The grounds of the hotel were lovely and authentic. We liked the spa. Our junior suite was a good size and well laid out. Location was 15 minutes walk from Tours which was fine for us and also 2 minutes from a tram.

Booking.com and the hotel should be more transparent about the fact that air conditioning is NOT actually available unless it’s the summer months. It was 30 degrees and we asked for air con to be turned on but were lied to initially and told it was us not using the thermostat correctly . When we said it was locked, they admitted that we couldn’t have it until summer even though we couldn’t sleep. A lesson in hospitality and making guests welcome and comfortable, wouldn’t go a miss. No robes, slippers, body lotions. Restaurant and food mediocre.

Absolutely beautiful hotel and location, felt really special to stay here for a couple of nights. Room was lovely, very comfortable and the window shutters made the room extra dark for a good night's sleep! Delicious breakfast too with a good selection of hot and cold food. Staff very helpful, nothing too much. Free car parking was great, but this does seem to get busy, thankfully we found somewhere. Lovely location, a pretty 30 mins walk into Tours, very good for exploring:-)

(if you go for a run like we did, beware of the hill on the way back haha!)

The hotel is in beautiful grounds, about 30 minutes walk from the centre of Tours with an option to take a tram nearby. Great location to combine peaceful relaxation and a city centre attractions. The room was large. Pool and spa were good.

No lobby in the new wing, so it was noisy outside the bedroom if near the entrance as we were. TV off line for 24 hours. Arrangements for car entry and exit to hotel not clear. Mix up with our deposit. Staff seem overstretched with events at hotel but were nice when asked for help.

The breakfast had a nice variety of food & we enjoyed the cappuccino/espresso machine. Five of our seven rooms were beautiful & large. Some had balconies, others had claw foot tubs. The walk to town took about 30 minutes & was very scenic. We also had a dinner one of the evenings & it was fantastic. The beds were very comfortable & the shower pressure was good & hot!

The breakfast was great except for the scrambled eggs, they were very soupy & the bacon was undercooked. We were not told that two of our rooms were on the 3rd floor & were more like attic rooms with sloped ceilings with a step down into a tiny bathroom. I would suggest more water available for the guests in the public area, It was mostly empty when needed.

It is a pretty property and our suite had a lovely view of the garden.

1. Check in is at 4pm which is already quite late. So to not have our room available until 4.20pm was annoying. 2. There are no porters or any offers of assistance with luggage. 3. Asked for a drink in the garden terrace and was told we couldn’t order drinks there despite other guests having drinks there 4. The most uncomfortable pillows I’ve ever encountered 5. Garage was closed when we went to leave creating confusion and stress.

Very nice room, we received an upgrade

On the morning we left I went for a swim and put the do not disturb hanger on the door. When I got back at 11.20 (check out was 12.00) the chambermaid was already preparing the room for the next guests. She didn't leave and had piled the dirty dishes in the basin, even though there was a sink in the kitchenette . The door to my room was wedged open, with my handbag in view of the corridor. I told reception when I checked out, but they didn't seem interested

A very Large room with double bed, I paid slightly more for a lovely room. It was so comfortable and had everything I would expect from a hotel of this type. If you like walking, it was pleasant to walk into Tours Center, get a cab if you dont like walking. This is not on the Loire valley for nothing, uphill on the way back. Car parking was excellent. Nice pool and a sauna for chilling out. Would stay again.

One point.... I just expected a better shower, wanted more power, but that's just me!

The hotel property is surrounded by nice garden, the old building is nice (the chateau)

It's not a chateau it's a small old building(the chateau) with a new large building which is the hotel, with basic new rooms, not too many amenities and a very large elderly house, all in the same compound, so if you looking to feel the atmosphere of living in a chateau, this isn't the place for you.

We stayed in the modern part of the hotel. The staff were excellent, even helping with our halting French. The room was big, clean and well appointed. Belmont Chateaux is well placed for visiting Tours as the tram station is an easy walk away, but we did the 15/20 minute walk into the town without problem.

The spa facilities could have been larger, which may be problem if it's busy, and they'd forgotten to put robes in our room. None of which caused any issues for us.

The room was more like a suite and very comfortable and stylishly decorated - it felt like a really premium experience. The grounds are stunning and well worth a walk around. The restaurant was nice - the food was good on the whole adn parking is plentiful and very convenient. The location was perfect for us as we were stopping over on a long drive further south but it feels a bit far away from the centre of Tours if you are planning on spending some time there

The food in the restaurant was good but felt a little pricey - also we were given a table outside in direct sunlight and despite the restaurant terrace being empty, when I asked to move into the shade, I was told that we could not move as the other tables were reserved - there were no other diners came into the restaurant in all the time we were in there so this felt a little lazy - like it was too much hassle to move us - it rather spoilt the enjoyment of the meal
