Lovely slightly quirky hotel ,great entrance hall as you come in , huge bedroom and bathroom ,lovely breakfast room and great breakfast. The guys that run it are really nice . Great location to just wander out and quick to get to nice places to eat and interesting sights ,loved the cathedral and the old timber framed buildings

I wasn't keen on paper cups in our room to make a hot drink .they didn't get replaced on our second night either ,I don't mind a paper cup for teeth brushing but not for hot drink in a hotel . Also seemed a big too frugle on what was supplied in room .some bottled water would have been nice

Lots of character in this boutique hotel, reflecting the eclectic tastes of the owners, who were charming and accommodating. Room was clean, well air conditioned, characterful, the bed comfortable, the shower room large, finished to high quality, clean and with own, frosted glass, window. Shower flow good. Room safe available, but no small refrigerator. Breakfasts generous and good quality, served in lovely surroundings, with a terrace option.

Not a problem for us, but, as the hotel states in its write up, this is an old building with no lift-though the highest floor is the third-so not too far. Other than that, no reservations in recommending highly.

Lovely room (with great air conditioning) and a really quirky hotel, with a very welcoming vibe all round. Its location is ideal, literally round the corner from a street full of bars and restaurants, and within a stone's throw of both the cathedral and the river. Owners were lovely and very helpful.

Literally the only slight limitation was the lack of any vegan offerings for breakfast - even some non-dairy milk would have made it an option, but as it was we had to make other arrangements.

We loved this hotel. The color schemes, decor and layout were just our style. The resident kitty is also such a sweet touch. Coucou, Prada! Our room was spacious, clean and had plenty of space for arranging our belongings. The air conditioning was glorious after numerous hot days of sightseeing and stuffy buses and trains. The location was great - a few steps of off Rue Colbert with its restaurants, bars and shops and within walking distance to the historical sites. We had brought some take-out back with us for dinner and there was easy access to silverware, cups and such so we could eat in the courtyard without having to bother anybody to make it work. We slept really well. The windows were insulated to keep out the noise of the street and the blackout curtains made it a pleasantly dark, cozy nest. We will definitely stay here again if we get the chance to visit Tours in the future.

I can't help much here because there isn't anything I didn't like. You do have to take the stairs up to the rooms but the staff will help you with your bags and they're wide stairs for being a spiral staircase so that wasn't a problem for us. They do make the stairs abundantly clear on the listing so those with mobility issues can be fairly advised. We'd 100% stay here again.

Everything! The proprietors were charming, the hotel decor tasteful, and the location was on point. You are steps away from a street with a multitude of restaurant options offering outside seating, a grocery store and Laundromat. The hotel can easily be reached from the train station on foot. I wholeheartedly recommend making the Hotel du Cygne your primary location, and opt to easily day trip to the neighboring Chateaux by train. They also welcome dogs.

Warm welcoming hosts, excellent renovation of super old building - they are clearly proud of their work and the (small) set up. Lovely vintage crockery at breakfast , and super quality items - Mariage frères teas, and Angel cake ! And - don’t worry about the stairs - hosts carry your luggage and the water pressure in the shower was great !!

Nothing ! Even climbing the stairs ! Travelling solo female I would have preferred a little honesty bar or limited apéro offering. You can bring in any purchases. (There are plenty of cafes and bars within yards) but after a day travelling a glass of local wine in the lovely courtyard would have been better.

Its position was right in the middle of a street that had over 100 bars and restaurants the manager at the desk gave us some excellent advice on a restaurant which was awesome so thank you very . The hotel was very querky and Uber cool decor. The service and the breakfast was excellent certainly the whole experience was a 11/10

Nothing people might say the stairs but that just added to the character and charm

Ideally situated in the middle of Tours, the Hotel du Cygne is a really charming hotel. The owners were friendly and helpful, recommending a number of restaurants and sights upon our arrival. Our room was decorated stylishly, with an extremely large bed and a big bathroom (including a fantastic shower!). The breakfast featured an extremely wide selection to choose from, including fruit, pastries, yoghurt, coffee - more than worth the small additional cost. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Hotel du Cygne for anyone looking for a break in Tours!

An old hotel with stairs that creak in a good location next to the old town entertainment strip and easy walking to the river. Staff is helpful and volunteers to carry luggage to room in lieu of actual elevator. Had a generous morning breakfast that set us up nicely for the day.

no elevator and not 24hr open front door, so call ahead if arriving late. Streets are narrow so passenger dropoff/pickup can be a problem and limited street parking may require use of nearby multistory park.

The interior is charmant - paintings, books, great colour scheme throughout. Smells delicious. Good breakfast for a very reasonable price. Great location, everything within walking distance e g la Gare, the fabulous cathedral.

Thé 66 steps to the third floor! But we had been warned there was no lift and the owners were helpful with suitcases. But lovely view from the windows.
