Overall Rating: 7.5 / 10 I had an overall pleasant stay with several things I really appreciated, along with a few areas that could use some improvement.What I liked: Location: 9/10 Great location, in the center of the old area of the Beautiful Annecy, accessible to Annecy lake, restaurants, walking distance from Annecy train and bus station * Warm and welcoming staff — everyone was kind and helpful throughout my stay. A special thanks to the manager and to Younis, who kindly helped carry my bags to my room. Their positive attitude really stood out. * Comfortable and clean room — the bed was cozy, the bathroom was modern and spotless, and housekeeping came daily with fresh towels. * Working amenities — both the air conditioning and TV worked perfectly, which made the stay more comfortable.

What could be better: * There was no fridge in the room, which was quite surprising, especially during the summer when it’s really helpful to keep water or fruit cool. * A coffee machine would have been a nice touch — only a kettle was available. * The lighting in the room felt too strong — the bedside and desk lamps were quite harsh, making it hard to relax in the evening. * The curtains didn’t provide enough privacy or block out light, so streetlights at night and early morning sunlight came through easily, which affected sleep quality. It’s a hotel with a lot of positives, especially when it comes to staff and cleanliness. With a few adjustments to the room setup, it could easily become an excellent place to stay.

We recently spent 10 days at Icone Hotel in Annecy and had a fantastic experience. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the charming old town, with easy access to restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies and shops. It's also only about a 10-minute walk to the beautiful Annecy Lake and the famous Palais de Luil making it ideal for exploring the area on foot. It is a safe place and can easily explore other villages using the bus. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with daily housekeeping that kept everything in great shape throughout our stay. The reception and housekeeping staff were all friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which really made a difference. We truly enjoyed our time at Icone Hotel and would definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Annecy. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a convenient and pleasant stay in this lovely town!

stayed at this charming 2-star hotel in Annecy and was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed it — in fact, I believe it deserves a rating above 8.0. While it’s officially rated 7.7, it truly exceeded my expectations. The location is unbeatable — right in the center of Annecy, yet peaceful and quiet. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the main train and bus station, super close to the lake, boat rides, shops, and everything you need. Everything is within walking distance. The room was small, as expected, but had a cozy, warm, almost “cabin-like” feeling to it. It was extremely clean, with a modern and spotless bathroom, a very comfortable bed, and even air conditioning, which is a huge bonus in France — not something to take for granted! There’s no elevator, so guests with mobility challenges should keep that in mind, but I had no trouble with my small suitcase. From my window, I had a lovely view of one of Annecy’s main charming streets, which really added to the experience. The reception staff were wonderful — kind, welcoming, and even spoke a bit of English, which made things easier. And let’s talk about the price — absolutely amazing for what you get. I truly hope it stays that way, because I’d love to return again and relive that lovely Annecy feeling with them. Easy to find, quiet yet central, with that special kind of warmth that makes your stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Although my overall stay was lovely, it would have been really heartwarming to receive a small birthday gesture, especially as a solo traveler. Even a simple welcome note, card, or small treat upon arrival would have made a difference. In many hotels around the world, such thoughtful touches are common — and they truly stay in guests’ hearts. It’s a small effort with a big impact. I believe adding such gestures in the future could be a very sweet upgrade to the experience.

If you are looking for accommodation from where to explore Annecy's ancient town, this is the best choice! Step through the passage next to the hotel and immediately you are transported back in time. Magical restaurants, shops and sights are literally on your doorstep. And the bakery .... I will dream about their croissants and brioches for years to come! The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and the beds comfortable. I am currently not a breakfast eater so I cannot comment on it, but the spread looked good.

There is no lift/elevator. I knew this beforehand so I was prepared. Just bear this in mind if you travel with the kitchen sink like I do.

The manager lady she is so friendly and helpful , the staff all were very nice especially “YOUNIS” a big thank” Merci beaucoup” to him for helping me with lifting my bag to my room. The bed and pillows very much comfortable.

The hotel is an old building that has been renovated with a stylish modern design. However, there’s no elevator. My room was on what they called the 2nd floor, but in terms of stairs, it felt more like the 4th floor. I wasn’t comfortable going up and down all those stairs. No coffee machine

Location right at the old town, very helpful staff, close to the reasonably priced parking garage, updates in some rooms. Good price. We’ve been assigned a room with a nicely updated bathroom (but awkwardly situated bed) facing the old town street and, unknown to us, there is a disco place across the street. First night there was a bit of noise but when we closed the window it was ok. The second night, the place was busy, people were smoking, talking, making a lot of noise until about 4 am and we could hear them through the closed window and ear plugs. We didn’t get much sleep. We asked to be moved and we were given a room with a bit outdated bathroom, a good layout, and very comfortable mattress, facing the quiet courtyard. We were fine with the second room. So please be aware if you are light sleeper.

Absolutely amazing stay! Thank you to Linda for her kindness and professionalism. The hotel is 2 min away form the city centre, there are restaurants and cafes on the same street and just 10 min walking form the station. The room is well sized, has a comfortable bed, kettle and tea, fresh towels every day.

A little bit noisy due to a discotheque in front but we couldn’t hear it more than 1 night. There are rooms on the other side if you’re a light sleeper.

The room was very clean and a good size, the bed and pillow were comfy. There was coffee and biscoff biscuits left once the room was cleaned. Our window looked out to the lovely view of the pretty street below. There was a small heater to use if it got a little chilly in the room. The people who work here are very welcoming and friendly. There's a fab pizza place downstairs, the pizza is really good. The hotel is situated in a great area, it's a 10 min walk from the bus/train station and Lake Annecy. There are some lovely restaurants and coffee places nearby, also an amazing bakery a minute walk away, delicious pastries. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting beautiful Annecy. 😊

There was nothing we didn't like. The only thing I could think of to mention is there is no lift, but this was not a problem for us at all.

I like everything about this hotel. Let's start with the location which is fantastic. It is just 10 minutes walk from the train station, along a safe and lively street. It sits on the edge of the Old Town, so within one minute you are in the beautiful Old Town. Hotel rooms in Europe are generally small to very small, but not at this hotel. My room was big, spacious, very clean and had a nice layout. The price was good and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Good location on the edge of the pedestrian area of Annecy so easy access to restaurants and the lake. We arrived cold and wet from cycling and found the room air conditioning on maximum! Check-in staff were helpful in quickly resolving problem.

Downside of the location at the edge of pedestrian area means street noise can be an issue at night.
