Excellent location for visiting Hagenbeck's Tierpark. Comfy rooms of a generous size. Clean and tidy. Very nice views across the local area from my floor. Direct bus to airport is five minutes away and the UBahn line to central Hamburg is similar.

No invoice provided via email on check out, even though this was requested. Some confusion over billing, which was easily resolved. Although the location for the zoo is brilliant, it's a little far out of the city and travellers should be aware of that. However, the direct U2 line from the UBahn station to Hamburg Hbf is helpful, as is the bus to the airport.

The design of the hotel is just beautiful. As we are both animal-lovers, we felt right at home. It's just so lovely, such a thoughtful creation and so well cared for. We will definitely be back.

The breakfast is very expensive! But that doesn't really matter, there are plenty of places nearby. The room was amazing, but it would be nice if the balcony doors could be pulled shut from outside. Again, a minor thing. It was very warm in the room, even though the weather wasn't great. I couldn't get the temperature down, but maybe I'm just not good at working the air-con!

The hotel capitalises on it's proximity to the Hagenbeck Zoo by adding elements to the decor and ambience to evoke feelings of safari. The room was well appointed and very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Windows opened so it was possible to get fresh air. Staff were helpful and friendly at all times. As a solo traveller I felt safe in this property. It was also easy to reach due to its close proximity to the U-bahn station.

The Sauna and the showers in the spa was really nice. The rooms interior. The elevator lights. The staff.

Breakfast: The coffee was tasteless. Generally I like a well made scrambled egg that is not from powder egg, and I want to know that it is ecological or pasture raised. More things to the eggs and less bread please. Margarine is not food in my humble opinion, I like real butter. The air conditioning was very loud and made it hard to sleep.

Everything! Amazing room decor and comfort - we loved the sliding door to the bathroom, excellent breakfast buffet, outstanding bar (especially the staff!), convenient for travel into the city centre and for the wonderful zoo, free minibar (in return for not having the room cleaned daily).

Tea/coffee station poorly equipped (not enough coffee/milk), we didn't see a shoe-cleaning machine.

Breakfast was very nice, very good choices of food and drink available for breakfast. The room was fine, the beds were reasonably comfortable and the bathroom facilities were good.

Room was quite dark, paid extra for a balcony room which was suggested when we arrived but wasn't worth it. It looked out on to a busy road.

Staff are all extremely friendly and professional. Beds and rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Had dinner one night and couldn't fault it. No problem getting taxis to city centre and there are 2 lovely restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

Very nice room everything worked good shower and comfortable bed. We loved the animal decor and the attention to detail it was quirky in a good and tastefully way. The breakfast was delicious with a good choice. The location was a few minutes from metro station and for people driving like us close to motorway. Convenient parking under hotel.

Nothing not to like!

Hotel decor is great. Room was lovely, spacious, clean and loved the decor. Bed and pillows were comfy. Location was perfect for where we needed, and was right beside the zoo and the zoo train station. Staff were friendly at reception. Would definitely stay again if attending an event at the Arena. Restaurant and bar are not open on Sunday's unfortunately so can't comment on that. Bar area was nice though.

This is a nice business hotel. Good parking and access in Hamburg.

a) It lacks the charm that a couple would want for a romantic weekend. The bar and restaurant are not cozy or intimate ... like I said, it's a business hotel and good for that. b) The breakfast is WILDLY over priced at 26 Euros per person ... easily 2x the customary rate. c) Hot water in the sink and shower were in VERY short supply. Had to run the water for a couple of minutes to get hot water and then it didn't last long. This happened all 3 days we were there.
