My friend recommended going to APA hotels as he said they offer a decent baseline of comfort at a reasonable price. I've gone to three APA hotels (Yodoyabashi Kitahama Ekimae in Osaka, and in Tokyo, Asakusa and Shinjuku), and i can say all three exceeded my expectations and they are consistent in their presentation, comfort, location and amenities Location was reasonable - about 15-20 minutes from the Asakusa Shrine and about 5 minutes to two train lines While the room was small, the fittings were very presentable which added to the sense of comfort Reception were always welcoming and helpful, particularly with filling out my baggage transfer Also, the coin operated laundry machine and dryer was very convenient In future, I'd definitely stay at APA hotels again

There was confusion around my stay and the cleaning schedule. The elevator sign said there would be no cleaning services over the new year period, however, the mandatory 3 day cycle of room cleaning still occurred. This was not made apparent to me, so i had to awkwardly rush to move my bag under the bed as requested and exit the room

I LOVED the receptionists' friendly attitude and courtesy upon welcoming me! They were extremely helpful with my request to adjust the technical issue with. my TV in my room. The towels were refreshed every day, and the scheduled-room-cleaning was performed precisely. The quality of my sleep in my room was exceptional throughout my entire 4-night-Japan solo trip! The room itself was incredibly sound-proof and light-proof, causing a hermetical seal between me and the outside world, which was perfect, because I wanted excelsior sleep after wandering the streets of Osaka for fourteen hours!

I hated the TV setting which automatically turned it on each time I entered my room/inserted my hotel key card for lights. Each time I returned to my hotel room I would have to manually turn off the TV, which was a nuisance! The gap between the bathroom sink and the bathtub is too narrow, and the bathtub edge is too high - I hit my left thigh hard when I entered the tub. I wish there was a one-button-switch to turn off all the lights in my room, but that's idealistic.

Staff speaks english and the TV has a dashboard to remind you of the cleaning days, checkout days and even the weather forecast. Although its located inside an alley, it is still very safe to walk at night. There are convenient stores and supermarket within walking distance.

I've been to other APA hotels where hair dryers are provided but this one does not. However, I believe it can be requested. Typical japanese rooms that are small and not much space to open your luggage. They recommend to keep your luggage under the bed to maximise space but opening it will require some moving around.

Enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is located 10 mins away from Yodoyabashi station which is 10 mins away from Shin Osaka station. It also has Kitahama station within 2 minutes on foot. The hotel is nice and clean, the staff will take care of your luggage should you arrive hours before the check in. Osaka Castle is around 36 mins away on foot, but you can also take a bus to it. There is a very cute shrine only 4 minutes away from the hotel. Overall, the location is convenient, the hotel is nice, room clean, have laundry service, stable and fast wifi, and staff is helpful, so definitely recommend.

Compact room with well thought out space. Was expecting it to be smaller but it was actually quite comfortable. Luggage can be opened fully to pack. There is space under the bed when luggage not in use. For reference, I am 1.6m, and my son was 1.72m. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Small suggestion: replace towels only when guests put dirty towels outside the room as stated by hotel. We had too many sets of towels/refreshments/toiletries. Other than that, all's great!

Room was small but good enough for the quick stay we had. I had to store my bags under the bed which was ok. The location was great, right between 2 metro stations. They were both easy to access. Overall the hotel was nice and clean.

The washroom could have allowed for the toilet to not be right beside the wall, it was too tight of a fit. Some more room in the room would have been nice. The bed was a little stiff and the pillows selection could have been better

Great location. I was coming from Hiroshima and leaving to Kyoto after the trip. I had an easy arrival and connection to my next destination and within the city from this hotel. This was my first time staying at a APA hotel and I would definitely stay again. It’s good value and services. My room felt comfortable, nice bed, enjoyed watching a movie, had a good space to keep things in the fridge, and a comfortable yukata. I appreciated that I could store my luggage before/after reservation for a few hours to see a bit more of the city.

My 2nd stay at an APA Hotel and, as expected, it met my expectations. While not located near any tourist areas, it was a quick 10 minute subway ride to downtown Osaka. Since the weather was amenable, I quite enjoyed the 30-40 minute walk to/from Dotonbori. It's also one stop away from Osaka-Umeda Station so it was an ideal location for day trips.

The room was clean but I think the shower/bathtub was forgotten--it was not a pleasant experience to remove the previous guests' hair clogging the drain. Also, as with the previous APA Hotel, they were too generous with the amenities. I had specifically requested that I didn't need any more but I kept returning to a new bag of goodies every evening.

The location is fine, nothing too great. 10-12 min walk from the metro station, would have preferred if it was a little closer. But besides that, the room was ore spacious than similar hotels I stayed at in Tokyo. Two things I really liked- 1. A chair with wheels infront of a huge mirrored-dresser to get ready 2. The individual AC controls for each part of the room.

I like the staff, very friendly and accomodating. Though it was a bit of a challenged when it comes to language barrier, but all in all the staff are really amazing. The location is just few steps away from the nearest metro. And the price, it really saved me from staying in a capsule hotels as is it my last options if prices of hotel rooms in Japan are high. But good thing I found this hotel. And now I booked another of their property in Tokyo.

some places in the room is a bit dusty but that doesnt really matter. but i do hope they will look into that.
