My room was beautifully decorated and spacious. The bathroom was good and the shower was nice and hot with good pressure. The location is a bit out of centre, but right next to trams and S-bahn. There are cafes, restaurants and an organic supermarket nearby. There's not much open late at night though. You're also right next to the wall memorial which can make an interesting walk up to catch the U-Bahn at Bernauer Str. It was really quiet, I didn't hear other guests at all. There is some traffic noise outside but the soundproofing is very good and the window blocks the noise out very well. It can get a bit warm though so in summer you probably would want the window open for some of the time. I appreciated water and coffee being provided at reception. The garden was lovely and it was nice to meet the cat.
Only a small single duvet because I was staying alone in the room.

The garden is a great asset - a green oasis with cheerful birds and a friendly resident ginger tomcat. The loudest noise was from the birds - no sound of traffic etc.My studio with windows on to the garden was actually a substantial open-plan apartment with a bedroom-sitting room, dining room-work room, and kitchenette with two induction hobs and a microwave and toaster. Furnishing is early C20 style, carved dark wood etc., and reproduction oil paintings, but I found that quite a pleasant change after too much pseudo-Scandi in most apartment hotel accommodation. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - an especial shout-out for Tami, who let me know in advance what to do if I arrived after reception closed (it's not 24-hour) and who provided some bowls and extra washing-up liquid when I asked. The location is not one of Berlin's most characterful districts because it was right up against the Wall till the Wende in 1989-1991, but it is historically interesting (there is a Berlin Wall memorial museum five minutes away, and the Brecht and Helene Weigel museum is very close). You can get to Sofienstr/Tucholskystr with bakeries and plenty of cafés in about 20 minutes on foot and there is a small market outside Nordbahnhof some evenints. Nordbahnhof also has S-Bahn lines and is just a couple of minutes away. The U-Bahn is a bit further in the other direction. All in all, it is convenient, comfortable, and a much nicer option than the chain hotels which are mainly the accommodation landscape round here.
The breakfast is quite costly by German standards if not included in the room rate, especially as they kindly provide free coffee and tea in the lobby. However, I only had it the first day because all the food shops in the area were closed (I know this is standard in Germany generally, but was a bit surprised how widespread it is in Berlin - like London 50 years ago). The kitchen is quite well-equipped for cooking, but doesn't have a washing machine or washing-up machine, which are standard issue in some aparthotels (but if you needed clothes washed, I'm sure they would try and help; they will do the dishes for a fee).

The stunning and classical decor and paintings of historical figures all throughout the hotel, the extremely comfy bed and spacious room, the amiable and kind staff, the garden view of the property from my room, the central and convenient location of the hotel (you are about a 3 minute walk away from the naturkundemuseum station on the u6 line), the adorable little hotel cat called Maxi, the bathroom’s chic and modern appearance and facilities.
The only things I had a little bit of an issue with was the fact that I was staying on the third floor and the hotel has no lift, so when I was leaving to get my flight home I had to carry my case down two flights of stairs and also that there was no free complimentary bottled water in my room and no dressing gown/robe.

We had an apartment in the hotel which was beautiful and well equipt. It was very spaceous and we loved the views. The location was good, staff friendly, and we hired bikes which we could store in the grounds overnight to get around the city. We could opt to have the hotel breakfast or make our own. The garden was really lovely and relaxing.
The hotel breakfast was fine, but we ended up making our own in our kitchen. The apartment is up a lot of stairs which was tiring after a long day, but probably good for my fitness. There's no lift.

An absolutely lovely place! The room was not too big, but had a large bathroom. We enjoyed the interior design, the mirrors and the green garden views. The location was perfect for us to explore Berlin! The staff were friendly and professional!
Unfortunately, the breakfast was disappointing. I almost ate an expired butter. The food was cold and low quality to me. It’s a shame taking into account they have a nice garden for it!

Amazing staff and beautiful place. The garden is so lovely and nice to sit at. There is always coffee, tea and water downstairs. The room was big and the heaters really warmed up the room. Definitely would recommend this hotel.
The location is pretty good but if you want more fun night life by you this isn’t really the area. But it’s a clean nice area with good food and coffee shops, and with the tram near by everything is close.

Hotel has a beautiful garden, you can eat your breakfast there or just enjoy it anytime. They have a really cute cat, Maxi, living in the hotel also ❤️. The hotel staff was wonderful, really helpful and warm and made you feel very welcome. Room was clean and spacious. The location of the hotel was excellent, good public transportation connections all over the city. We would definitely come back when visiting Berlin again.
Nothing to complain.

The garden was a little haven of peace after a busy day touristing. The room we had was beautifully decorated the bed was very comfortable and the kitchenette and bathroom were clean and functional. Breakfast was a feast of delicious food with great variety and all very fresh. The staff were lovely and very helpful. With our daughter now living so close by it is good to know we have a lovely place to stay when we visit her next time (soon). And Maxi (the boss!) who welcomed us on arrival was a lovely highlight to the whole stay. See you all again soon.
The internal stairs up to A1 were very steep and quite shallow though not as bad as the last couple of steps at the bottom into the garden, a more accessible handrail would be of benefit here. The sparrows in the ivy were extremely loud. We did have the windows open due to the heat so we could hear the birds and they are definitely better than traffic noise, I'll just bring ear plugs next time. The room could also benefit from a chest of drawers and a dressing table and maybe a hook or 2 in the bathroom.

Beautiful hotel. Nice amenities. Staff were very helpful. But the booking. Com website said this place has an elevator. It does not. booking also said it was close to the Christmas markets. It was not. Everything about the hotel is great but booking got their information wrong.
There was no elevator which made it very difficult for me to get up and down the stairs

Garden Boutique Hotel was an oasis to come home to after a busy day seeing the sights. The garden was a beautiful place to sit and relax. I also loved the location being close to Nordbahnhof linking you to all parts of the city. It was also so good for a solo traveller to have such helpful staff advising you on any question you might have. I will definitely return
