Breakfast was very well done, more modest than the big spreads we see in large hotels, but everything one could want in a buffet and all of it high quality. There was also the option of ordering eggs however you like them. The buffet offered croissants, pain au chocolat, sliced bread, rolls, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit juices, butter, small individual jars of jam and preserves, honey, teas, lemon, hard-boiled eggs, bowls of tangerines, apples, kiwi, other fruits, dried fruits, a bowl of chopped mixed fruit, hot and cold cereals, milk, cream, Greek yogurt, waffles, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some things - and all of it in a beautiful room with high ceilings, a crystal chandelier, crown molding, elegant fabric wallpaper, huge windows with draperies, tables with tablecloths and fabric napkins. The delicious coffee was served individually - not just in a cup, but in a pot that contained at least two cups. I also loved my room with its windows with a view toward the Seine. I loved the furniture - the French bed with its nice linens, the charming dresser/desk, the bathroom with its long, narrow tub, shower, nice towels, and its charming pink and green handpainted tiles.

Only that I didn't get to stay longer. I loved the place.

Location is grand. 2 minutes from the 2 Magots and 2 from the Seine. Most of the sights can easily be done by foot. The room was exceptionally big for Paris standards. Good breakfast selection with different cheese and charcuterie, breads, fresh fruit, etc. There is a lovely courtyard where you can eat your breakfast or just chill after a busy day in Paris. We stayed here for the second time and were not disappointed. If you are looking for a typical Parisian spot with a lot of charm and creaking floor, this is a good choice.

I did not care much for the carpet in the bedroom - I think the rooms can get quite hot in the summer. There is ventilation but no AC.

The location is perfect if you want to be in the heart of things with great restaurants, cafes and metro connections nearby. It is also an easy walk to Notre Dame Cathedral. The hotel is lovely. The breakfast was very good. The staff are all very nice and helpful. The courtyard, where we ate breakfast every day, was beautiful and cool. We loved our room. Many reviewers have commented negatively on the fact that the hotel does not have air conditioning. I do not think it is a fair criticism since it is not included in the amenities, and you can see that when you book. I did not realize that there was no AC until a few days before our arrival when I looked more closely. It is my own fault for not looking carefully in the first place. I was in Bordeaux where it had been very hot and where the AC at our hotel went out for 2 of the 3 nights we were there. So, I was very concerned about not having AC and I wrote to the hotel (through booking.com) and seriously considered cancelling, even though I would have lost my deposit which was equal to half the cost of my stay. The hotel wrote back very quickly and assured me that they thought I would be ok because my room was in the back and on a lower floor, so not in the hot sun all day. They also told me I would have a fan. I decided to go ahead, and I am very glad I did. While it was warm, the location of the room and the fan made it bearable. At night you could open the large window and get a nice breeze. The one drawback is that the lovely bathroom has a window that does not open so the heat tends to build up in that room from showering, even when not using hot water. Our room was lovely, with a four-poster bed and fireplace. The chairs were somewhat worn and should probably be replaced but that was the only criticism of the decor. All in all, we were very satisfied and had a very nice stay.

Though I don't fault the hotel, I might not stay again during warm weather due to the lack of AC, but they make it as comfortable as is possible.

Beautiful building full of history in one of the most evocative locations in Paris

I was travelling with my daughter and would have liked two beds as we requested rather than one double however if was very comfortable and worked out well

The location of the hotel was excellent, in a very nice neighborhood, central to lots of things but in a relatively quite street so no noise at night. Nice an quirky feel to it with the open courtyard area downstairs, where you can breakfast. Room was of a good size, furnished with a very French feel to it. Nice and quiet with a comfortable bed, although with way too many covers for the summer!

My room had a rather unusual arrangement with regards to the toilet that was a converted cupboard, separate to the bathroom.

Our short stay was a joint belated birthday treat for myself and my aunt and we had the most beautiful time. We arrived on a very rainy Tuesday the staff were so welcoming allowing us to check in a little earlier and relax before exploring nearby. We stayed in Room 14 which had been Ernest Hemingway’s room many moons ago when he resided in this beautiful neighbourhood in Paris. Everything was cosy, beautiful and very charming. We had a cosy dinner in the restaurant opposite on the first night and the second day the sun was out so I got to watch the sunrise on the Pont des Arts which is a less than 5 minute walk away, Paris is always a magical place and staying at the Hotel d’Angleterre with the warmth and hospitable staff made it even moreso. Thank you to Antoine, Giovanna, Laura, Milan and Aumary who all looked after us so kindly. We will be back soon I hope. ✨

Nothing it was a perfect quintessential Parisian break in my favourite neighbourhood.
