The staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. We particularly appreciated the opportunity to use the pool and spa facilities after checkout time as it was a hot and sticky day in Berlin and it was a relief to shower before heading to the airport. Everything else worked well - comfortable bed, nice bathroom, aircon, wifi etc. Very convenient for Kudamm and Zoological Gardens station.

The only downside was that we had to reach the pool and spa facilities by going up to the 6th floor and back down to the basement, which seemed a bit odd as our room on the 2nd floor. However it was a very minor inconvenience. Breakfast was also a bit expensive at 32 euros/head, but it was excellent.

The pool, spa and sauna are excellent. I love the old-school look. The location is also excellent. I stayed for two weeks and was given a room upgrade for my entire stay. This made the hotel very good value. I appreciated the mini fridge and coffee machine, with coffee pods that were replenished daily.

My room was overly warm (for me), even when the heating was turned off (but the windows do open). The cleaning service starts early from the perspective of someone on holiday (8.15am) so it is a little noisy even with the “Do Not Disturb” sign on. These are, however, minor things and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Berlin.

The location was excellent! As it turned out many metro lines did not reach the nearby Uhlandstr. station, but the hotel was very close to the Zoologischer Garten station (8-9 minutes), so this was not a problem. The breakfast was versatile, fresh, and delicious. I didn't like the sweet cookies that much, but there was a great selection. The cleanliness of the room was okay, but I wouldn't say it was ideal. They ask for a deposit of 100 euros on the first day. When I was researching the opinions, someone wrote that the hotel doesn't return it at the end. That's not true! We took coffee and water from the hotel bar, about 20 euros, and they returned the rest of the money to us in cash including every cent. There is a coffee machine in the room!

I booked a double room with a qween bed, they gave us a room with separate beds, they just connected them. I asked to change in the morning, they accepted, but it would have been better to be careful from the beginning Considering that the hotel is large, there should be free rooms, it would be better to have early check-in.

Excellent breakfast, very nice restaurant, fully refurbished lobby bar, very good location for shopping and nightlife, rooms brand new, some of them have good view, those towards the back not so good.

Some areas have not been refurbished, very old looking pool area, very old fitness. Some interior decoration from the 90's (green tiles on the floor), but the most striking is complete lack of any form of decoration, no flowers, no nice art on the walls, some 100EUR discounted ugly watches in nice cabinets, it is very low class and cheap looking.

Atmosphere, location, restaurant, breakfast all were excellent. Front desk very helpful and also the bar personnel. Also there is something very old school (in a positive way) and sofisticated at the same time in this hotel.

It was over 30 degrees for the whole time during our stay so air con was given a challenge, which it didn’t quite manage. Our room was the hottest place in the hotel in comparison to the corridor, lobby, bar etc. Air con needs a serious upgrade. Also pool area was a minor disappointment(very nice in general but a minor disappointment): smell of the sewers welcomes you when exiting the elevator. Saunas available only in the evening and some amenities were out of order.

This hotel met my expectations. As I was attending a conference nearby, it was in a good location and connected to the metro line so I was able to get around easily, both to the conference and to the centre for some exploring. It was one of the few hotels with 24-hour check-in. The pool was an added asset. The staff were all really kind and friendly. The breakfast was of a really good quality and had a lot of variety. Breakfast was also available over a long period of time, so I did not need to go down really early. Housekeeping was very discrete. The room service was great as well.

The WiFi was absolutely terrible. I would have appreciated some hair conditioner in the bathroom, as there was only a shampoo/shower gel dispenser. The pool was quite small and a strange oval shape, so if there was more than one person in the pool, it was quite awkward to swim around. If the pool was rectangular then at least people could do lengths without getting in the way of each other. I was looking forward to using the sauna, but it is the first place I have ever been which is mixed gender and actively *forbids* wearing any kind of clothing, including towels?! As a young woman on my own in the hotel, I did not feel comfortable to use this facility, especially since there was no member of staff around when I went there.

I liked that the property was air conditioned, the room had a decent view, the lobby was pretty and the staff where helpful with inquiries I had. I enjoyed the swimming pool and did use it. The bar served a variety of drinks and was pretty comfortable.

I had to leave a deposit in the reception on the first day, and on the last day, I was told it would take a week for the deposit to come back to my account. £126 is a lot of money for some people. I feel a warning about this deposit should have been more prominent when I booked the hotel.

Excellent location! Very close to public transport, shops, eateries etc. Hotel staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel was nice and warm as the outside temperatures were very cold. Our room was small but comfortable and had everything we needed. Robes and slippers were provided.

Our room was noisy due to being near the lift but also because we had an interconnecting room and we could hear our neighbours very clearly. Even when they took a shower, if sounded like they were in our shower!

We really enjoyed our stay in the recently refurbished rooms which are very good size and high-quality however they hadn’t installed telephone so we could not phone the reception to ask any questions but the room size and the bathroom was excellent. The pool sauna and steam room area were very good however the pool was a little on the cold side for family swimming and somewhat outdated but this may be recently to be refurbished

No telephone in the room.

Nicely refurbished hotel - room felt fresh and new. Great sauna, swimming pool and fitness. Nicely placed in the heart of west Berlin yet quiet.

Housekeeping woke us up at 8 am in the morning (apparently no communication between housekeeping and reception on which rooms have already checked out and can be cleaned that early). We were directed by reception to the elevator which took as to our 4th floor where we discovered construction being carried out and no passage to rooms so we had to go back and use elevators on the opposite side of the corridor.
