Superb location overall. Very quiet. Fantastic and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast options. Great bathroom. Great (and quiet) AC. Basic shopping within 2' from front door (Carrefour Express West on Rue Colbert). Great laundry within 3' from front door (East on Rue Colbert). Plenty of restaurants (French gourmet/traditional/crepes, Indian, Lebanese, Syrian, Italian, Tapas) on Rue Colbert and around

A mini-fridge would be great. No in-room coffee machine (this was a listing error that they submitted for correction). No elevator (but the staff will help with luggage). The breakfast area can get a bit busy at peak time.

I was thrilled to have found this characterful place at short notice. The room rate for the attic room, for one person, was a real reduction. It is nice when travelling alone not to have to pay for a double room. Although the room was up 3 flights of stairs, my luggage was taken up for me, so it wasn't a problem. I loved the view of the rooves from my attic window, and I love the green everywhere!

The reason I have not scored the bed comfort well is that I think the sheets were a bit itchy. I wonder if you are using an organic laundry detergent, because some of the harsher ones do cause this itching. It did make it difficult to fall asleep, but it is possible it was just me feeling itchy! There should be a tap that guests can fill water bottles from. And it would be good if you had some long-life oat milk in stock. I am just someone who prefers oat milk, but to learn that you had no dairy alternative at all was surprising, since so many people are dairy intolerant or vegan.

I really loved my stay at Hotel du Cygne, I loved the style and eclectic decoration of this 19th century building, the wooden staircase and the overall feel. The bedding was amazing and very comfortable and all the facilities are very good, from soap to high pressure warm water in the top floor shower. Highly recommended, I wished I was staying a bit longer: I love also that it is a dog friendly hotel that remains spotless. The hosts were knowledgable and helpful. Everything is within walking distance and Tours is such a beautiful city. Great restaurants, ice cream, bars a vins and coffee shops nearby. It’s a real hidden gem and I wish them the success they deserve ❤️

Very colourful hotel with an eclectic mix of fixtures and furnishings. Lovely atmosphere and very comfortable room. Bed linen crisp and fresh, very inviting. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment. Fantastic location for restaurants, bars and sightseeing. Stairs were not a problem for us. Highly recommend.

Only one very small quibble. I would not have expected a hotel of this calibre to only provide paper cups for use with the tea/coffee making facilities. Just about ok in the bathroom but no-one wants to drink their first beverage of the day out of paper! Also not environmentally friendly. 18 rooms, 4 paper cups daily per room. Massive wastage. Host gave us actual cups upon request.

Lovely slightly quirky hotel ,great entrance hall as you come in , huge bedroom and bathroom ,lovely breakfast room and great breakfast. The guys that run it are really nice . Great location to just wander out and quick to get to nice places to eat and interesting sights ,loved the cathedral and the old timber framed buildings

I wasn't keen on paper cups in our room to make a hot drink .they didn't get replaced on our second night either ,I don't mind a paper cup for teeth brushing but not for hot drink in a hotel . Also seemed a big too frugle on what was supplied in room .some bottled water would have been nice

Central location.Quirky decoration. Clean room. Very welcoming staff. Took time to help us with parking and pointing out the important things to visit. Great continental breakfast. Large room but it was for 4 people and there was only 2 of us, but it was the only room left when booking.

No lift, but we were made aware of this. It wasn't too bad for us as we were on the 1st floor. Paper cups for the hot drinks in the room. We went out and bought two mugs!

Lots of character in this boutique hotel, reflecting the eclectic tastes of the owners, who were charming and accommodating. Room was clean, well air conditioned, characterful, the bed comfortable, the shower room large, finished to high quality, clean and with own, frosted glass, window. Shower flow good. Room safe available, but no small refrigerator. Breakfasts generous and good quality, served in lovely surroundings, with a terrace option.

Not a problem for us, but, as the hotel states in its write up, this is an old building with no lift-though the highest floor is the third-so not too far. Other than that, no reservations in recommending highly.

This is the place to be, when you are in Tours. The hotel is stylish & charming, located in an area surrounded by little restaurants from all over the world. A five stars gelateria is just arround the corner. Although the area is busy at night, the hotel is very quiet. The breakfast involves everything you can think of & is prepared with details & care. The hosts are very kind.

The mistake was, to stay only for one night as we were on our journey to Spain.

Lovely room (with great air conditioning) and a really quirky hotel, with a very welcoming vibe all round. Its location is ideal, literally round the corner from a street full of bars and restaurants, and within a stone's throw of both the cathedral and the river. Owners were lovely and very helpful.

Literally the only slight limitation was the lack of any vegan offerings for breakfast - even some non-dairy milk would have made it an option, but as it was we had to make other arrangements.

We loved this hotel. The color schemes, decor and layout were just our style. The resident kitty is also such a sweet touch. Coucou, Prada! Our room was spacious, clean and had plenty of space for arranging our belongings. The air conditioning was glorious after numerous hot days of sightseeing and stuffy buses and trains. The location was great - a few steps of off Rue Colbert with its restaurants, bars and shops and within walking distance to the historical sites. We had brought some take-out back with us for dinner and there was easy access to silverware, cups and such so we could eat in the courtyard without having to bother anybody to make it work. We slept really well. The windows were insulated to keep out the noise of the street and the blackout curtains made it a pleasantly dark, cozy nest. We will definitely stay here again if we get the chance to visit Tours in the future.

I can't help much here because there isn't anything I didn't like. You do have to take the stairs up to the rooms but the staff will help you with your bags and they're wide stairs for being a spiral staircase so that wasn't a problem for us. They do make the stairs abundantly clear on the listing so those with mobility issues can be fairly advised. We'd 100% stay here again.
