Hotel Locarno is a welcoming location, located in a quiet area. We paid by card when we checked in. We received an invoice. The hotel is located 5 minutes from the very beautiful promenade of Nice. We were there in February, during the Nice Carnival. The staff at the reception and at the restaurant were dressed for the carnival. The breakfast was good, a buffet, enough food. All day long you can drink free coffee, tea, juice from the machine in the restaurant's dining room. There are many tables and chairs where you can sit in the hotel lobby. Across the road from the hotel is a pastry shop (Armand) with good products. In the room (210) we had a radiator, TV and a small fridge. The bathroom had a shower and hot water all the time. We also had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. We took tram 2 from Nice airport, about 30 minutes, to the university center station, from where we walked 10 minutes to the hotel. We left our luggage in a room locked by the reception staff.

Hotel close to the city center, but in more silent neighbourhood, vicinity of pizza and coffee shops, supermarkets and direct tram line to airport. The hotel is old one but well maintained and refreshed with new mid century furniture and details. Rooms may be bigger but good enough. Breakfast is excellent with great choice of fresh food. The staff extremely polite and always happy to help and provide stunning service. Thank you for having us!

Fantastic stay at Locarno! The room was smaller than expected, but the view from the room out to the street was very nice. The AC was good and the temperature in the room was comfortable, and the room was cleaned very well. Very quiet hotel as well, and we slept amazing. Staff was incredibly kind and friendly; they were always happy to help and answer questions. There's also beach towels you can rent for free from reception, which was great! Our flight was in the evening, so we had all day in Nice even though we had to check out of our room at 11, but there's a shower room with towels and a toilet in the reception area that you can use even after you check out, which was really good (and we also got an extra towel each to shower with when we requested it), so we could go to the beach again during the day! The location is good, as it's right by the beach, and a bit away from the really touristy areas, so it's more relaxed and not so crowded outside. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel and what it offered, and I would definitely stay here again!

My only complaint is that the Wifi was a bit slow in our room, and it disconnected quite frequently, so it was hard to use the internet at times. Also, we didn't really like the 2-in-1 shower gel & shampoo in the bathroom, and it would be nicer to have separate ones and maybe a conditioner too (since swimming in the ocean means salty and frizzy hair). My tip would be to bring your own products if you're picky with toiletries.

Just to put a bit more supervision of the cleaning of the rooms... I found some long black hair on the bed (I have short blonde hair)... and the 2 containers of shower gel were empty But that didn't spoiled my trip...

Friendly and polite receptionists. Great location, close to the beach. Clean room and sheets. Powerfull AC. Good wifi. Terrace on first floor. Lots of options and good food at breakfast. Towels and beach umbrellas. You can take a shower on the ground floor.

Shampoo, soap etc in one bottle. ( I expected more/better quality for the price) Small balcony. Terrible sound isolation. Low shower pressure on upper floors. Small elavator. The rooms could use a design upgrade.

The hotel is just a few minutes from the water, making its location ideal! The room was fine—nothing too fancy, but perfect for a good night's sleep. The beds were surprisingly very comfortable, as were the pillows. The bathroom was newly renovated, and we received fresh towels every day, along with daily room cleaning. Breakfast was outstanding, with a huge selection that was always fully stocked. A big plus is the availability of vegan options—not many, but there were fruits, vegetables, chia seeds, oats, various plant-based milks, coffee, tea, and fresh juices, which was great to see. Everyone at the reception was incredibly kind and always ready to help with a smile. A huge advantage is the separate area where you can leave your luggage and rest if you have a late flight. The late check-out option is another big plus. Nice is absolutely beautiful, and we will definitely return to Locarno. Highly recommended!

Staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Classic room was very compact and although fine for a few.days I would not want to be staying for a week. We found the breakfast to be very good, lots of choice and regularly replenished throughout breakfast. A slight criticism, would be that the hotel shower was a little underwhelming, not really hot or powerful enough to make make it good. Hotel is located about 5 Mins walk from Tram stop and Nice"s public transport was excellent. I would stay here again as I feel hotel was good value for money.

The location is amazing, very close to the beach, but the city centre is also easily accessible. The staff was also amazing, very kind and helpful. I felt home again now the second time with my dog, and whenever we will visit Nice again, we will definitely stay at Hotel Locarno. :) And I also really liked all the improvements after my last stay, e.g. the size of the shower. It is not big, but it was a bit extended, so perfectly fine. The variety of the breakfast was also very great and healthy. Everyone could find their own taste.

The cleaning in the bathroom could be better done.

Excellent location - 5 minutes from Promenade des Anglais and about 20-25 minutes stroll along the promenade to the Old Nice area. Our room - a triple - was a good size with a proper 3rd bed, not a sofa-bed and all were very comfortable. Bathroom had both a bath/shower and separate shower room. Breakfast was good with a range of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, pain au chocolat, breads, cold meats, and some hot food (boiled egg, scrambled egg, sausage and a spinach-based sauce thing!). There is a small terrace on the first floor with tables and chairs, but there isn't really a view as it just overlooks the road next to the hotel. But it does allow you to sit outside if you don't have a balcony, like us.

Our room - 100 - was on the ground floor right beside the breakfast room and kitchen area (we had to walk through the breakfast room to get to it) and even though it was insulated, it was quite noisy in the morning from 6.30 when the kitchen staff arrived. Also being ground level meant it was noisy as we were beside the road. My wife and son weren't bothered, but I'm quite a light sleeper, so I had to wear earplugs all week, which is not ideal.

Great hotel with an excellent location, just a 3-minute walk from the sea. We arrived on 8th January, the delightful Christmas decoration were still up, making our stay more charming. Staff was really helpful, fluent in English. Breakfast is perfect, offering a wide variety of dishes. We particularly enjoyed the coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. The in-room coffee machine with free coffee capsules was a pleasant experience. Chek-in and check-out is quick. Room and bathroom were clean, towels replaced daily. Tram line 2 for airport access is only a few minutes walk, the city center is cca. 30-40 minutes walk. Considering the fair pricing and super location, this hotel is value for money. We would pick this place again coming to Nice. Highly recommended!

As other guests have noted, the complimentary coffee capsules were only provided on the first day, which we found a bit puzzling. However, this wasn't an issue - when I requested more at the Reception, the guy kindly gave four additional ones (including milk cream) without hesitation. Aside from this minor detail, there were absolutely no negatives.
