15 minutes walk at most from Tours station, Hotel Colbert is in a great area. Rue Colbert has so many eating options from cheap and cheerful to more classically French but affordable. About 10 minutes walk to the old town and other sights. The cathedral is closer and worth some time. Walk the short distance to the river - autumn and spring would be beautiful. Our room was huge for 2 people - not complaining - and several floors up, with a beautiful view across the rooftops. Delightful and romantic. Decorated in a fairly basic, modern fashion but very clean and comfortable. The hotel does not have a lift, but the stairs are wide. And the proprietor is happy to help. We didn't have breakfast here, but we did hear other guests commenting the breakfast was fine. A good base to explore Tours and its sights, and on the train or bikes along the Loire for chateaux and wineries.

Perhaps a small fridge to allow guests to bring in a few essentials. Tea and coffee were available in the room but nowhere to store milk or a few snacks.

A great find -good location on main street close to wide choice of restaurants and bars. We had a comfort room -good size, very clean and modern shower room. It was at the rear and quiet overlooking garden. Breakfast was good value. The host -Olivier -was excellent. He could not have been more helpful-re car parking options, restaurants , what to see in the area. It might be a 2* -although the accommodation is better than you’d expect - but the service is definitely 5 *

We were lucky with the main car park but there are other options that are a bit more expensive. City centre parking anywhere is tricky. We loved being at the top but if you don’t like stairs request a lower floor-you will be offered help with your bags

We had a very nice stay in Tours and it's a great location to stay at to visit castles in the surrounding countryside. The Hotel Colbert provides a good value for money and it's in a great location in Tours. The owner of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the hotel to those planning a trip to Tours. If I were to return for another trip to the City I'd stay at the Hotel Colbert again.

The location is perfect in the old town with lots of little restaurants in rue Colbert and close to the Loire, the cathedral and the museum des beaux arts. The owner is very kind and helpful. Very nice rooms with a quiet atmosphere.

There is no elevator, but for us this was no problem.

Very nice and cosy windows view! Really quiet room. A lot of information for tourist. Absolutely in center. Very easy parkering place and free at night.

In hotel description I don't understand that haven't elevator. My husband saw photo in booking.com with a private garden, which was inside, but door was closed. I was missing refrigerator in room, but we was manage, not so big deals.

The breakfast was great, with the freshest croissants and with really nice personal service from the owner, who was very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable and the hotel is in a great central location

The place is in a really center street with a lot of nice places to eat. The man at the front desk is very very nice. The place is clean, the service staff is really gentle. The room was clean and big, with a good taste in the colours.

Our room was on the third floor without an elevator (but the front desk man kindly proposed to help us with the luggage).

Friendly welcome. We really appreciated the advice in advance regarding parking options nearby. Great location on street with many restaurants and in walking distance of all main attractions. Great recommendations on where to eat from the owner. It was a flying visit to Tours for us en route to Calais, but we definitely will visit again and stay at Hotel Colbert

The only possible downside for some is that there is no lift, but staff offer to help with luggage. It wasn't an issue for us.

Much nicer than our expectations. In fact we thought it was more 3star than 2. The room was big, comfortable, quiet and tastefully furnished and we had a warm welcome at the reception. Great location for a good variety of restaurants and for visiting the cathedral.

We were very lucky to find a nearby free parking space, even though we arrived on Saturday evening. I dont think it could be guaranteed.

Fabulous location in the centre of Tours, exceptionally clean and the best hotel mattress we've slept on in a long time, we were greeted with the warmest welcome from the owner which was appreciated after a long day travelling. A great little find in Tours which we highly recommend.
