The Communal Sololaki is absolutely wonderful! Tucked away on a quiet street in Sololaki, but within 20 minutes walk of the main parts of Tbilisi, the hotel is perfectly situated. We booked the Apartment (suite with kitchenette) which was lovely. The room is a great size with lots of light. It is really nicely furnished and was very comfortable. The daily breakfast is delicious and serves as a perfect induction into Georgian food. The staff are all lovely and are very keen to help where they can. All in all a faultless stay.

If I were to nit pick, I would love it if a small bowl of labneh and adjika could be included in the small bowls on the mezze platters at breakfast. I missed those when the breakfast service switched to mezze.

The hotel is located in a quiet and very nice neighbourhood - within easy walking distance of the centre of town, but tucked out of the hustle and bustle which meant it was lovely and quiet, and there was easily accessible on street parking. The staff were also fantastically helpful. George collected us from the airport and silly-o-clock and chatted with us all the way to the hotel. His english is excellent and he was full of ideas for places to eat and things to do. He also pointed out all the landmarks we passed and introduced us to a very good Georgian pop band. We were able to check in early, and overall felt very well looked after here. Breakfast was also great - with a huge spread, and the offer of eggs as well.

I don't have any negatives for this stay. I'd 100% stay here again in Tbilisi.

The property, situated in a really pretty neighborhood, is nice and unassuming. We didn't realize it was self check in, and once we got past that, everything was smooth. The decor, starting with the big blue entrance door is very elegant. It's a small property, so rooms are smaller than one can expect, but overall it's gives you the feel of a homestay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not elaborate, but there are enough choices. Bonus points for using refillable glass water bottles.

We stayed in two different room, and I didnt quite like the decor of one of the rooms - with it's red drapes, but that's a personal opionion. The rooms could be bigger as well.

Our room was tidied up daily, and the person assisting us was extremely polite and attentive. We are incredibly grateful for the warm hospitality and exceptional service. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like.

My room was spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Location is great, close to all main tourist attractions. Giorgi, who took care of my check-in, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Breakfast is only served 09:00-11:00 in the morning, that's ridiculous. What's more: it's served in such a small cubbyhole that only about 6 people fit together around the communal table at any given time. This creates a situation where some of the guests are requested to show up for breakfast at 10:00 am. Accordingly, I would definitely not reccommend this hotel for early risers and/or business travelers. For such a small boutique hotel, I was surprised that it accepts young children. The hotel is not accessible. People with mobility issues should look for another place to stay.

We stayed at the Communal Hotel Sololaki in Tbilisi last December, and I can't recommend it enough! This boutique hotel is truly a hidden gem. Its location is perfect—nestled in a safe, charming neighborhood just a 10-minute walk from the city center, yet surrounded by cozy cafés and delightful restaurants. Every detail in the rooms and throughout the hotel is thoughtfully curated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Christmas decorations added an extra touch of magic, making our stay even more special. The hospitality was outstanding, with George at the reception going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. He was incredibly kind and professional, making us feel right at home. The breakfast was another highlight—beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. It felt like a home-cooked meal, yet with the elegance and care of a high-end hotel. A special thank you to the lovely lady who prepared it (apologies for not remembering her name). Without a doubt, I would highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here again on our next visit to Tbilisi!

Absolutely nothing

Location, design and atmosphere of the building is very nice, I also really liked the terrace and the Mountain View. Reception manager was helpful and friendly and reacted promptly to my feedback and comments during the stay.

It is an old building, so be prepared to experience quite low sound isolation, guests hear each other passing by in the halls. The hotel mindfully provides ear plugs to all guests, which is a plus, but I am a light sleeper and I really wasn’t ready for this. The room was cleaned every day, but the standard of the cleaning could be higher - some dust was left behind and the carpets needed vacuuming more thoroughly.

We experienced an authentic Georgian stay with hotel-like facilities. Communal has turned this old house into a hotel and has done an excellent job of mixing hospitality with culture. Our property manager/chef was George and we had a great time learning a lot of Georgian history and local knowledge from him over the breakfast table! Amazing clean rooms, great authentic breakfast, fantastic communal spaces to spend lazy afternoons and the local feline visitors to keep you company if you want to spend time with them!

Cannot point out anything that we really didn't like. Its an amazing property and a great break from the standardized hotel chain experience.

The staff were so friendly & helpful. It’s an amazing location - easy to walk to great restaurants and bars but away from the really touristy zone so also peaceful. The rooms are amazing & bed really comfortable!

If you are planning on arriving very early (our flight landed at 5:30am) just be aware the hotel has no communal area to rest in or a toilet to use if your room isn’t available. Also the luggage storage is just under the stairs being watched by hotel staff so not secure if you are leaving later than the staff remain at the reception.

Fantastic breakfast; the self check-in worked flawlessly, even jetlagged at 5 a.m. Staff was appropriately friendly. Location was excellent. Nice, modern bathroom, and overall I like the design and decoration of the property.

The bathroom is very nice, as mentioned above, but there isn't really a space to store toiletries. I started with the shelf below the bathroom sink but the sink leaked onto it. The bathroom could also use one bright light for applying makeup or shaving. The mattress is VERY hard -- it feels like a futon mattress. Also, there is a surprising amount of noise conveyed room to room. Other guests were NOT being loud or behaving badly, but a normal-volume conversation held in the adjoining room kept me awake one night, and I also, at one point, got up and turned on the light because it sounded like there was another person in my room, walking around, though of course that was not the case.
