We booked here to break up the coach journey between Milan and Zurich airport. It's perfectly placed with the park, river and lake very close by. There is a mixture of old and new and also not far to walk to the swiss border. There is a good shopping centre with a variety of shops along with supermarkets. Downstairs at the hotel, there is an Irish themed bar with a good variety of draught beers. There is also a number of screens showing football etc and Sunday is Karaoke night. We were on the 2nd floor and could only hear faintly. If we didn't have to be up so early, we would have stayed. The food is excellent! We had meals there both nights as it was so good and quite reasonably priced, too. Even non-residents go there, which shows how good it is. It is table service too, so better. The only downside is that we couldn't stay longer. We've already decided we're going again as it was so lovely and we didn't get to see half of Konstanz and when we do go back, we will be booking the Bilger Eck again.

The staff are very welcoming and speak English very well. The restaurant menu doesn't serve much in the way of traditional German food but the burgers are about the best you'll taste anywhere., The rooms are spacious with a large double bed and, importantly, have air conditioning, which I don't remember seeing on the list of facilities. There's also exterior blinds which completely black out the room if desired. The room service is every day including Sunday and provides bottled water and tea/coffee making items. The hotel is located close to the lake for sunbathing, although it does get busy and has a 'student' vibe. A few minutes walk away is a paid lakeside location providing a good family space for safe lake bathing. The location is about a 10 minute level walk away from the old town centre, and the no.6 bus is frequent during the day if you don't fancy walking. Oh and the bus is free for hotel guests paying the city tax! There's no private parking at the hotel but we never found it too difficult to find a space in the surrounding streets. The bar has a theme night on various days, for example, Karaoke / Quiz nights, which are well attended and good fun. That said, we never heard any noise two floors up, as the sound proofing is excellent. I understand the hotel was refurbished about a year ago and the manager runs it well. It's a good location for exploring around the lake by car or ferry from the old town. In summary, we found it an excellent experience staying at the Bilger Eck.

The breakfast is a little pricey, especially as there are cheaper places to eat breakfast nearby.

Good location with walking distance to old town and Badisches Landesmuseum. Clean. Very friendly staff. BodenseeCard included in room price. Two small water bottles for free. No audible noise from Irish Pub downstairs (we didn't go). Would consider again.

Our room was facing the busy Reichenaustrasse, so it wasn't exactly quiet. Parking was difficult but we were aware of this before. Breakfast was generally good but rolls were, for example, cheapest quality and jam was served in little plastic packs.

The room is large enough and well-equpped. The bed is comfortable. Everything is clean. There is an electric kettle and refrigerator in the room.

The hotel is on a busy street, so opening windows for the night is a bit problematic because it gets quite noisy. It is also a bit hot in the room below the roof. Having a work station (table with chair) in the room is great but in the room below the roof you can't really sit there because of the roof slope.

I stayed at Hotel Bilger Eck during my 18-day solo cycling trip along the Rhine. I arrived in pouring rain, soaking wet and it was wonderful to find this welcoming inn with an Irish pub downstairs. There were very adequate facilities for storing my bike, the room was really nice with a view onto the garden at the front of the pub. There was partying in the night outside but my windows were highly soundproofed so noise was not a problem at all. The convenience of the pub for a meal downstairs was just wonderful, staff were great and I felt very much at home there and would have liked to have stayed another night. Breakfast was perfect, not a wide range of choice but perfectly adequate. I'll certainly come back here if I'm in Konstanz another time and would highly recommend this hotel for cyclists and travelers. Especially those that have a thing for Irish pubs!

I wouldn't change a thing.

Great room. Nice shower. Comfy beds. Sky TV was a bonus. Coffee machine. Fridge. It was very hot in summer so the air conditioning was much appreciated. Good location. Easy to walk to the old town. Plenty of restaurants and bars close by. Nice quiet neighbourhood.

Nothing not to like.

In general everything was good. The location of the hotel is very good!! Very close to the two main bridges to go to the city center. The receptionists were very polite.

Misunderstanding in the room service so our room was not fixed for the second night...

Very good location, especially for cyclists. Everything was tidy and clean. It felt like it was freshly renovated. It was ok quiet, we slept well. There was a safe place to leave the bikes. Late check in went well.

There was a high stair till the bicycle storage. It was equipped with a ramp but no one told us about it.

Very clean and comfortable beds. Staff was really nice and helpful! We did go over to old town a lot as there wasn’t much to do on the side of the river that the hotel was on, but travel was easy via foot or bus.

Not much, just the fact that everything we did was across the river!

I have to say, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the soundproofing windows make a significant difference in creating a peaceful environment. Everything is nice and clean, which adds to the overall pleasant experience. It's been a great stay!
