We had a family room - king size bed plus sofa bed - which was a little on the small side. However, the beds were very comfortable and the room was serviced every day. One of the reasons we booked the hotel was because of the pool, which was great, plenty of places to sit in the shade - it was very hot - and towels provided. Breakfast was a buffet and there was an excellent choice every morning. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. There is a tram stop very close to the hotel which makes getting into the centre of Bordeaux really easy. We stayed for four nights and had a very enjoyable stay.

The location outside of the centre of Bordeaux means there are very limited options for dining if you don’t want to go into the city. We had dinner in the hotel a couple of times which was fine. There is an Italian quite close which was pretty poor and a steak bar next door - the Hippopotamus- with such awful service we left before eating. Bordeaux has some great restaurants though and well worth the effort of going into there.

Friendly, helpful staff. The pool area and bar were perfect for after a long drive. Afflingem on draft which is my favourite beer! Family room was spacious and clean for 2 adults and 2 children. Location was ideal for a 1 night stop over on our way south. Amazing value for money.

Restaurant is closed on a Sunday but we knew this before arriving. Not a big problem as a couple of nice places to eat next door.

Room and bedding both clean and bed quite comfortable. Shower water was good and hot. Only a short walk to the Lake for an evening stroll

Bedroom was quite cold and heating seemed to be on a static setting. Not ideal if you have just driven up from Costa del Sol. Hallway carpets were dirty as was the carpet in our room and paper had started to peel from the walls in places. General overhaul is needed to bring the hotel to a better standard

Excellent location and friendly staff. Hotel was quiet and having a check out time of 12:00 was brilliant. We also appreciated the free parking. Beds were comfy.

The bathroom wasn’t great. The toilet seat was broken and there was quite a bit of mould in the shower silicone with damage to the bathroom door. A half used bottle of water was left in the fridge from a previous guest.

we went for The Weeknd concert which was at matmut atlantique stadium so the hotel is in very close proximity. Rooms were big, clean and comfortable. reception staff were exceptionally efficient and pleasant.

the shower cubicle! it’s only half closed so the water comes out of the cubicle, into the bathroom and then into the room which was carpeted which resulted in a wet carpet for the entirety of our trip. you could see the door to the bathroom was also perished because of the constant water splashing on it.

Staff were friendly. Pool was lovely. Tram stop was only a couple of minutes away including bowling, karting, McDonald's, pasta restaurant. The hippopotamus steak house restaurant part of the hotel had lovely food. It was nice and quite which is what we were looking for. Beds were comfy. As a first time visit from Ireland to Bordeaux I would recommend this hotel.

There should be more information on how to get to the tram stop. Our son found the mattress on the pull out sofa bed a bit uncomfortable.

Hotel was modern, friendly and clean. Secure car park in the grounds and good location for a stop over just off main routes. Good sized room for a family with 2 kids. All clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. We never booked for evening meal but the manager set up a table and chairs for us especially to accommodate and the food was excellent. Fully recommend the beef!

We stayed for one night with our 2 large dogs. We were all made to feel very welcome. As with other Mercure hotels, the dogs were allowed into the bar area. The room was spacious and well equipped. A good range of food at the breakfast buffet. The receptionist on arrival was lovely and very helpful.

The restaurant in the hotel was closed as it was a Sunday night, so we were directed to the Hippopotumus restaurant next door. The food there was nice, but almost cold when it arrived. The barman in the hotel kept going missing for long periods, so we had to keep going to reception to get some service.

When we can't stay in the centre of Bordeaux we always book this as our fallback. The staff are super friendly and they didn't even charge us for our dog staying. The staff member on reception even remembered us from staying there a few months previously! Location is perfect for shopping at the LAC shopping mall and for quick access to and from the airport.

It is a bit far out without a car, we did stay here once and got taxi's to the centre and back which was expensive but there is a tram stop a few minutes away

Breakfast was great and all the staff were really lovely. Huge bonus was the swimming pool and outdoor area with bar and food service on the very hot days. Enjoyed the themed floors and artist rooms and decor. Thank you Mercure Lac!

The rooms were starting to look a bit worn and air conditioning didn't seem to work that well but everything else was great.
