Great hotel, recently refurbished very comfortable room with queen and single bed with Aircon. Good sized, clean modern bathroom and coffee machine in room. Staff very friendly and welcoming and able to speak English every well. Restaurant downstairs was able.to accomodate us without booking and had choice of 1, 2 or 3 course set menu with buffet style starters and desserts and choice of 3 main courses. Only stayed 1 night for early ferry from Caen the next day which was 20 minutes easy drive from hotel. Free carpark with barrier also. Will definitely stay again, thank you!

The hotel appeared recently refurbed and we were delighted because when we booked it was rated 2 star, and to be honest, it was nicer than some 4 stars we had stayed at. We arrived at around 11:00pm but the reception area was staffed - and the bar was open until 1:00am. There were plenty of parking spaces and it was secure enough. You need a code to get in after a certain time, which reception provided. The hotel itself was way above our expectations - so much so that we booked to stay on our return. The rooms were clean and comfortable and air conditioned. The air-con was blasting away, but easy to change. The showers are a generous size and there is a proper hairdryer (not one of these secured to a wall) and plenty of fluffy towels. There was no view to speak of, but we were only doing a night stop. There is a Buffalo Grill restaurant literally next door to the hotel, and close by, Chinese, Italian and French restaurants. The Staff were charming, and extremely helpful and friendly and spoke English (and didn't laugh at my French). They booked us a taxi into town. Nothing was too much trouble. There are regular Trams into Caen close to the hotel if you prefer. There is a large Carrefour nearby where you could do your food shop before you head off on your journey. The breakfast was great - lots of choice from a cooked English to continental style - so something for everyone. I would definitely recommend it for an overnight stay.

Perhaps instructions for the Nespresso machine. I had no clue how to work it and ended up getting water everywhere!!

Lovely little hotel, nice staff, room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was usual continental but good quality and choice.

Only one problem really, we expected that we would eat at the hotel in the evening as we were only staying for one night as a stopover, we’d been up very early that morning, had a long journey and didn’t fancy venturing too far but were told the restaurant is closed on a Friday evening, didn’t see mention of that when we booked. There was a restaurant next door we used which was ok, expensive for what we got though but it had to do!

Second time we booked with Le Carline. All perfect, we loved it, spot clean, very calm. No-nonsense wifi, just connect and that's it, no lengthy procedure to register. Personnel very welcoming, attentive, even remembered that we were there. On checkout we forgot a tablet, soon after phone call to let us know. Bonus: great location to visit Caen. We came by car, parked at the hotel, leisurely went by public transport, tram and bus stop almost next door.

It may seem strange to have rated this top for location when it is located away from the town centre, but just across the road is a tram stop and for just a few euro's you can get to any part of the town and all its facilities very quickly, with no parking charges or having to drive home afterwards. Facilities were very good, as was the breakfast. Also, the free secure parking at the hotel is a bonus.

Clean, friendly hotel with easy access on Caen ring-road for ferry port, Normandy beaches and memorial locations. 20 minutes walk into the centre, or alternatively, two minute walk to light rail into the centre. Close to restaurants and a shopping centre with a large supermarket. Free restricted access parking. All good for what we needed.

Room was small and was a bit tight for a three-night stay, but I would stay here again.

The hotel is very nice and well furnished, cleaned and cosy for family and business trip. Nice main area with sofas, tables to plug your computer and a bar to relax. Also the restaurant is a big plus. Have a place to eat in the hotel after a long day is very convenient. The breakfast is also very good. The room has everything you need and a nice bathroom with enough space to move. The staff is very professional and warm. Good money for value.

The staff was super helpful and friendly. We came late at night with a pizza take-out (everything else was already closed) and they let us sit in the dining room, provide us with cutlery and napkins and even took the pizza cartons to the dump so won't have to go out in the rain. Room was very nice, spacious enough for 3 adults, shower was very good. Everything was clean and well maintained. Breakfast had a good variety of food, coffee, tea and juices. The had a privet parking with additional cost.

The room is basic but extremely clean and all my needs were catered for. Coffee machine in the room was a bonus. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The secure parking exactly as described and I felt sure I would see my motorbike in the morning which is always my first priority when travelling.

Very difficult to find the hotel with all the new building work being undertaken at the nearby Hospital and confusing detours. Both sat navs could not find the location. The room was smaller than expected but no reasn not to stay again.

Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff who helped us find the right vehicle charging point. Great dinner : generous buffet and main portions, good service and a pleasant dining room.

The hotel is in the middle of the city's hospital campus, so it is quiet. Well placed for commercial estates and for access to the road to the Channel ferry port (20 minutes by car).
