Our absolute favorite place to stay when in Tours. The host, Alexandra, is delightful. The accommodations are perfect and so comfortable: great bed, wonderful shower, lots of light and very quiet, even with the windows open that look out on the beautiful courtyard. Oh, and the home made breakfast with fresh croissants, fruit and made-to-order eggs is a perfect start for the day ahead. This beautiful B&B is a 5 minute walk from the train station and located on a quiet street, with many wonderful restaurants and shops just a delightful short walk from La Maison Jules. Oh, and as a side note, if you're interested in renting bicycles, mopeds, Motorcycles or Can-AM trikes while in Tours, check out "Ride-in-Tours.com" and tell Laurent and Rodolphe that Jeff sent you!

My husband and I loved staying at La Maison Jules. It's a beautiful old estate home in the heart of Tours. We arrived early and Alexandra greeted us at the door and we visited for a bit before leaving our luggage and going out to explore the town. The restaurants and shops are all within a 5-15 minute walk. Alexandra recommended modest and delicious French restaurants for lunch and dinner. La Maison Jules is beautifully furnished and, without being fussy, there is a lot of attention to detail in the beautiful wallpaper, drapes, linens, comfortable furniture, and overall ambiance. Our bedroom overlooking the garden/courtyard was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a large window overlooking the property and included every modern amenity. Everything was sparkling clean. I wish we could have stayed longer and I would have enjoyed getting to know Alexandra better. She was a generous and thoughtful hostess who cares very much about providing hospitality for her guests. Although there is typically a breakfast included, we couldn't enjoy it because we had to leave at 6am. Instead Alexandra provided us fresh croissants, yogurt, and coffee. We were sorry to leave and hope to return.

It is an old estate home and there are stairs, no elevator, which was perfectly fine for us but some people might have difficulty.

Fabulous guest house easy walking distance from the heart of Tours. The accommodations are beautiful. Our bedroom and bathroom were huge, and the place has been lovingly restored by the owner who kept the character of the home and decorated it beautifully while incorporating modern touches, including fabulous modern bathrooms. Breakfast was good (croissants, bread, fruit, and eggs) and we felt very welcome. Alex even helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations which was very kind. We will go back again.

La Maison Jules is a beautiful 19th c. that is meticulously updated. The bed and bathrooms are chic, expansive and the bed extremely comfortable. The best was the homeowner, Alex. She is friendly, easy to talk to, kind, thoughtful and totally accommodating. Our breakfast was made special being in conversation with Alex. She made me want to visit Tours just so our paths would cross again.

It’s a tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean apartment. Centrally located and a short walk to the old town. The place has everything you need and it’s very clean and maintained to the highest standard! The host is amazing and friendly! She made us feel very welcome and even helped us to book a restaurant with excellent food. Breakfast was home cooked and it’s so good! The scrambled eggs and croissants are amazing!!! Love it and will definitely be back here! Highly recommended!

Alex is a wonderful host. Her house is very tastefully decorated and our room was spacious and comfortable. We had a bath in our room which was perfect after a long day sightseeing. Alex was extremely helpful with suggestions &, bookings of dinners. Location is great, easy walk to restaurants and train station. Would highly recommend.

La Maison Jules was a lovely B&B close to the train station on a quiet street. Also close to the cathedral and the Musée des Beaux Arts. Alexandra was so helpful. Her made to order breakfasts were fabulous. Some of the other (French) guests and Alaxandra even helped me with my bad French!!! The decor is eclectic with an excellent private bathroom. I loved my stay there as well as Tours. I’d definitely stay here again.

Being at La Maison Jules felt like being at a (grander) version of home, as Alex was so welcoming and accommodating. The location is fantastic - minutes from the cathedral and Hotel de Ville, as well as restaurants. However, behind the tall doors, an oasis, with harmoniously decorated interiors and a lovely terrace available for guest use with a view over the garden. The bedroom was comfortable, with everything we needed, including an amazing shower. Breakfast was perfect, with delicious croissants and breads and the option of eggs. All in all, a super stay, ideal for a time in Tours.

La Maison Jules is a lovely old house that has been very tastefully refurbished. It is very elegant with lovely spacious rooms, very centrally located in Tours.

While not a detraction, because it is an older building, there is no lift, so my husband had to carry our heavy bags up the stairs.

Beautiful house in the centre of Tours. Super quiet, very comfortable bed with huge bathroom. Charming, very friendly host who we could have chatted with all night! Delicious simple breakfast, parking outside, 5 minute walk to a huge choice of restaurants and the delightful river, will definitely be back for another visit!
