The entire staff and service of the hotel could not have been better. And you can't beat the location if you're looking for a lively area to visit, very close to the Pantheon (which is quite underrated among tourists, I believe). Even though we experienced a slight inconvenience during our trip, not to the fault of the hotel or any of its staff, the Grand Hotel Saint-Michel exceeded our expectations to make up for any problem on our part. From the front desk (day and night staff) to the service staff (rooms were made up efficiently and smartly) to the breakfast room (what a spread!) ours was a first class experience.

The rooms could be a little larger for 3, but that's the old world. Sleep in your hotel and enjoy the space of Paris itself.

The remodeled superior and luxury rooms on floors 1 and 5 are really nice and charming. Bathrooms are small and storage is limited (something to be expected in Paris) but good for a couple. Nice, soft decor in lounge/lobby, very nice breakfast buffet served in a typical upscale Parisian remodeled basement (natural stones and modern touches, very well done). Staff is really good, attentive and responsive, the manager (Marie) is excellent. Location is great, street is closed to traffic so rooms are quiet.

For a 4-star experience, do make sure you book superior remodeled bedrooms (more expensive). The classic double rooms are not necessarily smaller than the superior rooms, however they are old, somewhat tacky in my opinion (banged up furniture and vanities/tubs), very dark, they feel more like a 2-star hotel. I could not recommend these. We first were assigned (and booked) a classic room and were so disappointed that the manager graciously offered to upgrade us to a deluxe room which we loved.

The hotel is beautifully presented, clean, bright & inviting. The staff all speak English & are chatty, polite & helpful. The breakfast provided is very varied & tasty with hot & cold options. The room was lovely & clean with fresh towels, toiletries, robes & slippers provided daily. Even has a spa room with sauna available to use all included in the price. The hotel is perfectly situated with regard to the main Paris attractions & has a variety of shops, restaurants, cafes & bars in close proximity. Paris is a beautiful city & I would definitely use this hotel again. Highly recommend.

Excellent location close to attractions, restaurants and the metro. A comfortable bedroom with a quality mattress, linen and towels. The breakfast ingredients provided a good start to the day with friendly staff ensuring they were well stocked. The room was spotless and we enjoyed the coffee, water and cakes in reception.

Didn't like the bathroom, the sink wasn't suitable for a wet shaver (no plug), the toilet was in a poor position with a poorly placed radiator and the shower provided a weak sprinkle (no pressure). The bath was too high, difficult to climb in and out. For these reasons we would not recommend the Grand Hotel Saint Michel.

Room 503 is the nicest ( 4 star) room i have ever stayed in the 5th Arrond. large for Latin Qaurter and with lovely surrounding panoramic terrace looking directly onto the Sorbonne, Perfectly located near Pantheon, Odeon , St Germain. i booked the room last minute as it was the only balcony room availble in the 5th. it was vert good value for the price . the room is large , very light and very comfortable. The lady at recpetion when i checked in was lovely as was the ( spanish?) lady when i checked out

a few comments which are arent really a big deal. 1)Breakfast was a little underwhelming but still ok , as usual in paris this takes place in a basement 2) they should put a few drtinks in the minbar/fridge in a room of this level - the fridge was empty 3) the reception seemed out of step with the lovely room i had - i think i was told that there was going to be more renovation all in all i had a wonderful stay in a lovely room with lovely staff - i would def stay here again depenadt on gettin g the same room and depenant on price

The location was close to the main attractions but in a quiet area for peaceful rest. The room was of a good size. Comfortable beds. Air conditioning. Excellent breakfast. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant were friendly and helpful. Everyone at the reception spoke English.

It's nothing against the hotel but just a heads-up. You have to pay city tax per person per night at check out. It's not added to the price of the room when you book it. Booking.com warns about it. You just need to read all the billing info.

I traveled with my daughter and granddaughter, the room size worked well for us. Beds were very comfortable, even the pull out, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The best part was the location. Very safe and walkable to many attractions.

The room was a bit dated and could use a refresh, especially the carpet. Getting hot water for a shower was a challenge and once it got hot it didn’t last long. Not sure if that is something fixable but it was frustrating and the reason for only 4 stars.

The hotel location is great as it is at walking distance to some of the key landmarks and attractions and metro stations where you can easily get to your destination. But the highlight is the staff, as their service was simply amazing, especially from Lillian, she was something else! And the breakfast was really good, with different protein and side dish options every day. We will certainly stay there again when we go back to Paris!

The rooms can do better with noise proofing because we could hear everything from the neighbors and the cleaning crew every morning

The spa is interesting! Went with a friend who was also staying in the hotel. The steam room was incredibly hot and the whole place was quite dark and dingy. We were encouraged to lock the door from the inside but I’m not sure that this would have been a good idea in the event of an emergency. It was free to use but I wouldn’t choose the hotel just because it offers a spa. Still really enjoyed our stay.

I found this property to be perfect to get around in Paris. Property is near metro station and near bus stops. Every single staff member at the hotel was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Only issue was the construction across from our room. Crew members would start working at 0600 and it would be extremely loud. I notified the front desk about the construction work and they were able to accommodate us with a different room.
