Our first visit to Cologne was made that bit more special by the lovely staff at Hotel Ludwig Superior...we found all staff so helpful and kind and we were always greeted with a pleasant Hello and warm smiles. Hotel was in a quiet street,excellent location for sightseeing and train station. Rooms were clean and adequate size and great breakfast options. Overall a very positive experience,thank you to all at Hotel Ludwig Superior.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating, as we arrived back late from our visit to Gamescom we asked if we could order some food and they let us eat in the common area and even provided utensils for us. We were using one of their parking spots and we asked if we could use it for a little bit longer after checkout so we could roam the city before leaving and we could remain parked until the new guests moved in, so until 14:00. We notified them on a small leak in the shower stall and from what we could tell they were already looking into it as we left the hotel.

The pillows were not very comfortable to sleep on, they were extremely soft and deflated when you laid down on it resulting in making it rather difficult to lay on your side. They do provide a firmer pillow but it is really small.

Location is amazing-a few minutes walk from main station & Cathedral, on a quiet street. Staff were lovely, helpful. Rooms were as described, only down side was no air conditioning tho hotel had supplied a fan ! Bathroom was decent, spotlessly clean though shower a little small . Breakfast was good though by 9:40, most of the meats were finished and while staff did replenish, you had to hang around & wait for meats & cheese so interrupting overall breakfast. Coffee was lovely, dining area quaint but beautiful . We enjoyed our stay, the hotel is a 3star superior and considering its central location etc we felt it was good value for money & would stay here again

Air con would have been great; Prompt replacement of breakfast foods would have been good but overall nothing major to complain about

Great hotel within easy walking distance of everything - tucked away behind the main station (but not right on top of it) and just up from the river and main bridge. The hotel has a friendly family feel, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. Would definitely recommend this as a good mid-range place to stay when visiting Cologne.

Our room wasn't cleaned one of the days - but probably our fault as we were a bit late going out that morning. And the cleaner turned the radiators (in the room and the bathroom) back on, despite our having turned them off. But pretty minor issues, and nothing that was going to spoil our stay!

Very friendly, welcoming and helpful reception staff. Attentive staff at breakfast. Location very close to central train station. Requested a quiet room and this was provided. Shower really good. Even though I only stayed two nights the towels were changed and room freshened on second day of stay. Breakfast buffet excellent.

No tea coffee making facilities in room. If this is not provided due to space or safety reasons I suggest you consider leaving the hot water supply in dining room ( that is available at breakfast) available throughout the day with tea and coffee for guests to make a refreshment when they return to hotel.

Very close to rear side of main station maybe three minutes walk. 24hr Front Desk was very convenient for late arrival. Hotel looks quite old-fashioned but my room was modern and wonderful! Plenty of shelves and storage, beautiful bathroom, plug sockets by the bed and on the desk - proper automated blinds to keep the light out, and NO noise at all from outside! It was amazing. I did not have breakfast but it all looked lovely.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and catered well for guests - not part of a big chain. We enjoyed the breakfast, good selection of food coffee and teas and excellent service. It is just a 5 minute walk from the main station and they were able to accommodate us at short notice when delays meant we missed our connecting train. Would make a good base for a longer stay.

The pillows were too soft for us, and no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

The hotel was just a few hundred yards away from the main railway station The staff were very helpful and courteous at all times. We had the suite on the first floor, and it is huge, a massive living and dining area, separate bedroom and bathroom. If they put a kitchen in, it could be a one bed apartment, it was that big The rooms were all clean, and there was coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast catered for everyone, cooked breakfast available, yogurts, fruit, pastries, cereals.

This property is great, but My only gripe, and this goes for every hotel not just this one. The size of the bath towels! Fine if you’re a child of 12 and under, not so good if you’re an adult

This hotel has impressed me to such as extent that I'm now sitting in the balcony of my room writing this review. The customer service is superb, extremely helpful and polite staff, the rooms are simple but comfortable and everything one needs and recently renovated bathrooms. Breakfast is good and forget about machines, they bring you hot coffee in beautiful china to your table. Not to mention the amazing location close to the main station

I'm very glad with the experience, but potential points of improvement include investing on a faster and bigger lift and a bit better chairs on the balcony. The internet could be better.

Location was perfect, so close to the train station and the Cologne Cathedral. The front desk man was the nicest human I’ve ever met. I showed up at 11am praying a room was available for early check in because I was exhausted, but none were since it was fully booked. He offered me the only room available which was quite small, but I was so grateful and appreciative of it, the size didn’t bother me one bit. I’d stay here again!

The mattress was quite firm, but I guess some people might like that.
