The hotel is okay and does the job. The breakfast was very good and versatile. Easy bus connection to the city centre.

The hotel is a bit outdated. Could use some paint work and bringing to the 2000's. And if there's no pool anymore, how about removing all the posters indicating there is? Asking for the extra fee for early check-in also when "early" means half an hour earlier and the room is already free and doesn't require extra work from the staff is not exactly great customer service. Haven't witnessed such unflexibility in other hotels.

Though a bit dated, everything was just good and good value for money. The staff is pleasant and professional. Location was great though we were with car and were able to easily move around. The area around the hotel is nice, the streets are good and it's not crowded which is what we were looking for. Bonus points for a small kids playground in the lobby. Overall it's a family friendly hotel.

Our stay at Mercure was great, would definitely return! We had a big room with a mini fridge, a pod coffee maker and a water kettle. The beds were comfortable and the room had plenty of hangout space. Outside the room was a vending machine that provided convenient snacks. The breakfast was great, with a large selection of food. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a connected parking garage for only 10€ per night.

The breakfast was on the expensive side (although it was very good). The elevators have a quirk where they always stop at the reception, which is annoying when you’re going from the parking garage to the room. The room could use more table space and outlets. Bring an extension cable! While it was generally clean, we found some trash under the sofa. The bathroom could not be locked. A minor issue both worth noting.

the hotel reception employees were very friendly, the room has that nice sofa to lounge and watch TV, The tub is great. Good and tasty tea bags. restaurant open at the evening until 22 hrs also good to have. breakfast is very complete and taste, it is worth to enjoy with no rush.

the pillows are not comfortable, a fridge was missing and can help to make comfortable stay. A coffee machine would be great, the instant coffee not so tasty. laundry machine would be also a big plus.

The room was a comfortable size. Beds were comfortable. The bathroom was nice with lots of room. The bus stop was very close and so it made transportation to anywhere very nice. (About 30 mins to go into Hamburg downtown.) There is even a night bus that we took for our 3am journey to the airport. (Thank goodness for G maps which shows me which bus to take.) We didn't want to pay for breakfast at the hotel (costly for what little we eat) but there is Lidl just down the road a few bus stops away.

The bathroom was nice but it was an open shower (half piece of glass) that is very common in Europe and so water would get everywhere with those in my group not used to showering very "delicately". There is no mini fridge. That would've been nice.

Very convenient location for DESY synchrotron. The staff are very friendly, rooms are spacious, and the breakfast buffet is excellent.

The interior decor is very dated and plasticky, and rooms are rather dim. A few things in my room needed fixing (the bathroom lights flickered, and a cupboard door was falling off).

Excellent facilities, fully staffed check-in desk, welcoming and attentive staff, rooms sized to humans, with all comforts including full temperature control. Many "modern" hotels offering skimpy facilities, no check-in, no staff, no care for the guests, have a lot to learn from Mercure Hotel am Volkspark

A refrigerator in the room

I stayed in the hotel just for a day. The staffs were helpful on sharing the location details when phone. The room was spacious and clean. We were offered complementary drinks in the evening, which we liked very much!

The location is a bit far from the city center / Hamburg HBF / central station. One need to travel almost for 35-40 mins via public transport (Bus - X3) to reach the location. The location is peaceful and quiet but does not have much shops or restaurants around except just one or two.

Our room was really spacious which is great for a little family. Everything was very clean and the location of the hotel is right across from the Volkspark which is beautiful to walk around.

The baby bed provided was very rickety and obviously old. It worked for our toddler but if she really tried she could have easily knocked it over and made it collapse.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, with spacious rooms and a cozy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out smooth. The location was convenient for exploring Hamburg, and the nearby park was a nice bonus.
