options including meat, eggs, hash browns, cereals, toast, spreads, coffee, and fresh fruit juices. The room itself was comfortable, with a beautiful view, great air conditioning, and reliable Wi-Fi. A special thank you to the team for the thoughtful birthday gesture—it really made my stay extra memorable. The amenities were also well-thought-out, with a coffee maker, tea, mini fridge, ironing board, hair dryer, and a safe. The gym is impressive, equipped with Technogym gear.

A couple of small suggestions: It would be great to have YouTube available directly on the TV, rather than needing to cast from your phone, and additional toiletries like a toothbrush and body lotion would be appreciated. Overall, a fantastic stay!
