The facilities and room was clean and exceeded my expectations. Housekeeping/cleaning services would come by everyday to clean the rooms. And finally the Free Breakfast. The staff were also Nice and welcoming, however some staff were a bit rude. Other then that, I quite enjoyed my 10 nights stay.

Although a Free breakfast was included with the booking, the Free Breakfast semi-buffet was a bit lacking, in-terms of food options. There was only a minimal selection of Toast, Bread, and other baked goods. And the same 2 kind of fruits each day. If you wanted Eggs, Sausage, Bacon or anything else you had to pay $8 for an "Breakfast Upgrade".

Convenient location; decent room, good size with a separate sitting area; good continental breakfast; friendly and responsive staff. The staffs were quick to respond to our complaints & requests with regards to the room facilities & take corrective actions to fix the problems as much as possible. We had to extend our stay for an extra week and we got it at a better rate than booking with Booking.com!

The room's air conditioning, the mattress, and lighting in the washroom and bedroom. Direction of air flow from the air conditioner is not adjustable, so it's either too cold or too hot for me. Also the air coming out from the air cond.had a mouldy smell, it needs deep cleaning! The bed was too soft for us, but they didn't have other options to correct that. Lighting is not sufficient in the bathroom and the bedroom areas.

Your questionare asked about breakfast and what I liked. Very basic breakfast. When you are competing with a variety of local venues. The hotel itself is cozy, friendly, not the mainstream experience from similar priced hotels in their category. People make the experience and the staff is exceptional. It became home as I booked a 10 day stay, divided by both locations of this brand. Considered it a home away from home.

In a past life a continental breakfast included, a hot meal. Eggs, bacon, sausages etc. Not just oatmeal. These are now a billable item. Buffet style continental breakfast have gone from hotel perks, to cut costs. It does send the guest out the door to explore alternatives. The local market reaps the benefits for breakfast traffic and now the discovery for lunch and dinner venues.

The first lovely thing we noticed was the beautiful water fountain just outside the front doors, which was refreshing to be near on the hot summer day we visited, and gave the hotel a luxurious vibe. The staff at the front desk was genuinely friendly and helpful, and check-in was hassle-free (a relief after a long, hot day of driving without AC). They even offered us a big cart to take our belongings to our room, we no other hotel has offered us. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the price was much better than we’ve paid elsewhere. A bonus surprise was a nice big bathtub (most hotel rooms in my experience only offer a stand up shower) and i loved the bathroom’s modern asthetic (a silver and white look: see photos i’ve included), and I enjoyed the calming glow of light from behind the bathroom mirror so much that I’m trying to figure out how to emulate that effect in my bathroom at home! Even the stairwells were nice, clean, bright and felt safe. The breakfast was amazing! There were these little apple turnover danish things…i ate 4! I’m usually not a fan of cold, hard-boiled eggs, but for whatever reason, the ones served at the restaurant were exceptional, very fresh, so i had 2, and whole wheat toast with butter was great - so simple and good. I didn’t have any coffee, but my husband said it was excellent and he also complimented the muffins. There were so many choices that I didn’t even try: fresh fruit, juices, cereal, yogurt, bagels, croissants, peanut butter, jams… something for everyone.

I found the roar of the air conditioner in the room quite loud (even with earplugs), although I don’t think this would bother most people. So we turned it off at night, but - no surprise - the room then got quite warm (mind you, we did visit during an unusually bad heat wave in August 2025). It would’ve been nice if there was a way to open the window for some fresh, cool night air.

Vending machines waters r frequently empty and no other options than pop. How about adding juices to the empty stops. Nothing for kids to consume.

I would like the opportunity to check out later. I go for medical treatment and need to rest afterwards but my family can’t get me until. 4 or 5 pm. Or the option to check in earlier at 11 am. Plus, what can’t we have pets? Many hotels cater to pets and more people travel with their pets these days. Would like a fee without breakfast included. I can never have it because of the medical procedure I am staying that day. Which is why I am there every 5 weeks.

The staff were lovely and friendly. We were greeted kindly and we were able to acquire the room earlier than expected. We travelled from London for a funeral so it was nice to be able to check in earlier to relax a little. The room and washroom were clean and the beds were comfortable. The room was spacious and very clean.

The bathroom could use an upgrade - toilets should be replaced with new, taller ones to make it easier for seniors. The lighting could be upgraded as well - could use a ceiling light rather than just the light behind the mirror - would be easier to see especially when getting ready for the days events. Besides these small fixes, the bathroom itself was very clean and shower head was especially nice.

We loved how the property is well kept. We didn’t see any broken pipes or chipped paints. The Bathroom toiletries were very calming. We had one little problem though. The jacuzzi jets were not working but we made the best of it. Another suggestion that I would like to give is about the lobby couches They were too low for me to sit in. Seeing that I have a back issue and standing from a seated position can be difficult. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Monte Carlo and will most definitely recommend it to family and friends

The front counter staff was great. Polite and helpful, the gentleman that checked us in was hilarious! The plug for our hot tub broke, but they were great with replacing it. We also had never been to Markham, and he gave us lots of awesome ideas for things to do right near the hotel.

The breakfast wasn’t anything special. Having to pay the same price to “upgrade” to bacon and eggs as if you just walked in off the street is not really an upgrade but more like a bait and swap. And the safe didn’t work in our room.

Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. High ratings are due to the staff. The young woman who checked us in (I think her name was Olga) could not have been more helpful. I messed up with Uber and she saved me and my husband by getting our problem solved. Also, the young lady in the dining room at breakfast was both friendly and helpful. A lot of hotels are comparable in terms of cleanliness and comfort, but not all have the calibre of staff at the Monte Carlo.

Comfortable, clean, quiet, nice staff. Lovely jacuzzi room. Restaurant staff exceptional and very accommodating. Was hoping for a latte or cap, but it turned out they didn’t have an espresso machine anymore. Turned out they make really great drip coffee so I didn’t miss my usual espresso.

Could have better security. No chain or deadbolt on the door. Breakfast is underwhelming. Most would prob want the $8 upgrade. Hard to locate in the dark.. entry is actually on Hooper St
